After the trying year we have had so far, I wish you all a happy and joyous holiday. I hope that 2009 proves to be a good year for all of us.
I am so thankful to be alive to see another Christmas, and I know many of you are as well. I honor the memory of all those we lost this year, especially my dear friend Kevin.

I did! Bought a 7 ft pre-lit tree on sale at Lowe's for $25. I have all my white, clear, gold and silver ornaments on it. The cat keeps trying to chew on the tree...
I even have outdoor lights this year! My apt balcony faces the street. It's all honky-tonked out....all blue lights.

Alan, I hope you have a most blessed holiday. I don't have a tree up this year, because I'm supposed to be in Arizona. My flight got cancelled Sunday because of all the snow we're and Detroit are having. I'm trying again on Christmas Day (winter is a crazy time to fly anyway, isn't it).

Hey Alan,
I wish you a joyous holiday this year and a grand 2009.
I also have my front porch done all in blue, except the wreath that is covered with red chile pepper lights and the candy cane rope lights I have wrapped around the roof pillars.
Miss Betty, I hope you make it to Phoenix. It is snowing like the devil here right now. It is bad enough I rented a car to go to Albuquerque tomorrow because my Miata hates the snow.

sorry to hear about your flight troubles, Betty. Hopefully you'll get to head out for some warmth soon ;)
I made my trip to the (rainy) warm (low 70s) Carolinas this past weekend, and got back just to Ohio before more snow, cold, and ice hit town (only 9 degrees!). I had a good time seeing my family, though I just couldn't forget that the last time I was home at Christmas, I had taken Jim to meet all of my family. :'(
I, for one, can't wait for this year to come to an end. I had thought the year after losing Randy had been the worst year in my life; but this past year after losing Jim has definitely been much worse. That's why I couldn't even put up a tree. Though I should be celebrating spending my first Christmas in a new home, I'm just too saddened by spending my first Christmas without Jim. But I plan to end this year with my Moms. :-* I've already seen my real Mom in NC, Christmas Eve will be spent at my OhioMom's party, and Christmas morning, I'll be going to see my mom-in-law (Randy's mom). Then I'm going to stay into my warm home (that is, if the repairman fixed the furnace right after it's had problems twice in the last two weeks) and wait till 2009 sweeps this horrible year into my past.
