Just reporting in...
« on: April 02, 2010, 01:02:48 pm »
Hi gang

I haven't had a whole lot to say recently, but thought I'd post just to let everyone know I'm still alive and kicking !   Got a referral to a podiatrist last week; as I feared, it was a mistake.....people like me who depend on Medicare to take care of them can't afford doctors like this.   He took a gazillion X-rays, and prescribed a compounded cream, which cost $2 a gram...and he prescribed 180 grams.   So, I am getting thirty grams, and sorry to have to part with $60+ dollars....Also, he wrote me a Rx for Metanx (?) which is supposed to help with the arthritis in my toe joints.  There is no generic equivalent for it, and I'm in the donut hole (what else is new?) so it would cost me $105.   Won't be getting that one, either.....

On a more positive note, I think I'm finally about to get my face "fixed" after all these years!   Now that Medicare will cover it, I've made an appointment with a cosmetic dermatologist at UAB.   I'm thinking about going with Radiesse....anyone have any experience with that?

Hugs and Happy Easter to all of you!

Love, Alan

Alan, so good to hear from you!  Sorry about the doughnut hole.  Hopefully, eventually, that will be a distant memory.  I've never heard of Radiesse, but hopefully someone who has will chime in.

Have a great Easter yourself, my friend.
 Luv,
Betty

Hey Alan,

That donut hole sucks, hon. Good luck with the toe problems.

Congrats on the face fixing!  That is just super.

I hope you have a Happy Easter.

BIG HUGS,

Mark
