Post by: Dachshund on March 19, 2007, 10:49:13 am
Today marks the four year anniversary
                                  of the occupation of Iraq.

                                     $505 Billion spent
                                  3,205 U.S. Soldiers killed
                                 24,042 seriously wounded

IRAQI CIVILIANS KILLED, 50,000-100,000, BUT MAY BE HIGHER

1. Almost no terrorist attacks against US outside of Iraq and none in US(remember, if you blame W for 911 you should give him credit for no new attacks)
2. Attacks against Israel have dropped off dramatically.
3. US economy and world economy have skyrocketed because W has shown the barbarians we will not tolerate their terrorists. Countries from all over the world invest in our stock market and bonds because we are the strongest country in the world and still the safest place to put money to work.
I really can find no other positives at the moment. All we get from US media is the bad news, never, ever anything positive. There has to be some positives. Why are so many on the left against US victory? Is it because it might prove that sometimes war and death are more practical paths to peace than decades of negotiations and appeasement with terrorists or enemies? If the terrorists and our enemies believe we will never attack them, our civilization will decline and that is what they thought prior to W attacking Iraq. I just wish we had let our forces destroy the enemy when they had the chance.

Iraq had ZILCH to do with al Qaeda before we invaded.  Please try again.

Last time I saw a rug burn like that I had my left foot on the back of his neck while I...never mind  ;D

"Pretzelnit" still has me giggling, in that uncontrollable, from the gut kind of way.

There is always much to learn about paleocons from Jakey's posts.

First up, blame the Media.

All we get from US media is the bad news, never, ever anything positive.

What, not even from Fox? 600,000+ dead Iraqis and 3,000+ dead US forces, add a smattering of trouble making journalists and aids workers and you've just gotta see the bright side.

Next (and this is my favourite) they lay the fault at the feet of the No Good Godless Left.

Why are so many on the left against US victory?

This neatly glosses over the fact that the Left warned the hardline neo-cons not to embark on this fools errand from the start. We marched in the streets in the US, the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand. Just about everywhere. We waved placards and fired off prissy petitions to our hawkish governments.

But did the Right listen? Oh no! And now that the whole enterprise has turned to shit, it's down to us, the leftist cockfags and liberal moonbats who opposed the whole damn thing from the outset.

This argument also presumes that there was going to be a victory in the first place. It doesn't matter that ever since the French got screwed by Uncle Ho in Indochine we've understood that lumbering military giants will, as a rule, get gutted in warfare by desperate guerilla outfits.

Just ask the Ruskis what happened to them in Afghanistan.

Is it because it might prove that sometimes war and death are more practical paths to peace than decades of negotiations and appeasement with terrorists or enemies?

But, all of this notwithstanding the Right are, well, always correct. We press on with the doomed military offensive.  Wasn't it Chairman Mao who taught us that "justice comes from the barrel of a gun?"
