LT#59: Graduations, Spring Cleaning and New Beginnings
« on: May 09, 2009, 07:40:29 am »
It seemed to be that time again, so here's a new thread...

First off, Happy Mother's Day to all you in the USofA.

Next, Happy Graduation Day to our Betty!
Ditch the nerves, woman, and enjoy every minute. You so deserve it! I can't wait to see a photo of you in your cap and gown.

Anyone else doing some spring cleaning? I have - it's been sorely needed. When I moved into this house just over two years ago, my back was acting up and instead of doing the clear-out I wanted to while packing, everything just got tossed into boxes and shoved into closets here. I have a closet in my kitchen that goes way back under the stairs and it's chocka with "stuff". I guess most of it can get tossed as most of it I don't miss. Of course, sod's law, the couple things I DO miss are right at the back. I'm saving this closet for last - so far I've done my bedroom (complete wardrobe reshuffle) and the pantry. I've also still got the garden shed to do - it's like aladdin's cave out there.

My daughter is also graduating from university this spring - although her ceremony isn't until July. Her father and I are going over to Leicester for two days, and we're picking up my ex-mother-in-law on the way. Thank-goodness we all get along! I can't tell you all how proud I am of her. She's known about my hiv status almost from day one and she never let it interfer with her own life. She's a trooper.

I had other stuff to say - but I'm having a brain-fog moment. ::) I'm sure it will come to me later!

Hey Ladies-

I posted this under the wrong thread.  I don't know where my head is lately.  I just back my test results and the cd4 is not very exciting.  I  got retested on Friday.  I want to go back to school but I'm very limited.  I want my graduate degree in graphic design, but no school in my state offers a program.  So i thought online.  However, there are very few schools.  The one that is perfect for my career path is $52,000.  I almost cried when I found that out.  I am currently applying for financial aid but I'm stuck because I just filled out the paper work and I need to put in my  2008  tax info.  It doesn't apply to my life now because I had to file jointly and my bank account was shared with my exhusband. It's so frustrating.

It turns out I have a large cyst on my ovary.  I don't know how they're gonna proceed.  Either birth control pills (which I'm not happy about) or a  D and C?  The technician was really great....I had her a few years ago.  I had two procedures done....a pelvic and transvaginal ultra sound.  I asked her if they named the "wand" that they used for the transvaginal (for in office kicks).  She said not YET...laughing.
I'm happy that it's only a cyst which is benign.

Well, it was sunny for awhile but now a new storm is blowing through.

Hope you ladies had a nice weekend so far.

Hugs,

Camms

God, please let this work.

Edited:  That's about as good as it gets.  I can't get any other picture to get to a small enough size.  The pics turned out a little dark, but hopefully you can make me out.

Ann, I did a little spring cleaning, but it sounds like you're on a roll.  Congrats to your daughter.

Camms, sorry about your CD4 cells.  About the master's degree, can you take out loans to pay for it?  Just wondering.  I know it's expensive.  Heck, where I went to school, it's $298 per credit hour.

Anyway, the graduation was pretty good, except for the commencement speech.  It was given by a self-made steel tycoon, who started spewing his political views, and of course, he was Republican.  He was going on about how government shouldn't be as involved as they are, and things are bordering on "socialism."  I wanted to yell, "we don't care about your fucking opinion."  But, anyway..... My best friend drove, my brother and his girlfriend went, and my therapist and his wife were there.  They (therapist and wife) took us all out to dinner afterwards and gave me a Bulova watch.  They're really good friends; hell, I've been seeing him for so long (18 years), they should be friends.  They stood godparents to my granddaughter when she was a wee one.  So, that was my day.  I hope you all are having a good one.

I think I may be able to attach one more pic, hopefully.  It's of me getting the folder to put the diploma in.

Happy Mothers Day to everyone!  I also include pet moms:)

Betty, thanks for including the pics.  Sounds like you had a perfect day.

Netta,  do you feel good about it.  Sometimes drastic changes to our hair is a reflection of change. Looking forward to the pics.

I have a busy day today.  Going to church and meeting up with my siblings and mom for Japanese.  It's gonna be strange.  We decided to take just my mom out and then do the same for my father on his day.  They're practically inseparable.

It's sunny this morning with a strong breeze.  Reminds me of early fall.  It's beautiful.  I'll pass it to you all.

