Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Hey there, I'm sure of the answer I am going to get but I figured maybe I can get some comfort describing my situation. I am a closeted gay male and stupidly have met up with other men over the internet. The biggest area of risk I suppose I have had is in giving oral. There were a few occasions where there was precum involved, never full ejaculation though. The problem is sometimes I have bleeding in my gums when brushing my teeth and that is what really worries me. On top of that, I have had occasional burning pains in my legs and armpits, which I have read could be signs of HIV. This situation goes through my head constantly and I get so scared and depressed. Do I need to get tested?? If this truly is a no risk situation, what could these burning pains be from?

You never had a risk of contracting HIV from oral sex.

Your gums would have to be in really dastardly condition to even present the possibility of a risk for HIV via oral. What you have described doesn't even come close to that kind of situation. Your saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV.

There is nothing remotely HIV specific about your "symptoms." As for what could be causing them and your "burning pains," go see your doctor to find out the real cause. It's not HIV. You are worrying needlessly.
