Bring on the World Cup
« on: June 03, 2006, 08:29:09 pm »
Only 5 or 6 days to go till it kicks off, but I'm getting anxious.

Go you Aussies. We're ranked outsiders, but for us just getting there is half the fun. We've only ever made the World Cup once before and that was in 1974, also in Germany, and we were bundled out in the first round. I don't think we scored a goal in our 2 or 3 matches, but I could be wrong.

We have a friendly tonight Aus time against the Netherlands and one against Lichtenstein early next week.

Our opening game in the World Cup is against Japan on Monday 12 June. due to the time difference it will be a very late night for many of us down here.

Cliff brought this up 6 months ago, when everyone starting quailifying.    And we're just getting around to the games?  What have you all been doing since NOvember?  Well, Little STeve, I'm siding with you because America's team I think only has one American on it.  And Cliff had a cow when I made the big decision.  So you better do me good, little guy.