Hugs,

Camms

Betty, your pictures made me mist up. I'm really proud of you. Shame about the republican ruining the ceremony.

Camms, sorry to hear about your cyst. I've had four ovarian cyst operations so far. They've also done a laser whatsis on me - both inside and outside my uterus - for endometriosis. I got a two-for-one bargain that time - they removed a cyst at the same time.

I'm surprised they're talking about putting you on the Pill instead of just removing it and being done with it.They usually only go that route when it's a small cyst that isn't causing any pain. Ovarian cysts tend to grow on little stalks that can twist and cause immense pain. The third time I had one, they first suspected I had appendicitis because I was in so much pain. The last time I had one, they thought it was a tubal pregnancy because I was about four weeks pregnant at the time. (lost that baby - it had already died by the time they did the op. Got a two-for-one bargain that time too - they clipped my tubes while they were in there.) They can be dangerous when they twist (strangulate) as well - something about the blood supply to the cyst being cut off, causing the tissue to die and go septic.

The op isn't too bad, they do it by laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) and you can usually have it done as a one-day surgery. (LOL - spell check just suggested periscope for laparoscopy) It's only two tiny incisions - one in your belly button and one just to the side and above your pubic bone. They only take one stitch each to close. The recovery isn't bad either, it's only a couple days of slight soreness. I can't see why they'd be talking about a D&C - that only affects the cervix and inside of the womb. Good luck with this Camms. If I were you, and still in pain, I'd ask about having a laparoscopy done. Going the Pill route can take a lot of time for it to resolve, and it doesn't always work either.

Netta, how long were your dreds? I should get my hair cut short too, but I can never bring myself to do it.

Hope all you mothers are having a nice Mother's Day. My daughter texted me earlier to say "Happy American Mother's Day" LOL

Morning all,

Netta, do you like your new do?  I'm sure you look fine.  I didn't know you had dreds.  I just had some darker color put in my hair about a week ago.  I had been bleaching my hair for years, and I decided it was time to go back to my natural color.  The hairdresser only highlighted it darker; she didn't want me to be in total shock.

Camms, I hope you have a good day today with your mom and siblings.

Ann, I've had three laparoscopies.  My gallbladder was taken out that way, I had my tubes tied that way, and I had one for pelvic pain.  I have three or four tiny scars.  I'm sure the extra holes came from the gallbladder surgery.  They really are nothing to recover from.  I think the worst part for me was the pain from the gas they blow you up with.  Not bad, though.  Much easier than being slashed open from one side to the other.

I'm going to my oldest sister's this afternoon.  It's still hard for me on holidays.  I miss my mum and wish she and my dad would have been there yesterday.  People tell me "they're looking down," but it's not the same as them being here to talk to me directly.  Anyway, that's going to be my day.  Happy mother's day to us all and you all have a good one.

Hey Ladies-

Welcome to the week.

Ann-  Same time last year, I had small ovarian cysts which one had twisted and popped.  It was very painful.  Now, its a new one that's much larger. My primary care doc had ordered the ultra sound last week (she suggested the pill or d&c).   I have to call my gyno today for an appointment and figure this out.
Wow, you've been through the grinder with your insides.  Endometriosis is no walk in the park.

I can go really crazy with the hair.  I had it dyed dark red/eggplant for years.  Went from long to extreme short.  Had a pixie haircut bleached a pale blond.  I have been letting it grow and going for the highlights to hide the gray.  But even that I have neglected purposely.  It's very expensive and with thoughts of school on the horizon, I have to cut all extraneous spending.  BTW-  sent out my application last night online to the school in san fran.

I hope everyone had a great mothers day.   Cute story Ann.

Betty-  I suppose it a strange day for  a lot of people.  I know I have feelings of longing not having any children.  There was a time I was trying, but my exhusband's heart was whatever happens happens.
I hope that you had a nice time with at your sisters.

Everyone have a nice Monday.

Hugs,

Camms

I am SO glad last week is OVER!  It just about killed me.  But, as always, by curtain Friday night everything came together beautifully.  It was one of the best written concerts we've done.  My poor old body is still trying to recover.

