LT#59: Graduations, Spring Cleaning and New Beginnings
« on: May 09, 2009, 07:40:29 am »
It seemed to be that time again, so here's a new thread...

First off, Happy Mother's Day to all you in the USofA.

Next, Happy Graduation Day to our Betty!
Ditch the nerves, woman, and enjoy every minute. You so deserve it! I can't wait to see a photo of you in your cap and gown.

Anyone else doing some spring cleaning? I have - it's been sorely needed. When I moved into this house just over two years ago, my back was acting up and instead of doing the clear-out I wanted to while packing, everything just got tossed into boxes and shoved into closets here. I have a closet in my kitchen that goes way back under the stairs and it's chocka with "stuff". I guess most of it can get tossed as most of it I don't miss. Of course, sod's law, the couple things I DO miss are right at the back. I'm saving this closet for last - so far I've done my bedroom (complete wardrobe reshuffle) and the pantry. I've also still got the garden shed to do - it's like aladdin's cave out there.

My daughter is also graduating from university this spring - although her ceremony isn't until July. Her father and I are going over to Leicester for two days, and we're picking up my ex-mother-in-law on the way. Thank-goodness we all get along! I can't tell you all how proud I am of her. She's known about my hiv status almost from day one and she never let it interfer with her own life. She's a trooper.

I had other stuff to say - but I'm having a brain-fog moment. ::) I'm sure it will come to me later!

Hey Ladies-

I posted this under the wrong thread.  I don't know where my head is lately.  I just back my test results and the cd4 is not very exciting.  I  got retested on Friday.  I want to go back to school but I'm very limited.  I want my graduate degree in graphic design, but no school in my state offers a program.  So i thought online.  However, there are very few schools.  The one that is perfect for my career path is $52,000.  I almost cried when I found that out.  I am currently applying for financial aid but I'm stuck because I just filled out the paper work and I need to put in my  2008  tax info.  It doesn't apply to my life now because I had to file jointly and my bank account was shared with my exhusband. It's so frustrating.

It turns out I have a large cyst on my ovary.  I don't know how they're gonna proceed.  Either birth control pills (which I'm not happy about) or a  D and C?  The technician was really great....I had her a few years ago.  I had two procedures done....a pelvic and transvaginal ultra sound.  I asked her if they named the "wand" that they used for the transvaginal (for in office kicks).  She said not YET...laughing.
I'm happy that it's only a cyst which is benign.

Well, it was sunny for awhile but now a new storm is blowing through.

Hope you ladies had a nice weekend so far.

Hugs,

Camms

God, please let this work.

Edited:  That's about as good as it gets.  I can't get any other picture to get to a small enough size.  The pics turned out a little dark, but hopefully you can make me out.

Ann, I did a little spring cleaning, but it sounds like you're on a roll.  Congrats to your daughter.

Camms, sorry about your CD4 cells.  About the master's degree, can you take out loans to pay for it?  Just wondering.  I know it's expensive.  Heck, where I went to school, it's $298 per credit hour.

Anyway, the graduation was pretty good, except for the commencement speech.  It was given by a self-made steel tycoon, who started spewing his political views, and of course, he was Republican.  He was going on about how government shouldn't be as involved as they are, and things are bordering on "socialism."  I wanted to yell, "we don't care about your fucking opinion."  But, anyway..... My best friend drove, my brother and his girlfriend went, and my therapist and his wife were there.  They (therapist and wife) took us all out to dinner afterwards and gave me a Bulova watch.  They're really good friends; hell, I've been seeing him for so long (18 years), they should be friends.  They stood godparents to my granddaughter when she was a wee one.  So, that was my day.  I hope you all are having a good one.

I think I may be able to attach one more pic, hopefully.  It's of me getting the folder to put the diploma in.

Happy Mothers Day to everyone!  I also include pet moms:)

Betty, thanks for including the pics.  Sounds like you had a perfect day.

Netta,  do you feel good about it.  Sometimes drastic changes to our hair is a reflection of change. Looking forward to the pics.

I have a busy day today.  Going to church and meeting up with my siblings and mom for Japanese.  It's gonna be strange.  We decided to take just my mom out and then do the same for my father on his day.  They're practically inseparable.

It's sunny this morning with a strong breeze.  Reminds me of early fall.  It's beautiful.  I'll pass it to you all.

Hugs,

Camms

Betty, your pictures made me mist up. I'm really proud of you. Shame about the republican ruining the ceremony.

Camms, sorry to hear about your cyst. I've had four ovarian cyst operations so far. They've also done a laser whatsis on me - both inside and outside my uterus - for endometriosis. I got a two-for-one bargain that time - they removed a cyst at the same time.

I'm surprised they're talking about putting you on the Pill instead of just removing it and being done with it.They usually only go that route when it's a small cyst that isn't causing any pain. Ovarian cysts tend to grow on little stalks that can twist and cause immense pain. The third time I had one, they first suspected I had appendicitis because I was in so much pain. The last time I had one, they thought it was a tubal pregnancy because I was about four weeks pregnant at the time. (lost that baby - it had already died by the time they did the op. Got a two-for-one bargain that time too - they clipped my tubes while they were in there.) They can be dangerous when they twist (strangulate) as well - something about the blood supply to the cyst being cut off, causing the tissue to die and go septic.

