Question about supplements to take while having HIV
« on: October 06, 2008, 06:50:20 am »
Hello people,

I was diagnosed with HIV in Aug 2003 and then diabetes in Oct 2003.  So i got a double whammy.  the HIV is undercontrol but my diabetes is not.  but my main concern is what kind of supplements are good to take with my hiv meds to boost my body's metabolism and health.  I am currently taking Reyataz, Norvir, Videx EC, and Truvada.  Been taking that for several years now.    VL is undetectable and has been for a long time and cd4 is 750.  I have heard good things and bad things about certain supplements and herbal meds.  I wanted to try echinacea and even bought some echinacea tea. i love herbal teas.  I have heard that echinacea can be good for the immune system but that it isnt good for some HIV persons.  why is that?  What herbal teas or medicines would you recommend to boost my metabolism and help with my overall health and even my diabetes.

thanks

eric