Ann, yes I've started my spring cleaning.  Seems I just finished last year's when I had to start this year's. It's been so cold, wet, and unspring-like this year that it's hard to get motivated.  We've made our list of summer projects: painting our room, the girls' room, hallway and living room, pulling up the carpet in our room, the girls' room, and hallway and laying down bamboo flooring, changing out the sliding glass door and the wooden front door.  It always seems to be something.

Betty: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!  I noticed you decided against the new color for graduation.  Let the job hunt begin (oh, joy!).

This is our last week of school.  I'm just as excited as the kids are for it to be over.  I ordered their summer workbooks which we'll start the end of June.  As soon as they finish them (with 90% accuracy on each page), their summer school is over.  We also set aside 30 minutes a day for quiet reading.  That we mostly do sitting together under a tree or on our back deck.  They'll do that all summer.

Hope all of you had a wonderful day yesterday.  As usual, it was organized chaos here.  If it wasn't, I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

Morning all,

Cristy, I hope you're all well soon.

Latrice, a couple people have asked me "are you going to go on to get your master's?"  I tell them "hell no, not for a long time."  I'm really burned out on studying.  Anyway, only one more class, aye?  Congrats.

Camms, I hear you on the hair.  There was one time I dyed my hair jet black.  It just did not go with my pale complexion, but I thought I looked pretty cool.  Horrible.

Mum, the concert sounds wonderful.  And yes, I did get my hair done.  The beautician highlighted it with my natural color instead of coloring the whole thing.  I really like it.  I realize it doesn't show up very good in the pics, but the cap is covering most of it.

I think today I'm going to get my watch sized.  And I have to go to the bank and do something with the money I have in there that's over $300, so the trustee doesn't take it when I file.  I may put it on a bank visa gift card.  That way I'll have a receipt, the trustee can't prove otherwise if I say it was a present for someone, and I'm not walking around with a lot of cash (not like I have a lot extra anyway).  I think my landlord may call this morning about fixing the hole in the bathroom door. He called Saturday, but after I left.  That's about it so far.  You all have a nice day.

betty - congrats again, im proud of you girl

camms - im glad your cyst is benign. i hope your CD4s come back better with the retest

keeping - happy anniversary!!! how you guys celebrating?

christy - i hope u're feeling better

netta - what are you going to do with your hair?  my afro had grown about one inch or so and i couldnt comb it properly it was so painful. got it braided and had a weave coz i was starting to look embarrassing.i do envy men sometimes, they just go to the barber once a month and forget about it. none of the hair-frying and braiding and shampooing moisturising and oil treatments etc etc that we go thru with our hair

mr-out-of-town just showed up out of the blue on friday. he came in town on business with his boss.  they left the next day. i tried but its just not happening for me anymore. spent the weekend with my mum, aunt and sisters (note to self: get a life!). we were dissing men like crazy. remember my aunt's ex who had run off with another woman and then came back with his tail between his legs? he didnt spend the night at home and im sure his ears were ringing like mad wherever he was coz thats all we were (nastily) talking about.  i wonder if she'll ever kick his broke ass to the curb like she threatens.

Happy Belated Mother's Day to everyone!

I laid low yesterday, I had planted flowers and grass seed and was out in the yard all day Saturday so my body hurt.  My SO cooked for everyone all day yesterday so that was nice( good thing I am writing it down, it doesn't happen often)

BT-  ;D I was expecting your hair to be dark, that is a great pic!

Ten-  Men bashing is always a nice stress reliever! that must have been fun.

Mum- Glad your night went well.  I have a long list of things I want to get done to my house too this summer, it just never ends.

Keeping- I hope you have a nice day.  Just to let you know.....the end of the movie sucked  ;D

Camms-  I have changed my hair a lot over the years too.  It is so expensive to get it cut and dyed when it is long, but for my hair it is easier to take care of.  I got my hair cut last week and the women next to me was getting her extensions taken out and then sowed back in, that must be a pretty penny.  She had hair like in your pic but red, I think she just wanted it longer. I hope things work out for school.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

I just got my results back from the cd4.  Drum roll please...
407, which is a big difference for the below 200 I posted.  I'm happy since I think that's my highest cd 4 number in the last three years.  It was always hovering in the mid 300s until the decline.  Now I'm really looking forward to the 500 mark :)

Everyone have a great day

Congratulations Betty and congratulations to you too Cam.

