Title: Countdown
Post by: wolfter on February 09, 2012, 11:19:29 am
Who is starting the count down this year?  Seems like it's approaching much faster this.  Maybe it's because I'm not just sitting around the house waiting on the clock.

Good lord Wolfter, it's more that 5 months away.  I can only assume you must be getting excited seeing as how much you loved Seattle (it was fun wasn't it?).

OMG !    I may have to smash my PIGGY BANK this year !

Let time slow down a little !

I'm getting hit from all ends !

Bob's truck is needing    repair , The House needs  finishing !

I have not paid for last years trip to   Connecticut  ::)

A trip I did not want to make ,  And will not  do this year with out a free

Air-O-plane   ticket &  the use of a fairly new Luxury car  ???

                                                                  Weasel

   P.S.  I plan on driving  :-*

That works great, you can always stop and pick me up.  I70 runs right through our parts. ;D  I was planning on driving too since I don't want to limit my wardrobe again.  Even with checked luggage, I almost ran out.

Let's resume the countdown to AMG 2012 in Washington DC, now that it is just a month away.   ;D

I ALWAYS look forward to AMG.  You know it's funny.  We start planning, voting, and deciding months in advance and then before you know it, it's here.

DC here we come.   :)

Special thanks to Dennis, Gary, Nic, Phil, Jody for all their efforts.

Yikes RAB.

I lucked out this time and only have a mere 45 min layover in Atlanta both ways. Which is just enough time to pee and get a cocktail before dashing to the connecting flights. And I quite enjoy Hartsfield Jackson it's such a lovely airport.

I don't have a lay-over this year.  Seattle was my first flight ever and I had a lay-over in Dallas.  I headed straight for the doors to have a smoke and about died when faced with the 150 degree weather.  :)

RAB, I had layovers in Detroit both going to and coming from my first AMG in Montreal. They have this long, psychedelic tunnel between terminals; just get on the moving sidewalk and go through it a few times, I promise it's entertaining. And there's two  sports bars where you can smoke in the McNamara Terminal.

I don't know who I've told and who I have not, but I will unfortunately be unable to go to AMG this year.  My company has vacation blackout dates between July 15th and September 13th and there is just too much going on at work for me to try to arrange my schedule so that I can be off long enough to make the trip.  I was so looking forward to meeting everyone and in specific my angels Bocker, Mikey, and Phil, but apparently it wasn't meant to be this year.  I hope everyone has a blast and since I had to utilize my vacation days to before the 15th I will be seeing Will in San Antonio by a simple twist of fate.  So I will give him hugs to spread to the rest of y'all.  I hope this AMG is one to remember and have fun everyone.

I have 2 lay-overs on the way back to  ABQ, the 1st one is in Kansas City, and the 2nd one is in Denver, but they are only 25 minutes each , so that isn't too bad  ;)

Trey  :'(  I m so sorry to hear this  :'(

Well that sucks!  Was looking forward to meeting you -- and I'm not sure a hug transfer via Wumpster actually lives up to our bargain...................   so, I'm afraid you will still owe an actual hug at some point.

Mike,

I am now in Vancouver as we speak spending the night near the cruise terminal.  Leaving for the Inland Passage tomorrow (Saturday.)  You are right...Vancouver is beautiful (this could easily be an AMG candidate.)  I am staying at the Blue Horizon and it would probably suit our many diverse needs.

Going to take your advice and view sunset in Stanley Park.  Weather is quite cool (it was a blazing 106 in Kentucky today)...low 60s here and will even be cooler on the cruise.

22 days for me.  Arriving on Thursday just in case I screw up or something :o At least this year I won't be terrified of the plane ride.  I won't even need little white pills and a cocktail ahead of time.

Sorry you won't be there Trey, was looking forward to meeting you.

I wish I could go, but unless I have a new job next year or the dates for AMG move to before July 15th or after September 13th I won't be able to use vacation to attend.

Have safe travels -
Do as Jeff said and get up and walk around a bit during the flight.

I am so excited to finally get to meet you in person!

See you in a little over a week.

And - I can't wait to meet everyone else - After all of this time talking to people online, it will be great to get to actually meet in person. BTW, I actually look like George Clooney in person   ::)

It is coming up so fast now.  It'll be here in the blink of an eye -- especially given that I leave this Friday for Boston.  We'll be there 4 days to get our marriage license for the Sept 1st event of the century (there is a silly 3 day waiting period from application, to be given the license).  Get back on Monday night -- then head to DC on Thursday.
Can't wait to see all you repeaters and meet some new folks too!!

Oh -- it's official -- Sid will not be able to get away, so I will be flying solo.

Hugs,
Mike

:)  Ed and I filled out the "hold mail request" for the post office, today. This will start next Tuesday, as will the hold of the newspaper.

I still have Sunday and Monday to work, before vacation starting on the 24th. This gives me a couple days to get my sleep schedule back in sync from the graveyard shift.

Can't wait to meet everyone !!

Today was exceptionally lovely, low humidity and highs of 87F. Tomorrow is supposed to be absolutely horrible. They just raised it to 102F for Washington and 100F on Friday on accuweather, and just a few hours ago it was saying 99F and only 1 day of heat. Oh, and humid (making the heat index 105F) as well with posible DERECHO coming in, but DC is on the south side of the threat area so may miss this storm or not get the worst of it.

The bad weather should break for your weekend though.
