Hand job + blood concerns
« on: January 22, 2012, 04:34:57 pm »
Hello, I found this forum googling for information on ways HIV can be transmitted. Looks like a very solid resource for information.

From what I've found I should be alright, however I'd just like some reassurance...

A few days ago I had an encounter with a male after a party. I ended up receiving a hand job from him. However after I came I noticed he had some blood on his hand. I asked him why, and stated he cut his head after falling on ice and must have rubbed the cut, getting blood on his hand.

I have no open sores, cuts, etc on my penis, however I am worried that blood from his body, that was on his hand came into contact with my penis.

Is this something I should be concerned about? I've read topics similar to my situation, and it seems like I should be ok, however I just wanted to make sure.

It's really worrying me and I'm sure some answers would ease my concern.

At no time were you at risk of contracting HIV from masturbation, blood on his hand or not.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

Thank you RapidRod,

I appreciate the quick reply. I feel so much better, for the last week I've been a nervous wreck, constantly worrying about it. I'm so glad I found this site.

And you ought to also keep in mind that the only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. That's it.

As long as you consistently use condoms for those activities you will be well protected. It is really just that simple.

This is probably even stupid and annoying to ask, it seems I have an irrational fear and OCD of any type of infections and am a hypochondriac as everyone says I'm being ridiculous... but last night I was a bar with an HIV+ friend and we had just got our bills for drinks.

The bar tender handed my friend a pen, but dropped it and some how punctured his skin, then the pen somehow fell again then punctured my skin not even a few seconds later. I have a small cut and both of us had a bit of blood bleeding from the cut. Is this something I should be worried about, or am I just being the typical hypochondriac?
