Tested today & on edge
« on: December 05, 2015, 11:52:31 pm »
hello

i'm a hetero female who gave a blow job to a man of unknown HIV status earlier this year..7 months ago. he came in my mouth, i swallowed and i had a small sore ulcer on my inner lip. he also had a small cut on his penis from my nail but no blood.

the reason i'm so worried about this is because the guy was random and seems negligent about his health. he asked me to have a 'quick go' with him without a condom. but i said no to sex, just oral. he also photographs nude and bikini models for a living. he told me he sleeps with different girls on tinder each week. he said he was "clear" and recently tested for STDs, but he also said he slept with a girl the week before - so maybe he just contracted HIV and had a high viral load without knowing it.

anyway, i finally mustered the courage to get tested today. i have been having very bad stomach pain/diarrhea for 1 months. i have to wait a week for the result and am sick with worry because i have a young child to raise on my own. before this i haven't slept with anyone in 4 years and had a neg. hiv test 3 years ago. i have bad anxiety and dont know how to get through this week.

thanks.

You can relax as you never had a risk.  Oral sex is not a risk for infection.  HIV is a very fragile virus.  Its outer surface becomes damaged, immediately when leaving the host; where changes in temperature, pH and moisture levels, alter the HIV outer surface, rendering it unable to infect.  The mouth is another barrier, as it protects us from pathogens that we encounter daily and it contains over a dozen proteins and enzymes that alter HIV, leaving it unable to infect.

There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.)  These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years.  The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex.  Any kind of oral sex.

These studies yielded NO infections.

A cut or ulcer would need to be bleeding profusely to present any risk at all.  What you describe is not a risk for infection and you do not need to test over this incident.

Thanks Joe...some friends have told me similar but I'm going through bad anxiety so it's hard to believe. "What's ifs..." Etc.
I will try to relax. Obviously in the past I have given blow jobs without this level of anxiety. Don't know why I am so worried now.
Maybe I need help.
Thanks for replying so fast.

I just realized I have a history of acid reflux and in the past have coughed up bits of blood. So now I'm very on edge and unable to sleep. When I did swallow the cum I don't remember the acid reflux being that bad that week, but I was also tipsy so maybe that made things worse. I am worried my test will be positive and I'll be an exception to the rule. I didn't cough any blood or taste the week I was with him. What do you think?

Hi , Studies have shown that only unprotected anal and vaginal sex have been proven a risk for HIV so if you decide to test over this incident you should expect a negative result.

To avoid infection,

You need to be using condoms for all anal and vaginal intercourse until you are in a trusting monogamous relationship and both have been tested for all STDs and HIV.
Everyone who is sexually active should have an annual exam and test for all STDs and HIV ,and always after unprotected intercourse. Always using condoms will give you peace of mind your tests will return with a negative result.