The op isn't too bad, they do it by laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) and you can usually have it done as a one-day surgery. (LOL - spell check just suggested periscope for laparoscopy) It's only two tiny incisions - one in your belly button and one just to the side and above your pubic bone. They only take one stitch each to close. The recovery isn't bad either, it's only a couple days of slight soreness. I can't see why they'd be talking about a D&C - that only affects the cervix and inside of the womb. Good luck with this Camms. If I were you, and still in pain, I'd ask about having a laparoscopy done. Going the Pill route can take a lot of time for it to resolve, and it doesn't always work either.

Netta, how long were your dreds? I should get my hair cut short too, but I can never bring myself to do it.

Hope all you mothers are having a nice Mother's Day. My daughter texted me earlier to say "Happy American Mother's Day" LOL

Morning all,

Netta, do you like your new do?  I'm sure you look fine.  I didn't know you had dreds.  I just had some darker color put in my hair about a week ago.  I had been bleaching my hair for years, and I decided it was time to go back to my natural color.  The hairdresser only highlighted it darker; she didn't want me to be in total shock.

Camms, I hope you have a good day today with your mom and siblings.

Ann, I've had three laparoscopies.  My gallbladder was taken out that way, I had my tubes tied that way, and I had one for pelvic pain.  I have three or four tiny scars.  I'm sure the extra holes came from the gallbladder surgery.  They really are nothing to recover from.  I think the worst part for me was the pain from the gas they blow you up with.  Not bad, though.  Much easier than being slashed open from one side to the other.

I'm going to my oldest sister's this afternoon.  It's still hard for me on holidays.  I miss my mum and wish she and my dad would have been there yesterday.  People tell me "they're looking down," but it's not the same as them being here to talk to me directly.  Anyway, that's going to be my day.  Happy mother's day to us all and you all have a good one.

Hey Ladies-

Welcome to the week.

Ann-  Same time last year, I had small ovarian cysts which one had twisted and popped.  It was very painful.  Now, its a new one that's much larger. My primary care doc had ordered the ultra sound last week (she suggested the pill or d&c).   I have to call my gyno today for an appointment and figure this out.
Wow, you've been through the grinder with your insides.  Endometriosis is no walk in the park.

I can go really crazy with the hair.  I had it dyed dark red/eggplant for years.  Went from long to extreme short.  Had a pixie haircut bleached a pale blond.  I have been letting it grow and going for the highlights to hide the gray.  But even that I have neglected purposely.  It's very expensive and with thoughts of school on the horizon, I have to cut all extraneous spending.  BTW-  sent out my application last night online to the school in san fran.

I hope everyone had a great mothers day.   Cute story Ann.

Betty-  I suppose it a strange day for  a lot of people.  I know I have feelings of longing not having any children.  There was a time I was trying, but my exhusband's heart was whatever happens happens.
I hope that you had a nice time with at your sisters.

Everyone have a nice Monday.

Hugs,

Camms

I am SO glad last week is OVER!  It just about killed me.  But, as always, by curtain Friday night everything came together beautifully.  It was one of the best written concerts we've done.  My poor old body is still trying to recover.

Ann, yes I've started my spring cleaning.  Seems I just finished last year's when I had to start this year's. It's been so cold, wet, and unspring-like this year that it's hard to get motivated.  We've made our list of summer projects: painting our room, the girls' room, hallway and living room, pulling up the carpet in our room, the girls' room, and hallway and laying down bamboo flooring, changing out the sliding glass door and the wooden front door.  It always seems to be something.

Betty: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!  I noticed you decided against the new color for graduation.  Let the job hunt begin (oh, joy!).

This is our last week of school.  I'm just as excited as the kids are for it to be over.  I ordered their summer workbooks which we'll start the end of June.  As soon as they finish them (with 90% accuracy on each page), their summer school is over.  We also set aside 30 minutes a day for quiet reading.  That we mostly do sitting together under a tree or on our back deck.  They'll do that all summer.

Hope all of you had a wonderful day yesterday.  As usual, it was organized chaos here.  If it wasn't, I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

Morning all,

Cristy, I hope you're all well soon.

Latrice, a couple people have asked me "are you going to go on to get your master's?"  I tell them "hell no, not for a long time."  I'm really burned out on studying.  Anyway, only one more class, aye?  Congrats.

Camms, I hear you on the hair.  There was one time I dyed my hair jet black.  It just did not go with my pale complexion, but I thought I looked pretty cool.  Horrible.

Mum, the concert sounds wonderful.  And yes, I did get my hair done.  The beautician highlighted it with my natural color instead of coloring the whole thing.  I really like it.  I realize it doesn't show up very good in the pics, but the cap is covering most of it.