I have not done any spring cleaning. We have too many guests in the house right now to even consider it. But our front door was stained. We chose a green stain. I'll take a picture sometime and show you.
And we got a new closet door today. The old one was falling off the tracks and scraping the wood. Little by little Billy has been making improvements on the house. He has been talking about selling the house and getting some place smaller with no lawn or little lawn to care for. Posssibly a townhouse. Who knows. I dont dread the idea of a smaller home. I just dont want to move from this area.

Anywho when the house clears out and its just me and Billy again I'll tackle the decluttering that comes with spring cleaning.

I hope you all had a nice Mothers day.

Morning all,

Tendai, I really hope your aunt gets smart, and gets rid of that man who keeps messing around.  I hate it when women settle for less than they're worth.  Man bashing can be very cleansing. ;)

Netta, that food sounds really good!

Snow, thanks. :-*  And, my hair is darker in spots, but it didn't show up in the picture.  When I went to the hairdresser, she highlighted it my natural color instead of doing the whole head, for fear of shock.  For some reason, only the blonde shows up in the pictures.

Camms, great news on your CD4 count!  Congrats.

Wendy, I didn't know you had a lot of company.  I used to live in a townhouse, and it was pretty nice.

I got my social security card in the mail yesterday, so I'm going to take that to housing today (section 8), so they can make a copy.  I'm going to get the watch sized that my therapist and his wife got me, and I'm going to try to find something to take the mats out of my cat's fur.  I wish she would let me put her in the kitty carrier to take her to the vet, but she's not having that.  If she were a small cat, I could maneuver her around so I could get her in there.  But, she's pretty big, and trying to get her in by myself has been impossible.  My landlord should be here bright and early to finish fixing the hole in the bathroom door (he filled it in yesterday).  The hole wasn't bad, but housing cited the landlord for it, hence the apartment didn't pass the inspection.  That hole has been there since I moved in, and I've had two inspections previous to this one.  I guess it depends which inspector someone gets.  Oh well.           Other than that, I'm probably going to read.  I hope you all have a good one.

Wendy, sorry about the house full of folks. Hopefully they'll be gone soon and you can get back to your routine.  Hubby and I lived in a nice townhouse when we were in college.  The landlord was flexable about letting us paint and decorate the way I wanted.  There was a small privacy-fenced patio in the back that was easy to care for.  The only thing I didn't like was sharing 2 walls with the neighbors.  Too close for comfort.  Also, with the baby, having a yard might be easier - she can get out and play.

Betty, I'm suprised someone hadn't made the landlord fix the door before now.  Oh, well, at least you get a door out of it.

Camms, congrats on the new numbers.  Good luck on getting into the design college.  When will you know?

I did precious little yesterday.  We had school, I folded some laundry and read my book.  Hubby and the 3 boys got the yard mowed.  They just got finished when we had one serious thunder storm.  Both ball games were cancelled.  Then, as quickly as it started, the clouds rolled away and the sun came out.  Then, at 7:30, it started again.  This time with HAIL!  It's the middle of May and we had 2 inches of hail in our yard! Good grief!  Can we please have Spring already???  We've not planted anything for fear of the frost.  It will get warm, won't it?

Health Access called yesterday and said that all I have to do is get an update from DHHR saying that I'm still not eligible for a medical card.  I called yesterday and left a message.  I'm hoping they can just send me a letter and I don't have to go back and do the paperwork again.  What's going to suck is if I've gone through all of this just to get denied by HA, too.

Not much planned for today.  More school and more housework.  Have a good one.

Cristy, hope you're feeling better soon.

Mum, bamboo flooring? What's that like? I need to pull up the carpet in my bathroom - I hate carpet in the bathroom. There used to be a small carpet/lino shop in town here, but he went out of business last winter and I missed the closing down sale. I could have kicked myself, I probably could have done the floor for just a couple quid, as everyone said his prices were next to nothing. Now I'll have to get someone with a car to take me into Douglas so I can buy some lino. It will probably have to wait until my daughter comes home from uni. Good luck with the Home Access! They've certainly given you the run around for long enough.

