Eye Toward Nature
« on: October 29, 2006, 07:18:41 pm »
Since my diagnosis, I sometimes lose myself in emotion, which isn't always pleasant. However, the one thing that I find profoundly beutiful now, is nature - flora and fauna. Recently, when feeding peanuts to some squirrels, who are almost at the point of taking them from my outstretched hand, a blue jay flew down for a closer look. I managed to snap a photo. What a colourful creature! I photoshopped the background to greyscale to highlight its spectacular colour.

Wellington -

You did a great job! It's a wonderful picture... I know what you mean about being lost in emotion...some things are beautifull and you shouldn't hide that fact that you see that. <3

Wellington,
Congratulations on your discovery of nature and the healing qualities that lie within it. Personally, I've always sought and found solace in the natural world. When I need a break from people, HIV, the world or whatever it is that is bothering me, I load the dogs into the Jeep and go out hiking in the mountains, or four wheeling in the desert. There is so much beauty in the natural world, that I cannot for the life of me understand the mentality of those who have no appreciation for it. To my way of thinking, watching a sunset, cranes flying overhead, or even just ants busy at work, will always be more relaxing and entertaining than anything on TV. It is part of the reason that I live where I do, I can be out in the natural beauty of the world in just a few minutes. Keep going out there, you will not regret it. Even in crappy weather, it's still amazing and inspirational.
The photo of the Jay is great, take your camera with you whenever you go out. You never know what you will see, andhave the opportunity to capture and share with others. Take care and enjoy the show....

Beautiful photo...everytime I walk out of my front door the scenery changes, the color changes in the garden, new birds flying in for spring and summer..even the forever changing cloud formations and colors can leave me breathless.

Thanks for the Jay, such a beautiful bird.

Hugs

I can empathise with you on Nature, feeding and caring for these wild creatures is so rewarding when that little show of trust happens on there part.
