No dear, you can't get HIV from fingering yourself. Not even if you do it in a WalMart toilet without washing your hands.

Please take the time to read our Welcome Thread and follow the links to our Lessons to learn more about how HIV is and is not transmitted.

Just want to second Matty's suggestion that you read our lesson about transmission. You can't give yourself HIV. However, this epidemic is going to be around for a longtime and no one can afford to be ignorant about the real risks related to HIV. So read up and be properly prepared for if and when you are interacting sexually with others.

This time you don't have any cause for concern about your "attacks."

Cheers,

Hey guys thanx for the quick response it means alot. i see yall have alot of ppl that keep asking the same question over and over so i dont want to bug yall but i have another question. i suffer from extreme nose bleeds like out of nowhere my nose will start dripping blood. anyway the other day at work i was packaging some things and i started bleeding again and i wasnt thinkin and i pluged my nose with my pointer finger to temporarily stop the bleeding. my worry is again that since i was packaging and handling things i got some hiv positive fluids on my hands and fingers then put it up my nose exposing myself.
i also red somewhere that babies and little kids ae infected by picking there nose and rubbing there eyes because they have been touching things that have hiv positive blood on it. any truth to this?

Have you read the lesson on Transmission? Because your latest concern would imply that you haven't. Read it now.

HIV is a fragile virus. It is not transmitted from surfaces, packages, papers, items and other such sorts of things. You are worrying needlessly. But you do need to become better educated about what the real few risks are for transmission. Read that lesson.

Cheers,

Keep fingering away on the nostrils and anus. As stated there is no risk for either. Just don't switch back and forth with the same finger, Ecoli is a bitch.

I keep smelling crap?!?!?!

No honey you don't need our help, you need the help of a mental health professional.

I encourage you to seek that help. We cannot provide you with the support you need.

psychiatric help huh? ur prolly right. im not gonna give u my life story but i somehow feel that i am destined to get this disiese. i think wat i really need is a nice long lesson away from this message board with one of u guys. i just dont see how some of these things arent risks, gettin shit that could possibly have someones blood in it in ur eyes isnt even theoretical? or possibly getting someones blood on ur finger then inserting it into ur anus isnt a risk? its just hard to believe

Yup, psychiatric help.

And you'll be pleased to hear that I don't want to hear your life story.

People who say things like:

i somehow feel that i am destined to get this disiese.

don't need a long lesson from us. They need nice long sessions with a therapist.

For the record, we don't give off-site or private advice. The only advice you'll get from AM experts will be posted here in this thread.

Now do yourself a favour and talk to your doctor about seeing a mental health worker.

You are "destined" to get this disease? Sounds like a plan on your part. That's certainly worth discussing with a mental health professional.

As far as any reality related to your "destiny," as long as you always use condoms for intercourse and do not share needles intravenously you can very effectively thwart that "destiny." But it does seem like a good idea to explore professionally why you are planning for that to happen to you.

Stop indulging in all this drama, get some help and get on with your life. No kidding. -
