Title: not in good shape
Post by: panicgirl22 on July 28, 2006, 06:33:34 pm

I could not find my last post anywhere, so i could not link it, i will just  tell my story.

Around April 22nd  i had i was messing around with a guy much much older then myself I'm 20, and i wasn't planning on doing anything with him really we were just hanging out at the same place, but one thing lead to another and i ended up giving him head(some cum got in my mouth), and he also slipped in me for about one minute without a condom(possible precum??). and then i pushed him away, cause i am always safe about that kind of stuff.

about a week after this i talked to him again, and he started telling me that he is bi, and he also was date raped b4 back in 97' which then i immediately asked him if he was ever tested, he said he hasn't been in years, but he said " I'm fine look at me I'm grown and healthy" which means nothing to me. so i told him to get tested but, i don't think he listend to me, i barley talk to him anymore anyways.

since then , i have been okay i just have been getting alot of dermatitis and a few rashes and red marks on my face, sides, stomach and legs, which has been worrying me. i know i need to get tested, but i get really nervous about all that.

your help would be great.

If you think you are at risk for HIV, the only way to know is to get tested.  From what you describe, your risk would seem low, but you need to start protecting yourself as you are NOT playing safe, when you allow a man to put his uncovered cock in your ass.  It also doesn't matter what he tells you about his status, unless he was just tested.  The fact that he has no symptoms or "looks healthy" means nothing with regards to HIV.

I think you will be fine, but if you are a sexually active male and at the age of 20, it's time for you to at least get an initial test.  Unless this has been your only possible exposure, you just never know and in the case of HIV infection, knowledge is power.  Get yourself tested and put this behind you and then insist on protecting yourself with all future partners, until you find that special someone and you can both test together.

Panicgirl22,

The incident you describe would be considered a fairly low risk.  But it isn't NO risk.  Not so much because of the cum in your mouth, but rather the unprotected penetration.  As such, you need to test.

As you are past the window period, any test you have done can be considered conclusive for this incident.

It would be unusual for you to become infected from the one time, brief encounter.

Oral sex is very low risk (for the one performing), and no risk to the one receiving, but you definitely need to use condoms for anal or vaginal sex every time outside of a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested negative for all STD's.

Panic,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

As you've already been told, the odds are in your favour of testing negative after a one time event. However, you have done the right thing in testing because your hiv status is nothing to guess about or take for granted. Try to keep yourself productively busy while you wait for your results. All the fretting in the world won't change them, so please try to relax in the meantime, and expect a negative result.

Panic,

This is the second time I've had to merge your threads. please STOP starting new threads!

The time for test results to return varies from place to place. If you're worried, get on the phone and ask them. We don't have a crystal ball that tells us when your results will be ready.
