Hi DW,

Have you discussed this with your doctor? I'm guessing you and your wife are thinking of having another baby. If so, it's something to ask your doctor about. If the doctor is reluctant (some docs still don't like positive people having families) have a look for another one.

Another hiv resource in NYC is the Gay Men's Health Crisis, or GMHC for short. Despite their name, they help anyone who is hiv positive. http://www.gmhc.org/ They may be able to point you in the direction of a baby-friendly hiv specialist.

Good luck!

Hey Dingo, I can't help but wonder if what they're doing (or more to the point, NOT doing...) is illegal. I can't see how they can discriminate against hiv positive people who don't want to contribute to the sperm bank, but only want sperm analysis.

You might want to run this past the legal department at GMHC, especially if you can't find another company who does sperm analysis.

But again, if you're wanting this done with an eye towards getting your partner pregnant, your hiv doc may be able to help. Have you discussed it with him/her?
