That's not surprising. You're cute but not too bright.

Ahh, Avoidance. That's always worked well for you hasn't it?

Yep, sorta like you avoiding being gay. Look, if you're too dumb to know what "people living in glass houses" means, I'm not going to waste my time trying to explain it to you.

ANY more name-calling in this thread from ANYONE will not only result in the thread being locked, but also a few "watched" stickers being awarded as well.

I'm ignoring Weinergate because I want Christine Quinn to win -- my lesbian overlord of 8,336,697 inhabitants, larger than all but eleven states, and Switzerland.

Paris has had a gay mayor but they only have 2.2 million people so who cares?

If anyone cares what Bill Maher had to say about this and the media, here it is:

Discussing just what Chris Matthews has said about Weiner--

"My friend, Chris Matthews; I like him a lot.  I've seen him endlessly talking about how awful Weiner is.  He [Chris Matthews] went on and on for a whole year about his book about John F. Kennedy.  He loves Bill Clinton--never stops kissing his ass.  Those two guys did things way worse.  I mean, Kennedy so much more reckless.  He was screwing the mafia mistress, East German spies, 19 year-old White House secretaries--two at a time in the pool.  Bill Clinton...Paula Jones.  Ya know, true sexual harassment.  There just seems to be no consistency in the media."

Bill did question Reza Aslan calling Weiner a pervert.  He said as long as the wife is okay with it, then it shouldn't be our business.  He did say Weiner was weird.  He said what he really doesn't like about what he did was how he used the girl.  He says she saw Weiner as a hero and put him on a pedestal.  He says he used that position to "fuck with her head and have his own ego stroked."  Maher says that really rubs him the wrong way.

So, just in case you care what Maher thinks, there it is.  I don't have the link.  This is from the show that aired Friday night.  I agree with the media criticism.  About the young women, I guess I need to know more.  I was under the impression that she got in contact with him after he left Congress.  Unless she felt he was a changed man, then I don't understand her being surprised.

You just HAD to - totally unnecessarily - quote an instance of name-calling after Jeff and I explicitly warned against further behaviour of this type in this thread.

It was totally unnecessary because you could have said what you wanted to say about Ms Quinn without quoting a post that included name-calling. You only did it to test our patience.

Consider yourself warned and watched - but I'm not going to lock the thread over your patience-testing and limit-testing.

Miss P , I fully support Ann's warning . Its just a simple warning and no one wants you banned . You contribute years of experience in many threads and are a valued member here as is everyone .

You know full well I have great affection for you but you simply must abide by the same rules as all of us including moderators and members alike .

We'll just have to agree to disagree -- it's an Off Topic thread and I don't see where I made an infraction. If you two insist on going down this road then I'll simply consider self-banning and no longer participating here, and it will be not because of the tenor of the forum in general, but because of the type of moderation you two have chosen to employ in the past several months. I rarely if ever had issues with Peter, Tim or Andy -- odd, ain't it?

In the end it's up to the two of you, not to me. Now I'm going to enjoy my breakfast and in the final analysis, when I took off a month from this place I found much more productive things to do. I suggest some of the rest of you do the same.

ps: I don't feel much affection, frankly, and haven't for the past several months. Odd how that lines up with certain events, doesn't it?
