Holiday card to doctor?

Do you send a holiday card to your physician?  I've never sent a holiday card to my doctor but, after what I went through this year, I wonder if I should send my Dr's office a holiday card.  In a weird way I feel like my doctor helped save my life.  Cons for not sending a card: it was his job + I don't want to seem like a nut case.  I've even been thinking of sending a holiday card to the hospital staff that helped me during my 2-week hospital stay last Spring just as a sign of appreciation.  Is this weird?

I sent a Christmas card to my doc the last 5 yrs. wishing him Happy Holidays, and thanking him again for helping keep me alive cause I thought he definitely deserved the card. I also sent thank you cards to my vet over the yrs when I had to put 5 of my spaniels to sleep. The yr I had to have two done at the same time, I sent a holiday card, and just like to my doc, thanked them for all their help and treatment beforehand, and the care and dignity they showed at the end.

I sent my doc a card last year and added an extra little thank you for trying to treat and help keep my late partner alive. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a card from him in the mail (probably on the same day he got mine) where he wished me happy holidays, reiterated about how well he and the nurses thought I had taken care of Jim, asked how I was doing getting through those first holidays alone, and that if I needed anything to call him anytime.

however, cynically, it never hurts to grease the wheels a little either. Everyone likes to receive cards. if you send a card and none of the other patients do, who do you think the doc will think more kindly thoughts about and perhaps treat a little better? It's the same reason the insurance guy sends you a card LOL He'll hoping you'll think happy thots about him supposedly thinking of you so you'll buy insurance from him.

I always thought it was nice to sent a card. I've sent cards to my doctor, and at the same time, I have always received a birthday card from him, and his staff. I think it's something that will be  appreciated by him.

I am about to send my Doctor ( and his staff) a nice thankyou card, for these past 6 years.

We're sending a card to our new doc this year.  Never sent one to the ex-doc - maybe a bit of foreshadowing there.  We also sent a Christmas card along with a thank-you and picture of Mim to the PICU and peds floor staff who took care of us for the 5mths she was in the hospital.

Here is my question: Doc was with one practice for the majority of the time we've been with him and the staff was WONDERFUL!  I couldn't have paid for nor hand-picked a better staff.  However, in October, he moved his practice.  And, while the staff is good, too, we've only seen them once so far.  Do I send a seperate card to the staff where he used to work?

Mum, I'm sure that would be perfectly fine.  For the record, I always take my doctor and his staff some fudge that I make every year.

This doesn't seem weird to me, although I've never sent a holiday card to my doctor.  I don't think one can ever have too many greetings and thank-you's.  Don't overthink it -- just do it!

I totally forgot about that! When I was making all those muffins over the last few yrs., I was giving them out to everyone!  I gave my doc and his staff a large basketful on the appt I usually had between Thanksgiving and Christmas for the last 4 years I think. Ha! I bet they do miss me - the Muffin Man - this year.  LOL

I always just signed the cards "Happy Holidays", carousel. It's more a professional and not really a "love-n-hugs" sorta relationship.

GNY if you send me your doctors address and I'll send him a card also, because I definitely ain't sending a card to mine.  Just found out this past week he has been over prescribing viramune to my wife... and I'm pretty darn pissed about that and his reaction upon finding the mistake.

He'll be lucky if I don't beat his ass....

The first year I started going to my doctor I gave him a card and a bottle of wine for Hanukkah.  I haven't sent a card since... I probably should.

I was thinking of sending mine a card and a photograph. Since his office is fairly plain and I take a lot of nature photos I was thinking of getting one blown-up and nicely framed. I think that it's the least I can do to thank him. Besides saving my life he has gone way beyond the call of duty with me. He's written numerous letters, researched and applied for numerous drug plans etc.