Betty, the closest I've ever come to colouring my hair was using henna once, years ago. I've never been one for fussing with my hair and these days it's usually in a braid down my back. When I was a kid, we had a Persian cat who used to get mats all the time. my mother used to make a few snips in the mat with scissors, then tease it out with a fine-toothed comb. Took ages and the cat didn't like it much, but the mats were so icky. Especially the ones she'd get around her bottom. (I know, TMI!) ;D

Tendai, dissing men is one of my favourite hobbies. Foxtrot has been behaving himself lately, so I haven't had much to bitch about for about a month now. ;D

Keeping, what number anniversary did you and your DH celebrate? Foxtrot and I have been back together again for just about eighteen months now - I don't know where the time has gone.

Netta, you made me hungry. I haven't had watermelon in ages - we don't see it much here and when it is available, it's way pricey.

Camms, that's great news about your CD4s. That other result must definitely been a lab screw-up. Endometriosis does indeed suck. I don't know if I still have it or not though, I had to stop the therapy they had me on after the op. Since I've been poz, my periods were getting heavier and heavier and were lasting up to two weeks sometimes. They were absolutely draining. I had a Mirena coil fitted a year ago this past February and it's supposed to completely stop your periods within a couple months. I'm still getting periods though, but they're manageable now. When I asked the gyno about it, he said that it just proved how bad my periods were, because when they're really bad, they won't go away completely. Just my luck, was looking forward to not having them. At least I don't feel incapacitated for three weeks (one week recovery time) out of every flaming month anymore. Can't complain, really, but what the hell... ;D

Wendy, how much longer do you expect to have guests? It seems like you have a full house more often than not. I think that would drive me nuts, I like my own space too much and I don't even live with Foxtrot for that very reason. I've gotten used to having the house to myself since the child has been away at uni. She was planning on moving to a flat with one of her mates after graduation, but we're not so sure she'll be able to afford it now. At least she has a job to come home to - a cafe she's worked at since she was 14. They absolutely love her. Good thing too with the way the economy is right now, jobs are getting scarce.

I'm off to mow the lawn before it gets too long again. We had a lot of rain last week, so it's growing like mad.

Good morning everyone! I have been out of the habit of posting for so long...

Camms- I'm glad your numbers are higher then you expected. Also, I think you are getting me and Cristy confused.... :D

Wendy- I am such a bad host. I can't stand being out of my routine and would not do well with house guest.

Betty- I guess it is safe to assume that your cat would definitely not go to the groomer, huh?

Mum- Wow! Your school year ends early. Do all the kids have "summer school"?

Well, my year is winding down and it seems like there is more to do now then in the whole year. I am so READY for summer. This will be my first time in 8 years that I am not teaching summer school. Of course it's not by choice. Budget cuts have forced summer school to be canceled except for high school. I am going to try to babysit a friend's baby. Anyways....it's only Tuesday and I am already exhausted!

Have a good day my favorite ladies!

Ann, the bamboo floor looks EXACTLY like regular hard wood floors, but it's more environmentally friendly.  It could take decades for a tree to grow 60 feet.  Bamboo takes 45 days to grow 60ft.  We're using it because it's cheap.  Here they even make clothes out of it.  It is softer than cotton and wears like armor.

Andrea, we're not "bound" by public school schedule. We can start and stop pretty much when we want.  Public schools here don't get out until June 5th because of snow days.  We didn't take off for snow days, though.

The legislature is trying to make a law getting rid of the mandatory June 5th rule that states no matter how many snow days we've had, the school year can't go past June 5th.  They want to make it law that schools can't have a Christmas break until they've had 90 days of school.  And, they can't have Spring break until they've had 135 days.  Then, the school year can NOT end until 180 days in class has been achieved. Teachers and parents are enraged.  There's also talk about extending the school year from the middle of August until the end of June, giving kids only 6wks off for summer.

We have math workbooks that we work on during the summer.  Most of the home schooles we know do some kind of achedemic stuff during the summer time, esepecially if there's an area that the kids need help in.  Some do it because the kids love to do the work and don't want to stop.  Or, because they are in highschool and want to finish early.  Very few home schoolers take the entire summer off.

Hope everyone is having a good one!

Hello My Ladies----

I have skimmed over the posts so forgive me if I leave something out. Happy Mother's Day, sorry I wasn't logged on. I had a good one, though. I got roses, my nails done and went out to dinner. And I have been having a great time since I have gotten here. Though the people can be a bit rude, I do like it here. The best word I can describe it as being is entertaining and busy so make that 2 words. I must say I am deliriously happy and am now a taken woman.... :D And I am loving every minute of it. I feel like how Moonlight is with Ice, if I can compare it. So, I am feeling a new beginning definitely.

