Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Couple quick questions if I'm at risk:

Hi Everyone, I have a couple quick questions for the experts here. 4 weeks ago I received a protected BJ from a CSW. during this she took the condom off of my penis and put her saliva on her fingers/hands as lube to finish me off. 2 weeks later I have had the following symptoms: couple times woke up sweaty with rash on arm. Constant what I think are gen. herp outbreaks, horrible head aches, eyes spurratically burn, and ears tend to slightly hurt now and then. also continued faint rashes throughout the day, and pain in groin. Constant feel mildly sick Questions are.......

I have read from the experts here this would be of zero risk for HIV. this is still the case yes?

Would blood in her saliva, if there was blood (HIV survive long enough in the air to go from her mouth, to her fingers, to my penis?

Has anyone ever been infected this way?

Although some people show no symptoms, are these somewhat common HIV symptoms?

The situation you described wasn't a risk for HIV . HIV risk is from unprotected anal and vaginal sex ... so you can stop worrying about your no risk handjob , no one has ever been infected with HIV from a handjob or mutual masturbation and you will not be the first .

There have been no fewer than three long term studies of serodiscordant couples (where one partner is positive and one is negative) that lasted three, five and ten years. The couples used condoms for penetrative anal and vaginal sex, but chose not to use barrier protection for oral sex of any kind. At the end of these studies, not a single person seroconverted due to oral activity. Not one.


You had no risk. None at all.

If your symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV because you haven't done anything risky. Getting a blowjob is one of the most common of sexual activities and in the entire history of the epidemic there has never been a single confirmed case of transmission to a guy in that manner. It's safe to say you won't make history by becoming the first.

Sexually the only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Use condoms properly everytime for those activities and you will be well protected.