I think today I'm going to get my watch sized.  And I have to go to the bank and do something with the money I have in there that's over $300, so the trustee doesn't take it when I file.  I may put it on a bank visa gift card.  That way I'll have a receipt, the trustee can't prove otherwise if I say it was a present for someone, and I'm not walking around with a lot of cash (not like I have a lot extra anyway).  I think my landlord may call this morning about fixing the hole in the bathroom door. He called Saturday, but after I left.  That's about it so far.  You all have a nice day.

betty - congrats again, im proud of you girl

camms - im glad your cyst is benign. i hope your CD4s come back better with the retest

keeping - happy anniversary!!! how you guys celebrating?

christy - i hope u're feeling better

netta - what are you going to do with your hair?  my afro had grown about one inch or so and i couldnt comb it properly it was so painful. got it braided and had a weave coz i was starting to look embarrassing.i do envy men sometimes, they just go to the barber once a month and forget about it. none of the hair-frying and braiding and shampooing moisturising and oil treatments etc etc that we go thru with our hair

mr-out-of-town just showed up out of the blue on friday. he came in town on business with his boss.  they left the next day. i tried but its just not happening for me anymore. spent the weekend with my mum, aunt and sisters (note to self: get a life!). we were dissing men like crazy. remember my aunt's ex who had run off with another woman and then came back with his tail between his legs? he didnt spend the night at home and im sure his ears were ringing like mad wherever he was coz thats all we were (nastily) talking about.  i wonder if she'll ever kick his broke ass to the curb like she threatens.

Happy Belated Mother's Day to everyone!

I laid low yesterday, I had planted flowers and grass seed and was out in the yard all day Saturday so my body hurt.  My SO cooked for everyone all day yesterday so that was nice( good thing I am writing it down, it doesn't happen often)

BT-  ;D I was expecting your hair to be dark, that is a great pic!

Ten-  Men bashing is always a nice stress reliever! that must have been fun.

Mum- Glad your night went well.  I have a long list of things I want to get done to my house too this summer, it just never ends.

Keeping- I hope you have a nice day.  Just to let you know.....the end of the movie sucked  ;D

Camms-  I have changed my hair a lot over the years too.  It is so expensive to get it cut and dyed when it is long, but for my hair it is easier to take care of.  I got my hair cut last week and the women next to me was getting her extensions taken out and then sowed back in, that must be a pretty penny.  She had hair like in your pic but red, I think she just wanted it longer. I hope things work out for school.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

I just got my results back from the cd4.  Drum roll please...
407, which is a big difference for the below 200 I posted.  I'm happy since I think that's my highest cd 4 number in the last three years.  It was always hovering in the mid 300s until the decline.  Now I'm really looking forward to the 500 mark :)

Everyone have a great day

Congratulations Betty and congratulations to you too Cam.

I have not done any spring cleaning. We have too many guests in the house right now to even consider it. But our front door was stained. We chose a green stain. I'll take a picture sometime and show you.
And we got a new closet door today. The old one was falling off the tracks and scraping the wood. Little by little Billy has been making improvements on the house. He has been talking about selling the house and getting some place smaller with no lawn or little lawn to care for. Posssibly a townhouse. Who knows. I dont dread the idea of a smaller home. I just dont want to move from this area.

Anywho when the house clears out and its just me and Billy again I'll tackle the decluttering that comes with spring cleaning.

I hope you all had a nice Mothers day.

Morning all,

Tendai, I really hope your aunt gets smart, and gets rid of that man who keeps messing around.  I hate it when women settle for less than they're worth.  Man bashing can be very cleansing. ;)

Netta, that food sounds really good!

Snow, thanks. :-*  And, my hair is darker in spots, but it didn't show up in the picture.  When I went to the hairdresser, she highlighted it my natural color instead of doing the whole head, for fear of shock.  For some reason, only the blonde shows up in the pictures.

Camms, great news on your CD4 count!  Congrats.

Wendy, I didn't know you had a lot of company.  I used to live in a townhouse, and it was pretty nice.

I got my social security card in the mail yesterday, so I'm going to take that to housing today (section 8), so they can make a copy.  I'm going to get the watch sized that my therapist and his wife got me, and I'm going to try to find something to take the mats out of my cat's fur.  I wish she would let me put her in the kitty carrier to take her to the vet, but she's not having that.  If she were a small cat, I could maneuver her around so I could get her in there.  But, she's pretty big, and trying to get her in by myself has been impossible.  My landlord should be here bright and early to finish fixing the hole in the bathroom door (he filled it in yesterday).  The hole wasn't bad, but housing cited the landlord for it, hence the apartment didn't pass the inspection.  That hole has been there since I moved in, and I've had two inspections previous to this one.  I guess it depends which inspector someone gets.  Oh well.           Other than that, I'm probably going to read.  I hope you all have a good one.