Congrats Betty and nice pics. You worked hard for it girl!!!! And you deserve it!!!! Netta, What????!!!! You cut the dreads? Well, I am sure you look just as good with the baby fro. Gonna grace us with a pic? Camms, good to hear from and sorry about the ovary. Gosh, I am trying to remember everything but just can't do it. I am sorry I haven't posted sooner but I wanted to stop in so no one would think I have gone missing. I have been on the go almost everyday. Though the past few days I have been chilling since my legs are sore from the workout at Bally's. Yeah, my baby is a gymrat and I tried to hang. I haven't given up but I just have to get past the pain...ugh! :P

I hope you all are doing well and maybe I will post a pic soon. I have missed you all....(((((Group Hug))))

Hey Queen! I'm so glad you're on cloud 9.  Good luck with the working out.

Andrea, my cat would probably have a heartattack if I ever tried to get her groomed.  Hell, I can't even get her in the kitty carrier to take her to the vet's, let alone a groomer's.

Mum, I really hope you get that health coverage soon.    As for the weather, it was 38 when I got up this morning, but now it's 65. But, we have not had hail.  I'm hoping warmer weather is right around the way.

And, Ann, Foxtrox again?  I just don't know what to say. :o  We'll definitely have to skype soon.

I got something to loosen the mats, and a finer-toothed comb.  I tried them on my kitty, and she bit me.  So, I'll try again later.  This is going to be fun.

Everyone should be gone by next week I think. Just me and Billy again. I'll look forward to short visits from family but I feel the need for privacy again. LOL

The baby cant run around in the back yard really because of the pool. She really loves water and does not understand that the water is deep and she will sink. So you have to be right next to her the entire time she is in the back yard. And the front yard of course has a street so thats not safe either.

hey Ladies-

Viv sorry.  Christy is Robert's mom right? And you just had the pc problems..teacher correct?  Sorry for  the mix up especially if I'm still wrong.

Mum-  I just sent them all my applications, letter of intent and portfolio.  I'm hoping to hear from them in the next few weeks.

Queen-  Glad to hear from you...that you are safe but also, having a great time!!! Awesome!

My doctor just requested another test (MRI) for the cyst.  Sheesh, why the MRI?

I can't keep my eyes open any longer so I'm gonna hit the pillow.

I'm attaching a pic of my dog Jada on the beach today.  It wasn't raining and that alone was enough to rejoice.

Have a good night girls.

Betty, yes, ~sigh~ I'm dancing the Foxtrot again. :D Oh what the hell, it's been going on for nearly 16 years now so I guess it's a pretty damn tough gossamer thread. I've also come to realise that he's been testing me. I told him I wasn't going anywhere, so he pushes. Reminds me of an adolescent kid. ::) I've been chesty lately, and he wants us to quit smoking together. I guess that tells me something.  Yes, skype me for the complete skeet. :D

Wendy, that would frighten the life out of me, with the baby and the pool. Glad to hear you'll be getting your privacy back soon.

Camms, an MRI for an ovarian cyst? Sounds like over-kill of the first order. Why don't they just deal with it for you? You've already got a history and once you get one, many women seem to be prone to having more. They're annoying as hell. Hope you get this resolved soon. And good luck with the application! I love your photo - aside from the dog being beautiful, I also love the angle and the beach in the background. Great comp!

Andrea, my jaw dropped when I read that budget cuts are forcing the closure of summer school. Whatever happened to "no child left behind"? Sheesh! Did you mean you're hoping to babysit for the summer?

Hello and hugs to everyone,
Ann

Hey all,

Wendy, I bet you're counting down the days to get your own space back; I know I would be.

Camms, I love that picture.  It looks like it was professionally taken (but, that is part of what you do, isn't it).  Nice dog.

Ann, I'll try to catch up with you on skype sometime this weekend.  I hate it when people think they have to "test" others.  Like you said, just like a teen.  Grow up for God sake.

Today I have to meet with the lady who's going to hopefully help me find work.   I hope she's optomistic today.  This evening my school is having a book buy-back and I have three books from this last semester I won't be needing.  When I tried to sell them before online, they weren't buying.  So, I'm hoping they sell tonight.  If not, a couple of them are going probably to Goodwill.

