Prayers go out to our Bettytacy today
« on: March 14, 2008, 08:40:53 pm »
Most of us here know Bettytacy, or "BT" as us GFs in the Women's Forum call her.  She has posted in the Dating Thread that her father passed away this morning.

She is one tough girl, and I wanted all of us (guys included) to be able to send our condolences to her.  She just lost her mother last August and a very close friend of hers just died days ago.  Now her father has passed.  She is with family, she is one of four siblings.  Her father had been sick for awhile, but seemed to be a tough old guy.

BT, we all love you.   You make these Forums come alive with your humor and vibrant personality.  Hang in there.

Prayers go out  to you and your family.   :'(

Thanks to everyone for the support.  I'm doing alright.  It's just a little unbelieveable that such things (death) happen so close together.  My oldest sister found my dad on his bathroom floor around 8 something this morning and called me sobbing.  The Hospice nurse got there and pronounced him dead at 9:10.  So, I went to my friend's memorial, which was lovely, then headed up to my dad's.  The left side of his face was pretty bruised up from whatever he hit it on when he hit the floor, probably the sink.  It's just kind of overwhelming.  But life goes on.  Thanks again.

Edited to add: There are four of us siblings.  But thanks, Cindy.

Tomorrow I'm picking my sister up who's flying in from Phoenix at 9:10 a.m.  Then we sibs have to go to the funeral home at 1:00 to put the memorial service together.  It's just a little overwhelming.

Thank Timmy for me, Dachs.  And thank you all for your support.  It means the world to me.  Kisses to you all.
I'm doing alright, really.  Just have to accept things for what they are and move on.

My dad had a lovely service today.  The military did a color guard at the end.  Now, we have the house, which the bank is going to foreclose on, to go through and sort through 50+ years of stuff.  Ugh.

Hello Betty,

Although we don't know each other, may I too extend my condolences to you and your family at this time.  I was touched when I read:

Quote
Now, we have the house [...] to go through and sort through 50+ years of stuff.  Ugh.

Last June I had to do just the same, when my parents' house had to be returned to its owners. I don't know if the house you mention was the one you were brought up in, but going through those many years of stored memory is another kind of bereavement: I will be thinking of you.

A x

Yeah, it is and it threw me off when I saw it. But it shows you are still loved, even a year later. *sticks a sucker in my mouth and imitates Kojak* "who loves ya, baby?" You know your girls do!!!!
