The Beautiful Benefits off Travel
« on: July 28, 2012, 07:49:30 am »
I Have recently returned to London after a good long stay on Orkney. Some off you may remember that I was nervous off both making the two day trip and how I would find it after a absence off over a year.

Well I am glad to say the trip was a great success and has lifted the debilitating depression that I was struggling with. What fear I had off travelling went very quickly ,  about 5 mins after the train to Edinburgh pulled out off Kings Cross . I got the Boat from Aberdeen with no problems , as it was early summer it was light all the way and I got off at Kirkwall in the fantastic light off Northern Summer evenings.

Met next day by best friend with his car. We visit the main art Gallery ,Shopped for food as though famine was forecasted and I got a Dunn's Harris tweed Jacket from the 60,s for a fiver in the charity shop in Stromness.

At 6 pm we arrived on the island and once again the drive from the ferry dock to my house delighted me and I understood just why I dance with bankruptcy to keep this going.

Towards the end off the stay I began to paint which really sent the spirits up.
Now I intend to get back asap.
Thanks for the prior encouragement

Michael, reading about your enjoyable trip made my morning.  I am so glad it has helped you dig out of the depression hole.  I hope you're able to milk this lift of spirits for as long as possible!  Thanks for posting this.

Thankyou BT and Bear,

It has Even survived my trip to the dentist which spawned 4 more appointments with the cheerfull comment "and then we,ll start on the bottom ones"

The eye Doc said that she is seeing alot off people with LT infection for cateracts.
My left eye can be operated on whenever I find it bothersome.

The news from the Dentist and  realizing that the whole off October will be going to the Dentist recovery from the Dentist lay behind my booking tickets for Orkney yesterday.

I leave on Tuesday back 1 Oct, Quite surprised at myself.