I did get the largest mat out of my cat's fur.  She meowed and hissed and tried to bite me again.  I got a couple things at the pet store to help with that.  I think I may have been a bit rough though, or somesuch, and that's why she took it so badly.  I know she won't trust letting me groom her again anytime soon.  But, small victory.          You ladies have a good day.

Hey ladies-

Thanks for the nice compliments.  Actually, photography is something I have really loved and have started more and more as a hobby.  My work is usually web graphics and design, like brochures etc.

Ann- So you're foxtrotting again.  Now I really need to skype since I can hear the details  ;)  Do you guys have a head set, do I need one?  I just went to the website and going to set it up today.

BT-  I have a hard enough time clipping my cat's nails.  I can't even imagine combing her.  But then again, she's a short hair.

Today is a running around type of day. Have to return the new scanner I bought from Target, grrrrrr.  I was going to buy a wireless scanner and decided to go for cheaper.  Now I am smothering under more wires than I desire.

Everyone, have a great day.  Cheers!

I think it's funny you ladies have a hard time grooming your cats. I never did with Lucifer. But I started him on grooming when he was a kitten. I don't have him anymore but I still check on him. His new owner is getting him declawed because Lucifer put a hole in some new furniture the guy bought. I thought that was funny though not to the guy I am sure. But I use to clip his claws. Speaking of claws, I am having a hard time typing with these damn nails but they sure look nice...*lol*

I guess they have started sending out the stimulus checks but I didn't get mine yet. I am kinda bummed because I didn't get mine yet but my sister and friend got theirs already. I wonder if they are going by the last 2 digits again?

Skype, yeah I had downloaded it once but had no one to talk to so I took it off my computer. Keeping, I hope you are feeling better. I haven't been on Yahoo messenger lately but I do have AIM on my phone if anyone wants to hit me up....Screenname is EbonyAkasha....

Otherwise, everything is fine here and I am having the time of my life.... ;D

Camms, as long as you have sound through your speakers, all you need is a mic. I have a headset with mic attached, but I hang it around my neck (so the mic is near my mouth) and get the audio through my speakers. The ear things on my headset hurt, that's the only reason I don't use them.

Mum, Skype is probably the best Instant Messanger/Voice to Voice software available (IMO). You can also use it to call landline phones or mobile phones at a fraction of the cost, especially when it's long distance. I've talked to people via my computer to their phone in the States for hours, for just a couple quid. Going phone to phone would have cost at least a tenner or so. It costs nothing to download and use computer to computer. If you want to make calls computer to phone, you put some money in your account.

http://www.skype.com/

I've got nothing on today except the usual (here) and paying some bills. Hope everyone's having a good one!

Morning all,

Camms, I would never attempt to cut my kitty's nails.  She'd have a fit.

Queen, I got my cat when she was 2 years old, so I couldn't have started grooming her when she was a kitten.  But, I suppose that would be the way to do it.   I'm glad you're having fun.  What all are you doing?

I've had skype for awhile now.  I've talked to Ann, Matty, and a couple other people.  It's really pretty cool, because I can do it for free.  I haven't used it to talk computer to phone.  I use a headset when I skype.

Today I'm going to really scrub my kitchen floor, my therapist is coming over, and the HIV support group is tonight.  I may go to Goodwill and try to find a jewelry box.  Pretty soon I'm going to have to get some baby clothes for my daughter's new baby.  I usually like to wait until after the baby's born.  And I'm ready to bleach my hair back to blonde.  I don't know that I'm going to do it, it's just a thought.  Nothing other than that.  You all have a good day.

Good morning!

Camms- LOL! Yep, you got it right. I just love the picture of your dog! So cute!

Ann- The only thing I know about Skype is that Oprah uses it. LOL!

Queen- How long are you going to be in New York?

Wendy- It must feel nice to have the house to yourself. How old is the baby again? When you were talking about the pool I was remembering my brother having swimming lessons when he was 2. That might give you some peace of mind.

Betty- Bleach your hair blonde? Didn't you just go darker? Bored already huh?  :) Are you still working with that group? I think you were feeding and handing out supplies?

