on The Essential Enmity between the Spirit and the Flesh
« on: January 21, 2007, 09:50:48 am »
The Magician is one who is Balanced with the Forces of Nature, one who is conscious of the very stuff of reality. Riding the crest of the wave so to speak, with varying degrees of expertise.

Gnosis, they say, is the Religion of the Magician.

Gnostic traditional holds that even up through the rocks and trees consciousness/awareness arises, until it reaches critical mass in the Mind.

Yet this realm, this universe with its particular set of physical laws is merely a prison.

Trapping wayward sparks of divinity that we are securely in an Engine of Time.

Billions of years we've been stuck...

Sooner or later we have to find our way back Home, to the Pleroma, the Realm of Light.

We must Wake Up, we must Remember.

You see, in order for this realm to *work* for us, we had to forget from whence we came. Agree to do this: forget we are Sparks of Divinity just so we can experience the Highs and Lows of this Universe, which the gnostic might see as a blasphemy against heaven, like an oil smudge on your nice clean garage floor. While it seems pretty in its own wretched way what with the shimmering rainbows, its still just an oil smudge in the middle of your nice clean floor.

Do I want to go home someday? Yes of course, who wouldn't, once they've woken up? Do

I hasten the day? No.

Science has just now started to peak across The Singularity, into "Else" (perhaps

undulating sheets of strings).

Yea! for M-Theory! We peer out from within the smudge our universe is and behold vast shimmering planes

When I joined a gnostic church in Chicago awhile back, a candle was lit. I still have the

candle from that cincturing & tonsuring ceremony. The candle light is meant to remind me

to Not Forget I Am a Spark of Divinity.

What do I want? To not forget again. Unfortunately that means the frustrations Life is

frought with only become more picquaint.

WOW! and wow again. Have you ever considered writing as a possible augmentation of your regular career?
Well done, and beautifully written.