Wendy, sorry about the house full of folks. Hopefully they'll be gone soon and you can get back to your routine.  Hubby and I lived in a nice townhouse when we were in college.  The landlord was flexable about letting us paint and decorate the way I wanted.  There was a small privacy-fenced patio in the back that was easy to care for.  The only thing I didn't like was sharing 2 walls with the neighbors.  Too close for comfort.  Also, with the baby, having a yard might be easier - she can get out and play.

Betty, I'm suprised someone hadn't made the landlord fix the door before now.  Oh, well, at least you get a door out of it.

Camms, congrats on the new numbers.  Good luck on getting into the design college.  When will you know?

I did precious little yesterday.  We had school, I folded some laundry and read my book.  Hubby and the 3 boys got the yard mowed.  They just got finished when we had one serious thunder storm.  Both ball games were cancelled.  Then, as quickly as it started, the clouds rolled away and the sun came out.  Then, at 7:30, it started again.  This time with HAIL!  It's the middle of May and we had 2 inches of hail in our yard! Good grief!  Can we please have Spring already???  We've not planted anything for fear of the frost.  It will get warm, won't it?

Health Access called yesterday and said that all I have to do is get an update from DHHR saying that I'm still not eligible for a medical card.  I called yesterday and left a message.  I'm hoping they can just send me a letter and I don't have to go back and do the paperwork again.  What's going to suck is if I've gone through all of this just to get denied by HA, too.

Not much planned for today.  More school and more housework.  Have a good one.

Cristy, hope you're feeling better soon.

Mum, bamboo flooring? What's that like? I need to pull up the carpet in my bathroom - I hate carpet in the bathroom. There used to be a small carpet/lino shop in town here, but he went out of business last winter and I missed the closing down sale. I could have kicked myself, I probably could have done the floor for just a couple quid, as everyone said his prices were next to nothing. Now I'll have to get someone with a car to take me into Douglas so I can buy some lino. It will probably have to wait until my daughter comes home from uni. Good luck with the Home Access! They've certainly given you the run around for long enough.

Betty, the closest I've ever come to colouring my hair was using henna once, years ago. I've never been one for fussing with my hair and these days it's usually in a braid down my back. When I was a kid, we had a Persian cat who used to get mats all the time. my mother used to make a few snips in the mat with scissors, then tease it out with a fine-toothed comb. Took ages and the cat didn't like it much, but the mats were so icky. Especially the ones she'd get around her bottom. (I know, TMI!) ;D

Tendai, dissing men is one of my favourite hobbies. Foxtrot has been behaving himself lately, so I haven't had much to bitch about for about a month now. ;D

Keeping, what number anniversary did you and your DH celebrate? Foxtrot and I have been back together again for just about eighteen months now - I don't know where the time has gone.

Netta, you made me hungry. I haven't had watermelon in ages - we don't see it much here and when it is available, it's way pricey.

Camms, that's great news about your CD4s. That other result must definitely been a lab screw-up. Endometriosis does indeed suck. I don't know if I still have it or not though, I had to stop the therapy they had me on after the op. Since I've been poz, my periods were getting heavier and heavier and were lasting up to two weeks sometimes. They were absolutely draining. I had a Mirena coil fitted a year ago this past February and it's supposed to completely stop your periods within a couple months. I'm still getting periods though, but they're manageable now. When I asked the gyno about it, he said that it just proved how bad my periods were, because when they're really bad, they won't go away completely. Just my luck, was looking forward to not having them. At least I don't feel incapacitated for three weeks (one week recovery time) out of every flaming month anymore. Can't complain, really, but what the hell... ;D

Wendy, how much longer do you expect to have guests? It seems like you have a full house more often than not. I think that would drive me nuts, I like my own space too much and I don't even live with Foxtrot for that very reason. I've gotten used to having the house to myself since the child has been away at uni. She was planning on moving to a flat with one of her mates after graduation, but we're not so sure she'll be able to afford it now. At least she has a job to come home to - a cafe she's worked at since she was 14. They absolutely love her. Good thing too with the way the economy is right now, jobs are getting scarce.

I'm off to mow the lawn before it gets too long again. We had a lot of rain last week, so it's growing like mad.

Good morning everyone! I have been out of the habit of posting for so long...

Camms- I'm glad your numbers are higher then you expected. Also, I think you are getting me and Cristy confused.... :D

Wendy- I am such a bad host. I can't stand being out of my routine and would not do well with house guest.

Betty- I guess it is safe to assume that your cat would definitely not go to the groomer, huh?

Mum- Wow! Your school year ends early. Do all the kids have "summer school"?

Well, my year is winding down and it seems like there is more to do now then in the whole year. I am so READY for summer. This will be my first time in 8 years that I am not teaching summer school. Of course it's not by choice. Budget cuts have forced summer school to be canceled except for high school. I am going to try to babysit a friend's baby. Anyways....it's only Tuesday and I am already exhausted!

Have a good day my favorite ladies!

Ann, the bamboo floor looks EXACTLY like regular hard wood floors, but it's more environmentally friendly.  It could take decades for a tree to grow 60 feet.  Bamboo takes 45 days to grow 60ft.  We're using it because it's cheap.  Here they even make clothes out of it.  It is softer than cotton and wears like armor.

