Options other than fillers for LA
« on: January 03, 2009, 12:17:07 am »
I'm positive 20 years and have fairly advanced LA, probably from D4T and other thymidine analogues. Went on an 8 year drug 'holiday' when the signs first appeared, but it only continued to progress. Started back on drugs last year and went through a series of PLA injections over 12 months. They helped somewhat, but I've lost fat around my temples and forehead, behind the eyes, and on my nose, so it's been only a moderate improvement.

Is anyone familiar with other procedures that improve the appearance of veins in the temple/forehead, sunken eyes and extra skin between the nose and mouth? I'm wondering about an old fashioned face lift, which would more reconstructive in my case. I'm in San Francisco and it would be great to know about any plastic surgeons in the area folks have had good experiences with.

Thanks for the community support--it helps to know I'm not alone.

Dave, one of our bloggers, posted this great description of his recent lipo face job in Tijuana:
