Hello!I am Lisa,in my family has a person H+ and he died,I begin obsess about Aids,please help me!my risk:I touched to public doorknob while my thumb has a open wound,could I catch HIV if there is some blood of someone else on doorknob before me ?I touched it immediately after last person,have I risk?do I need test?

No Lisa, you do not need to test. You were absolutely not at risk by touching a doorknob even if it was dripping with blood. HIV is not passed in that manner. It's a fragile virus that needs the kind of receptive setting provided by a vagina or an anus during unprotected intercourse.

Since you have described yourself as "obsessed" with fears about HIV, I do strongly recommend that you see a therapist or other professional to get help in addressing this concern. Life at its best is too short to waste being unnecessarily anxious and unhappy.

No, absolutely not. Are you listening to what I am saying or only to your irrational fears? No one has ever been infected in that manner and you aren't going to make history by becoming the first.

HIV is not passed from environmental surfaces of any kind. Period.

I am not going to get into a debate with you about this, Lisa. Yes, the viability of HIV outside of the body is very, very brief. AND the CDC is not going to tell you that you can get it from doorknobs or other such surfaces. Period.

Like you have been told on another forum. The answer is no. You cannot contract HIV from environmental surfaces.

Feelings aren't facts. There is nothing in this situation which put you at risk for HIV transmission. You have no basis in HIV science to be concerned. Period.

And I have to tell you that if you keep coming back here repeatedly with the same non-risk concern, you are very quickly going to earn yourself a 28 day Time Out from the site.

No you are not at risk of contracting HIV from having massage of your face. Seek professional help with your HIV phobias.

Hiv is spread through unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. That's really all you have to worry about. It is NOT spread through touching ANYTHING, blood or no blood.

If you keep coming back with these questions about touching people or things or being touched by people or things and you will be given a time out.

Lisa,

Because hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus.

If you both were in a car accident at the same time and both had deep, heavily bleeding wounds, then you might have a risk. What you describe is hardly blood on blood.

Again, keep posting about these no-risk environmental or everyday contact events and you'll be timed out. This is your last warning.

oh,my God! I have a new risk,again.Night 23/12 I were walking on street side.Unexpectedly my big toe feel a stinging pain when pierced by a needle,I touched my big toe and I didnt saw it bled.But I scared it still cross my skin and wound very small,I cant see blood.Have I risk if a personH+ want revenge life and he clinked syringe to me?How long can HIV live on head needle/syringe expose to air?