Andrea, we're not "bound" by public school schedule. We can start and stop pretty much when we want.  Public schools here don't get out until June 5th because of snow days.  We didn't take off for snow days, though.

The legislature is trying to make a law getting rid of the mandatory June 5th rule that states no matter how many snow days we've had, the school year can't go past June 5th.  They want to make it law that schools can't have a Christmas break until they've had 90 days of school.  And, they can't have Spring break until they've had 135 days.  Then, the school year can NOT end until 180 days in class has been achieved. Teachers and parents are enraged.  There's also talk about extending the school year from the middle of August until the end of June, giving kids only 6wks off for summer.

We have math workbooks that we work on during the summer.  Most of the home schooles we know do some kind of achedemic stuff during the summer time, esepecially if there's an area that the kids need help in.  Some do it because the kids love to do the work and don't want to stop.  Or, because they are in highschool and want to finish early.  Very few home schoolers take the entire summer off.

Hope everyone is having a good one!

Hello My Ladies----

I have skimmed over the posts so forgive me if I leave something out. Happy Mother's Day, sorry I wasn't logged on. I had a good one, though. I got roses, my nails done and went out to dinner. And I have been having a great time since I have gotten here. Though the people can be a bit rude, I do like it here. The best word I can describe it as being is entertaining and busy so make that 2 words. I must say I am deliriously happy and am now a taken woman.... :D And I am loving every minute of it. I feel like how Moonlight is with Ice, if I can compare it. So, I am feeling a new beginning definitely.

Congrats Betty and nice pics. You worked hard for it girl!!!! And you deserve it!!!! Netta, What????!!!! You cut the dreads? Well, I am sure you look just as good with the baby fro. Gonna grace us with a pic? Camms, good to hear from and sorry about the ovary. Gosh, I am trying to remember everything but just can't do it. I am sorry I haven't posted sooner but I wanted to stop in so no one would think I have gone missing. I have been on the go almost everyday. Though the past few days I have been chilling since my legs are sore from the workout at Bally's. Yeah, my baby is a gymrat and I tried to hang. I haven't given up but I just have to get past the pain...ugh! :P

I hope you all are doing well and maybe I will post a pic soon. I have missed you all....(((((Group Hug))))

Hey Queen! I'm so glad you're on cloud 9.  Good luck with the working out.

Andrea, my cat would probably have a heartattack if I ever tried to get her groomed.  Hell, I can't even get her in the kitty carrier to take her to the vet's, let alone a groomer's.

Mum, I really hope you get that health coverage soon.    As for the weather, it was 38 when I got up this morning, but now it's 65. But, we have not had hail.  I'm hoping warmer weather is right around the way.

And, Ann, Foxtrox again?  I just don't know what to say. :o  We'll definitely have to skype soon.

I got something to loosen the mats, and a finer-toothed comb.  I tried them on my kitty, and she bit me.  So, I'll try again later.  This is going to be fun.

Everyone should be gone by next week I think. Just me and Billy again. I'll look forward to short visits from family but I feel the need for privacy again. LOL

The baby cant run around in the back yard really because of the pool. She really loves water and does not understand that the water is deep and she will sink. So you have to be right next to her the entire time she is in the back yard. And the front yard of course has a street so thats not safe either.

hey Ladies-

Viv sorry.  Christy is Robert's mom right? And you just had the pc problems..teacher correct?  Sorry for  the mix up especially if I'm still wrong.

Mum-  I just sent them all my applications, letter of intent and portfolio.  I'm hoping to hear from them in the next few weeks.

Queen-  Glad to hear from you...that you are safe but also, having a great time!!! Awesome!

My doctor just requested another test (MRI) for the cyst.  Sheesh, why the MRI?

I can't keep my eyes open any longer so I'm gonna hit the pillow.

I'm attaching a pic of my dog Jada on the beach today.  It wasn't raining and that alone was enough to rejoice.

Have a good night girls.

Betty, yes, ~sigh~ I'm dancing the Foxtrot again. :D Oh what the hell, it's been going on for nearly 16 years now so I guess it's a pretty damn tough gossamer thread. I've also come to realise that he's been testing me. I told him I wasn't going anywhere, so he pushes. Reminds me of an adolescent kid. ::) I've been chesty lately, and he wants us to quit smoking together. I guess that tells me something.  Yes, skype me for the complete skeet. :D

Wendy, that would frighten the life out of me, with the baby and the pool. Glad to hear you'll be getting your privacy back soon.

Camms, an MRI for an ovarian cyst? Sounds like over-kill of the first order. Why don't they just deal with it for you? You've already got a history and once you get one, many women seem to be prone to having more. They're annoying as hell. Hope you get this resolved soon. And good luck with the application! I love your photo - aside from the dog being beautiful, I also love the angle and the beach in the background. Great comp!

Andrea, my jaw dropped when I read that budget cuts are forcing the closure of summer school. Whatever happened to "no child left behind"? Sheesh! Did you mean you're hoping to babysit for the summer?

