Title: Worried death !!
Post by: hamood232 on January 17, 2013, 10:23:26 am
hey guys,

so before something like 120 days ago i had unprotected with a girl, and after 23 days i started having flu like symptoms with severe sore throat, then directly starting thinking it's HIV and had (still having) a horrible anxiety after the flu like symptoms went away (took like a week and a half) i started noticing small bacterial infections all over, in my eyes, i had a couple of sores in my mouth on the inside of my lip in one month. two weeks later i started havnig dry eyes which was added to a dry mouth two weeks later. symptoms that also were involved in this phase - acid reflux, severe anxiety and dry mouth and eyes.
so i got myself tested after almost 69 days after a possible infection which came back negative. and again got tested at 105 days after possible infection in rapid blood test which came back negative after 30 minutes and Combo Ag/ab blood test which also came back negative after 4-5 days.
i should mention that i notice a couple of lymph nodes swollen in my neck and a possible one in my groin which all started a few weeks of possible infection.

I'm really really worried i cant even sleep and cant move on with my life. please tell me is there a need for additional testing ? or not ?

Oh and also i got the girl i slept with tested and she took photos of the results and sent me over the internet because she is living in russia now, she was negative for all STDs including HIV.

Well, from what you described, you have tested out to the three month mark, which remains the gold standard for HIV testing globally.

Three months = roughly 90 days.

You are conclusively HIV negative.

Ham,

You are conclusively hiv negative.

You do not have hiv.

However, you DO need to wise up and start using condoms.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED FURTHER TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ann thank you for your respond.
another quick question, what would be exactly the symptoms of HIV after 5 months of possible infection ? am asking this since am experiencing weird swollen lymph nodes in my neck (at the back of the neck and the base of the neck).

Ham,

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. Whatever is going on has NOTHING to do with hiv.

You are conclusively hiv negative.

YOU DO NOT HAVE HIV.
