« on: April 25, 2007, 12:02:16 pm »
I drive an 07 Honda Fit Sport 5 speed manual. I get around 34mpg in town & 40+ on the highway. I don't allow anyone to smoke  or eat in the car.

I drive a big old Ford Crown Victoria.  (It's a very clean, smooth car).  All I need to do is add a couple spotlights and no one would be able to tell the difference between me and the pokey! :D

I go for quantity.  A '97 Toyota Avalon is my main car and is the best car I've owned.  I also have an old ('89) Dodge Ram for when I'm feeling really butch.  I'll drive the '89 VW Cabriolet for when I'm not feeling so butch.  If it's nice out like today, I'll ride my bike... the one in my avatar.

Here is my favorite car, 2003 Toyota MR2 Spyder. It's so much fun to drive.

I also have a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. My partner has a 1999 Honda Civic and a 1995 Mercedes E320 which he keeps in mint condition.

Well Michael and I have one car we both agree on.  A 79 MGB.  Mine has factory A/C (rare).  It sits under a car cover and I never drive it.  I also have a Nissan 300ZX, Mercedes C280 and I bought my hubby a loaded Santa Fe for our anniv.

I am a car freak - my butch side... ;D

1997 Ford Taurus SHO, with a 5 speed manual transmission and a DOHC V8 engine, it gets about 18 mpg in the city, and about 30 on the highway.

'94 Ford Aerostar...willed to me by my grandmother last summer.  It's one of the bigger styles of "minvan." I love big vehicles so much that I decided to sell my truck and make the van my wheels. My Mazda truck was the best vehicle I've ever owned, I had it for 9 years and it never broke down, but it was getting to that age where things were going to start needing fixing.  The van gets shitty mileage, but damn near zero emissions--as in zero carbon monoxide particles on high idle, and 2 particles on low idle.  It will definitely have to be moving in order for me to die in it.

Edited to say that I once had a Ford Escort (which is an anagram for Either Suck Cock Or Ride Train, author unknown) and when it crapped out a slow painful death I swore I'd never own another Ford, but the Mazda convinced me otherwise (it's the same thing as a Ford Ranger.)

Up until recently, it was the 1955 Holden FJ Special Sedan.  It's been sold now.

My car I have had for 10+ years, the good old, 1994 Toyota Camry Wagon with mags and darkest legal tint.  Aka the shopping trolley or fridge on wheels.

Hey Rog,

With our MGB's and Jim's MGA, we have enough Forum members to start our own British car club.  I joined an MG club in SOCAL a few years ago and went to one outing (at the Queen Mary).  Other than our cars and an evening at the Bar, we had little in common.  Have the best day

The only car I actually own is a 1991 Ford escort but it's paid for and only has 66,000 miles on it.  sometimes my dad will let me drive the 1963 SS convertible Chevy II. Or The 1970 SS Chevelle with a 396 in it Or the 1972 Chevy Cheyenne. Seeing a pattern here. Can't wait for the 1964 SS Chevelle to be on the road. I will get to drive that one also. I love old Chevy's.   Cristy

I drive a 2003 Mazda Miata. Love it, especially on the narrow, winding mountain roads of the Western Slope of Colorado.

I also have a 1974 Ford pickup truck I inherited from my father. It is great for hauling things or when I want to look butch.

HUGS,

Mark

Hey Mark:  My brother used to own a Miata.  He got into an accident with a semi where he was hit head-first, dragged underneath the semi, and the top was down on the Miata.  He survived, and said he would own another one in a heartbeat!

HEy MIchael...

When my father died, my Mother asked us to clean out the garage and drive/tow the cars away.  My twin and I flipped a coin.  I got the 65 Mustang (my father gave it to my mother for their 25 anniversary) and my twin got the 53 MGT.  My father bought that new in 1953.  This was back in Colorado.  Both cars are now here -- and running -- in N. California.

Now that winter is over, it's time to get the 'stang out of the barn and give it a twirl.  I think I'll drive up to Grenada and visit my brother.  That's always a nice ride.

When I am at stuck in base in PHX, I drive a 2002 Buick Regal GS.

When I am home in SAN, I drive a 2005 VW GTI 1.8T

When I am at home in SAN and feeling like a dork I drive a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan that my partner uses as a carpool vehicle.

We are quiet diverse .... next up an Acura TL
The difference between an overnight and a layover is luck!

If I could drive I'd be driving my Dodge Caliber but for now it's just a 2nd car for Jeffrey. Once the lease is up I'll go back to a Mini Cooper or Jeep Wrangler.

Hey Robert,

When my dad was still alive and working, he told me of a 51 MGTD that he saw in a barn.  We went to talk to the owner one fine day and when we arrived it's new owner was already there with a title and a car trailer.  I got a red 58 Corvette for my 16th BD, which I sold many years later to pay the first years tuition at HSU.

I took my LeBaron conv to Pick n' Pull the other day because they buy clunkers.  I hoped they would give me 500 bucks for it.  They offered $149.00 so I took it to a body shop to get an estimate on the door repair, they wanted 500 bucks to repair the driver door.  Guess I will be doing the "Dukes of Hazard" thing for the season.  Much easier to get in and out with the top down.  Have the best day
Michael

Maybe you can borrow a pair of Queens daisy dukes and lure a few country boys back to the barn for a roll in the hay. LOL

I never knew we had so many car nuts on this forum. We should talk about them more often.

Hey Rog,

With our MGB's and Jim's MGA, we have enough Forum members to start our own British car club.  I joined an MG club in SOCAL a few years ago and went to one outing (at the Queen Mary).  Other than our cars and an evening at the Bar, we had little in common.  Have the best day

I just had my A completely restored, it took almost 2 years, and they took it down to the frame.  I have to go down to Florida and pick it up, after 2 years I don't trust having it shipped by a stranger.  I paid $150 for it when I was in high school and when I bought it the engine was frozen.  It has a lot of memories and I am glad I have kept it all these years.  J

My primary vehicle is my '97 Wrangler TJ with the 4" suspension lift and a 2" body lift with 33" Dunlop Mud Rover tires.

Secondary is my '02 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4, stock.

My partner has a '94 Wrangler, stock, but her daughter drives it.

2000 Toyota Celica GT

I had one of those !A black GT-S, 5 speed manual.  I drove the hell out of that thing and put nearly 150,000 miles on it in 3 years. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine.

I love the Celica. Very Speed Racer in design. I particularly like the ones with the wing spoiler. Toyota stopped selling the MR2 and the Celica at the same time and now they don't have any real sport models.

Same here.  I like my old Cabriolet, but a Miata is just so much sportier plus the top is a LOT easier to put up and down.  I've been looking at them on eBay this morning, in fact!

I have a story about Renault Le Car and a sexy car salesman back when I was a 17.  I might have to wank it today now! LOL

My first car was a Renault LeCar! It had the fabric roof that flipped back. It had a bulb on the floor for the windshield washer and if you slammed your foot down it would shoot water over the car and you could hit the car behind you. To get into the back seat the front passanger seat would raise up and go forward. I had to keep a hammer under the seat because the solenoid ignition switch would stick and you had to hit it loose to start it. It was a tuna can and I loved it. Ahh yes, driving around at 16 with my X-Man personalized plate and a "I brake for mutants" bumper sticker! No wonder I didn't have sex until I was 18! :D