Hello and hugs to everyone,
Ann

Hey all,

Wendy, I bet you're counting down the days to get your own space back; I know I would be.

Camms, I love that picture.  It looks like it was professionally taken (but, that is part of what you do, isn't it).  Nice dog.

Ann, I'll try to catch up with you on skype sometime this weekend.  I hate it when people think they have to "test" others.  Like you said, just like a teen.  Grow up for God sake.

Today I have to meet with the lady who's going to hopefully help me find work.   I hope she's optomistic today.  This evening my school is having a book buy-back and I have three books from this last semester I won't be needing.  When I tried to sell them before online, they weren't buying.  So, I'm hoping they sell tonight.  If not, a couple of them are going probably to Goodwill.

I did get the largest mat out of my cat's fur.  She meowed and hissed and tried to bite me again.  I got a couple things at the pet store to help with that.  I think I may have been a bit rough though, or somesuch, and that's why she took it so badly.  I know she won't trust letting me groom her again anytime soon.  But, small victory.          You ladies have a good day.

Hey ladies-

Thanks for the nice compliments.  Actually, photography is something I have really loved and have started more and more as a hobby.  My work is usually web graphics and design, like brochures etc.

Ann- So you're foxtrotting again.  Now I really need to skype since I can hear the details  ;)  Do you guys have a head set, do I need one?  I just went to the website and going to set it up today.

BT-  I have a hard enough time clipping my cat's nails.  I can't even imagine combing her.  But then again, she's a short hair.

Today is a running around type of day. Have to return the new scanner I bought from Target, grrrrrr.  I was going to buy a wireless scanner and decided to go for cheaper.  Now I am smothering under more wires than I desire.

Everyone, have a great day.  Cheers!

I think it's funny you ladies have a hard time grooming your cats. I never did with Lucifer. But I started him on grooming when he was a kitten. I don't have him anymore but I still check on him. His new owner is getting him declawed because Lucifer put a hole in some new furniture the guy bought. I thought that was funny though not to the guy I am sure. But I use to clip his claws. Speaking of claws, I am having a hard time typing with these damn nails but they sure look nice...*lol*

I guess they have started sending out the stimulus checks but I didn't get mine yet. I am kinda bummed because I didn't get mine yet but my sister and friend got theirs already. I wonder if they are going by the last 2 digits again?

Skype, yeah I had downloaded it once but had no one to talk to so I took it off my computer. Keeping, I hope you are feeling better. I haven't been on Yahoo messenger lately but I do have AIM on my phone if anyone wants to hit me up....Screenname is EbonyAkasha....

Otherwise, everything is fine here and I am having the time of my life.... ;D

Camms, as long as you have sound through your speakers, all you need is a mic. I have a headset with mic attached, but I hang it around my neck (so the mic is near my mouth) and get the audio through my speakers. The ear things on my headset hurt, that's the only reason I don't use them.

Mum, Skype is probably the best Instant Messanger/Voice to Voice software available (IMO). You can also use it to call landline phones or mobile phones at a fraction of the cost, especially when it's long distance. I've talked to people via my computer to their phone in the States for hours, for just a couple quid. Going phone to phone would have cost at least a tenner or so. It costs nothing to download and use computer to computer. If you want to make calls computer to phone, you put some money in your account.

http://www.skype.com/

I've got nothing on today except the usual (here) and paying some bills. Hope everyone's having a good one!

Morning all,

Camms, I would never attempt to cut my kitty's nails.  She'd have a fit.

Queen, I got my cat when she was 2 years old, so I couldn't have started grooming her when she was a kitten.  But, I suppose that would be the way to do it.   I'm glad you're having fun.  What all are you doing?

I've had skype for awhile now.  I've talked to Ann, Matty, and a couple other people.  It's really pretty cool, because I can do it for free.  I haven't used it to talk computer to phone.  I use a headset when I skype.

Today I'm going to really scrub my kitchen floor, my therapist is coming over, and the HIV support group is tonight.  I may go to Goodwill and try to find a jewelry box.  Pretty soon I'm going to have to get some baby clothes for my daughter's new baby.  I usually like to wait until after the baby's born.  And I'm ready to bleach my hair back to blonde.  I don't know that I'm going to do it, it's just a thought.  Nothing other than that.  You all have a good day.

Good morning!

Camms- LOL! Yep, you got it right. I just love the picture of your dog! So cute!

Ann- The only thing I know about Skype is that Oprah uses it. LOL!

Queen- How long are you going to be in New York?

Wendy- It must feel nice to have the house to yourself. How old is the baby again? When you were talking about the pool I was remembering my brother having swimming lessons when he was 2. That might give you some peace of mind.

Betty- Bleach your hair blonde? Didn't you just go darker? Bored already huh?  :) Are you still working with that group? I think you were feeding and handing out supplies?

Mum- The kids here go to June 12th. Did I already tell you that? If I did I'm sorry... :)

Nothing much happening. It's Thursday which is one day closer to Friday!

