Hello everyone,I'm a 22 year old male, exactly 48 hours ago I went to a massage parlor in a pretty shady area in Toronto,I was coming from a party and I had my share of drinks for the night,I was very drunk and I hardly remember properly,I paid a south korean girl for oral, she got naked,I was touching her all around and I got erect, then I remember she gave me oral with a condom or without I don't remember,I was not ejaculating so she gave me a handjob and I ejaculated...after she started oral I perfectly remember not having vaginal sex with her, I am in doubt about the time when I was touching her without a condom that I may or not have penetrated her and I am sleepless for 48 hours with the worry,I remember asking her after I was done that do u always make the guy wear a condom, she said yes even with my boyfriend...the only doubt I have is that I was too drunk, she may or may or not have used a condom or I may or may not have penetrated her...its still been 48 hours, should I start that antiretrovial treatment as its still been 48 hours and based on all I've told you,how much risk is my situation and what are the odds of one time vaginal sex without condom, please ease my worries, thanks

Had you had unprotected penetrative sex you would have remembered. You don't have an HIV concern.

sam,

Getting a blowjob, with or without a condom, is not a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has ever been infected this way and you will not be the first.

There have been long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one

You keep mentioning that you touched her all over, but this does not matter. Hiv is not spread through skin to skin contact. It is spread through unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse.

Here's what you need to know in order to remain hiv negative:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ann.

Thankyou for the detailed reply Ann,the reason i mention  touching her all over is because during this time she was very close to me and i was drunk and i may have penetrated her without a condom, from what i can recall i didnot but the OCD person i am and i vaguely remember things about that night ,i am getting thoughts that what if i did penetrate her, after she started oral i am 100 percent sure i didnot penetrate her till i ejaculated,it  is just during touching her very closely that i am getting these thoughts about what if i did etc. 72 hours are yet to finish ,do u think i should start pep? and could you tell me from your experience that worst case scenario if i did penetrate her,it was obviously for a very short while and i didnot ejaculate in her, what are the odds of a short one time vaginal exposure for a circumcized male? Please be very frank,i am willing to hear everything, thankyou!

This is really about what ifs and OCD rather than a clear certainty of the facts. Like Rod I agree that if you'd had unprotected anal sex you would have remembered despite the drinking.

No, I do not think PEP is warranted in this case.

You can always get tested at 6 and 13 weeks just for your peace of mind if you're going to get stuck on this experience. A negative at 6 weeks wil point the way to the same at 13 weeks. And remember I am only suggesting the possibility of testing for your peace of mind and not because I think you actually had a risk.

You have to decide what you need to do for  your peace of mind. I can tell you that we are not going to get into an extended conversation with you about what essentially is a what if situation. I don't think you actually had any real risk.

Thanks for your reply, unprotected anal sex is not the problem,I was only concerned about unprotected vaginal sex,I've never had anal sex in my life, nor do I plan to ever...so u all agree that their is no risk,I don't need pep and I should continue on with my life right? Thanks

Either vaginal or anal you would have remembered if it had happened.

So yes, get on with your life.

Hello Everyone,
I have a question,if you would be kind enough to answer.About a month and a  half ago i remember lifting weights in the gym,i was sharing gym equipment with alot of people as their was a lot of crowd working out at the same time in the gym,i remember 3,4 guys were using one weight machine with a wait of a few seconds between each one's turn...i was not wearing gloves and i dont know when i scratched my hand and alot of fresh blood came out suddenly came out of the scratch area, when i realized i washed the wound and put on a band aid, today i just got a random thought and wanted to ease my fears,is it possible to transmit hiv this way considering fresh blood and so many people using the equipment in a span of a few seconds, the thought i am having is that what if some one i was working out with had hiv....?

Hiv is NOT transmitted from objects in the environment, including gym equipment, doorknobs, sheets, forks, spoons, televisions, your computer or whatever else may be in your life.

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in UNPROTECTED anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect.

It would seem that you are descending into hiv paranoia land. You might want to talk to a mental health care professional about this before things really get out of hand.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE!!!

Secondly i am not sure about my status and i don't want to put him in risk either, its been like 4 hours since i used his machine and cut myself, can i put him under risk aswell?
thanks,Regards

Sam,

Once again you're here with a no risk situation. NO RISK situation.

Keep up with your therapy sessions. You need them.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!
