Well guys, after all this talk about how well I'm handling the Atripla, now comes another problem. Up until last week I was working for a local hotel that offered Aetna insurance. The insurance had a drug plan that required I pay $40.00 per month for 30 pills. Now, with the new insurance, I have to pay "50% with a $40 min/$100 max annual deductible. Meaning, since Atripla is not on a preferred brand, I have to pay $100 per month. I know that's better then the $1,200 that the medication actually COSTS, but still... it's a heck of a jump. The new job pays better, but pretty much the raise I get will all go to the medication. I'm not very happy about that, but what choice do I have?
At times I wish I could go back to my previous coverage, but then I was hardly making any money then because everything I got went to the insurance charge. It sucks.

I wish someone would hire me. I have been trying for about 8 years. Having ten years of unemployment on record, it tends to set up red flags and a more qualified applicant is always found. Even with an increased cost of meds, the amount of pay (in my field) would still provide a better quality of life.
I am not trying to make you feel bad, it is just that work and benefits is a hot topic for me. There is no end of organizations who ask for my services on a volunteer basis, I do everything I can but it does not pay the bills. Hi Falkore,
I understand....sometimes it feels like I work only to "feed" this bug that is HIV.
Medicine, medicine and more medicine.....copays on this and that, bills bills and more bills.
I've decided to not worry about it. I'm doing the best I can, I think that is all we can do.

I was shocked when I went to refill my meds not too long ago. My copay for Truvada, Reyataz, and Norvir has been $105 for the past couple of years. When I filled them this last time my copay dropped to $75. My only guess is that those meds have been classified differently. I'm gratefull but at the same time curious, but don't want to call as to raise any red flags.