Camms- Where are you again?  Is that beach in walking distance?  Your dog is so cute!  I love great danes.  I cant stand a bunch of wires either.

Queen- Glad you are having fun and enjoying yourself.

Viv-I am suprised we will still be having summer school around here.  Our last day of school is the June 25th and the first day back is Aug 31st, so it will be a short summer here.

BT-Skpe is pretty cool. I haven't used it in years, the guy I was working for got it because he was too cheap to get phones in the office, didn't do much good when the computer was stolen though :)  I hope that lady is able to help you to find a good job.

Ann- That sounds like the best kind of relationship to me, being with someone but not living with them. I like to have my own space and time.  My new favorite saying is "Are you fucking kidding me?"  I used to just think it ,but now I say it out loud.  This morning for example, he was taking his mother to the doc and needed to borrow my car and asks for my keys.  This normally wouldn't be a problem except that I was going the bathroom.  He actually stood there waiting for the keys, like I would have them with me while sitting on the toilet. UUggh! makes me nuts, especially when there is two places I always leave the keys and neither of them is on me or in the bathroom.  I could go on forever.

I am going to try to clean up today. Two different days this week, I have had my son or daughter home.  Pink eye has gone through all the boys now, I thought my daughter might have allergies but the doc thinks it might be viral.  She could have picked it up at the hospital.  I had taken her Monday to have her yearly check up for her hips, she was breech and in a pavlic when she was a baby.  They told me she should be fine now because the studies have shown that if they have had no more issues by 5, they usually don't have anymore problems.  I need to call and find a primary doc so I can get my wrist checked.  Suddenly last week I had a strange bump pop out right where you bend your wrist, on the outside.  It doesn't really hurt unless I press down on it.  It kinda feels like it might be a cyst, it is not hard enough to be bone.
I hope everyone has a good day!

Snow, the "thing" on your wrist is probably called a ganglion cyst.  I had one years ago when I was a transcriptionist.  I don't really know what they do for them now.  When I had mine, I had an old-fashioned doctor, who smashed it (honestly).  It went away and hasn't come back.  I'm not saying you should do that, of course.

Yup, I think you are right. I called the doctor that removed the cyst I had on my head and that is exactly what she said. I looked it up on-line and almost saw an exact picture of my wrist. LOL. I think I will just leave it alone for now, don't think I will hit it out, sounds too painful!
Thanks, BT!

I've had a cyst, too.  I got it when i was an interpretor.  I used a wrist brace that kept it from bending and it went away.  My doctor told me that the "old" cure was to smash it with the big family Bible.  It usually worked, barring hitting it too hard and breaking your wrist.  I passed.

I'll have Hubby check out Skype.  We don't pay long distance on our phone as long as we call inside the U.S.  I think that's how his parents call us from Honduras.  Is there anyway to hook up cams so you can see who you are talking to?  We have a web cam, but I have no idea how to use it.

Kids have ball games tonight.  Our youngest has microcephaly (a very below average size head.  At 5 her head is 17 inches).  For T-ball, they still have to wear batting helmets.  Her's is so stinkin' big that when she runs, it turns around backwards and she can't see.  She doesn't stop running, though.  She usually ends up smashing into the fence and laughing.  Typically, the coaches aren't allowed to touch the kids on the field, but the other teams are understanding and let the coach hold her hand.  Before they made the exception, she'd end up running in circles in the outfield instead of 2nd base.  It really is funny.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Hubby and I are going out to lunch and to see "Star Trek" tomorrow after co-op.

I had a cyst in my lower lip when I was a teen. Talk about your full lips LOL  The doctor cut it out from the inside of my lip. Looked like a pea sized balloon made of pink flesh.

Viv -The baby is 14 months old. We dont have the house to ourselves yet.  ;)

Hello friends,

Bt-  Mazzy, my cat, has to be rolled up in a towel or she will out of control when I cut her nails.  So what's the deal with your hair?  Feel like you just can't get used to it?  Too dark for your complexion.

Snow- I live right next to the beach.  About 40 paces from my door you are at the beach.  The cottage is located on the top of a little hill that leads to the beach.  Jada is an amazing dog.  She's my constant companion.

Mum-  That must be such a hoot watching the kids play t-ball.   I saw a great clip yesterday of a little guy hitting the ball and bumped another little guy.  But when he fell he did a somersault.  It was hysterical.  I was looking for it online but can't locate it.

I think I too would pass on the "whacking of the cyst". I had a subcutaneous cyst behind my ear.  It got so large and infected.  It was truly, one of the very worst pains ever.  I had to have it lanced about 4 times.  But the first time it was lance,  the doctor injected the localized anesthesia and tears burst out of my eye ducts so forcefully that my tears shot out from the sides like in a cartoon.  The doctor told me to scream if I had to ....but I just bursted with tears instead.

Well I'm having a count down to Atlantic City with my mom next week.  I can't wait to spend the time with just the two of us.  We're gonna do a spa....facials and of course gamble.  My mom hates spas, and being pampered...I think she's doing it for me.  She does her nails once a week so maybe she'll go for the manicure.

Ok, getting sleepy and head is getting fuzzy.

Anyway, hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday evening.

Camms

Morning all,

Mum, cute story about your daughter with microcephaly.  I hope you and hubby have a really good time today going out to lunch and seeing Star Trek.

Wendy, I can't believe the baby's 14 months old already.

Camms, wow, Atlantic City.  Sounds like a lot of fun.   It's very hard to go from blonde to a darker color.  When I first got my hair done, I thought it looked silver-ish (like an older person's).  It's not really too dark for my complexion, just very hard to get used to.

I haven't bleached my hair yet, though.  I'm going to wait and see if I can get used to this or not.  I'm thinking that if I let it grow out, it will be back to my normal color.  And until I get a job, I'm not going to be able to afford going to the hairdresser's every month to get it colored (or every other month for that matter).  As you all know, getting hair colored professionally is quite expensive.  With bleaching it, I bleach it myself.

My therapist and his wife got me a Bulova watch for my graduation.  When I first got home from the whole lunch thing after graduation, I looked it up online and saw it's an over $200 watch.  Well, the problem is, is that I can hardly get it off my wrist at night.  It takes about 15 minutes.  It's a snap thing and it causes me to get pissed every time I try to get it off.  So, I was thinking about taking the gift receipt and exchanging it for one that's easier to get closed.  My question is, do you all think that's tacky, since it was a gift?  It really is a pretty watch, but spending so much time on it at night to get it off is driving me insane.  I may do that this morning (exchange it).  I was going to check out this meat market not too far from me.  I've lived by it for four years and have never been there.  And I see the lawyer today to sign some papers.               You all have a good day.

:'( HELP I  am going nuts, literally! I really feel I am losing it! So much going on and I am stressed out! I don't no where to start, oh is there anything  a woman can take for here libido??? I don't have desire for sex, due to fatigue and maybe the hysterectomy???It has been seven years since living with a man and oh I am not use to having sex but maybe the few times I got lucky. What is wrong with me?? I had more desire before marriage.! This is causing some problems that I hope to work out.
problem no.2 I had a edg test this week. They put me to sleep and insert tube with camera in my throat to look at my organs.the results sofar are I have a hiatal hernia, which can cause the problems I am having with my stomach. I am on a acid reflux diet. I also had to go for a nuclear iv test the next day to see how my gallbladder is working and results are not in yet.
no. 3 problem-- Remeber the visit to the gyn oncology specailist? where I had a colposcopy and biopsy?? Well they called and we went in for my results, whic were not great and I have cell 1 dysplasia which thedoc wants to treat with laser surgery or radiation, now let me tell you raidation on your vajayjay ?? a no no...too much complications, so I opted for a laser copectomy, which is less painful and no bleeding. I have to have this 350.000.00 dollar laser skim of a thin layer of my vajayjay to remove the pre-cancerous cells. Ok my surgery is next Friday- one day surgery, should be fine afterwards except I have to keep all doctor apointments which are weekly because he has to open my vajayjay so it won't close shut which healing from the surgery !!!!! what the fuck!!!!! and no sex for six weeks!!! my poor dh!. OK the only positive thing I can see from this is that maybe the surgery will make my vajayjay tight ??? lol!!!! I have had a hysterectomy so all this is do to the hpv virus, and yes you can get cancer of the vajayjay !!!!the last option is to do nothing and hope it doesn't get to cell 4 which is cancer. well here are the new hairdo pics.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I need a drink.
Queen- so happy for you, have a great time!
Betty- congrats again, exchange the watch if you want
Camms- have fun in atlantic city, hope all is well with your test

Netta-
Sorry to hear about everything that is going on.  I don't anything that enhances my libido except smoking a joint.  I think your upcoming surgery, your stomach problems, ontop of the fatigue and hysterectomy might be contributing to you not wanting to have sex.  That is a ton to deal with, at this point, I wouldn't worry too much about your DH but concentrate on your health and getting through the surgery and healing 100%.

BT- I wouldn't blame you for exchanging the watch, if it takes you that long to put it on and off.  Maybe if you take it in, they can show you an easier way?

Camms- I hope you have lots of fun and luck at Atlantic City, I have never had a spa day but it sounds like fun to me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we get a casino here in Mass soon.  They have been going back in forth about it for awhile.  I think we should keep the money in the state, now everyone just travels to CT.

Mum- Have fun at the movies.

I kept all the kids home today.  All 3 boys were coughing, along with my daughter, who also woke up with pink eye, which I think, I have now too :(  Figures when the weather starts to get nice we all get sick and stuck in the house.  I was planning to go to my fathers today too, hopefully, next week.

People suck!  My SO went to a funeral today for his friends daughter and when they were at the funeral home, someone robbed their house.  Nothing like kicking someone when they are down.

smoking pot never made me horny. It just made me hungry and sleepy. LOL not my thing

hormones or rather the lack of them is probably the problem with your libido.