Mum- The kids here go to June 12th. Did I already tell you that? If I did I'm sorry... :)

Nothing much happening. It's Thursday which is one day closer to Friday!

Camms- Where are you again?  Is that beach in walking distance?  Your dog is so cute!  I love great danes.  I cant stand a bunch of wires either.

Queen- Glad you are having fun and enjoying yourself.

Viv-I am suprised we will still be having summer school around here.  Our last day of school is the June 25th and the first day back is Aug 31st, so it will be a short summer here.

BT-Skpe is pretty cool. I haven't used it in years, the guy I was working for got it because he was too cheap to get phones in the office, didn't do much good when the computer was stolen though :)  I hope that lady is able to help you to find a good job.

Ann- That sounds like the best kind of relationship to me, being with someone but not living with them. I like to have my own space and time.  My new favorite saying is "Are you fucking kidding me?"  I used to just think it ,but now I say it out loud.  This morning for example, he was taking his mother to the doc and needed to borrow my car and asks for my keys.  This normally wouldn't be a problem except that I was going the bathroom.  He actually stood there waiting for the keys, like I would have them with me while sitting on the toilet. UUggh! makes me nuts, especially when there is two places I always leave the keys and neither of them is on me or in the bathroom.  I could go on forever.

I am going to try to clean up today. Two different days this week, I have had my son or daughter home.  Pink eye has gone through all the boys now, I thought my daughter might have allergies but the doc thinks it might be viral.  She could have picked it up at the hospital.  I had taken her Monday to have her yearly check up for her hips, she was breech and in a pavlic when she was a baby.  They told me she should be fine now because the studies have shown that if they have had no more issues by 5, they usually don't have anymore problems.  I need to call and find a primary doc so I can get my wrist checked.  Suddenly last week I had a strange bump pop out right where you bend your wrist, on the outside.  It doesn't really hurt unless I press down on it.  It kinda feels like it might be a cyst, it is not hard enough to be bone.
I hope everyone has a good day!

Snow, the "thing" on your wrist is probably called a ganglion cyst.  I had one years ago when I was a transcriptionist.  I don't really know what they do for them now.  When I had mine, I had an old-fashioned doctor, who smashed it (honestly).  It went away and hasn't come back.  I'm not saying you should do that, of course.

Yup, I think you are right. I called the doctor that removed the cyst I had on my head and that is exactly what she said. I looked it up on-line and almost saw an exact picture of my wrist. LOL. I think I will just leave it alone for now, don't think I will hit it out, sounds too painful!
Thanks, BT!

I've had a cyst, too.  I got it when i was an interpretor.  I used a wrist brace that kept it from bending and it went away.  My doctor told me that the "old" cure was to smash it with the big family Bible.  It usually worked, barring hitting it too hard and breaking your wrist.  I passed.

I'll have Hubby check out Skype.  We don't pay long distance on our phone as long as we call inside the U.S.  I think that's how his parents call us from Honduras.  Is there anyway to hook up cams so you can see who you are talking to?  We have a web cam, but I have no idea how to use it.

Kids have ball games tonight.  Our youngest has microcephaly (a very below average size head.  At 5 her head is 17 inches).  For T-ball, they still have to wear batting helmets.  Her's is so stinkin' big that when she runs, it turns around backwards and she can't see.  She doesn't stop running, though.  She usually ends up smashing into the fence and laughing.  Typically, the coaches aren't allowed to touch the kids on the field, but the other teams are understanding and let the coach hold her hand.  Before they made the exception, she'd end up running in circles in the outfield instead of 2nd base.  It really is funny.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Hubby and I are going out to lunch and to see "Star Trek" tomorrow after co-op.

I had a cyst in my lower lip when I was a teen. Talk about your full lips LOL  The doctor cut it out from the inside of my lip. Looked like a pea sized balloon made of pink flesh.

Viv -The baby is 14 months old. We dont have the house to ourselves yet.  ;)

Hello friends,

Bt-  Mazzy, my cat, has to be rolled up in a towel or she will out of control when I cut her nails.  So what's the deal with your hair?  Feel like you just can't get used to it?  Too dark for your complexion.

Snow- I live right next to the beach.  About 40 paces from my door you are at the beach.  The cottage is located on the top of a little hill that leads to the beach.  Jada is an amazing dog.  She's my constant companion.

Mum-  That must be such a hoot watching the kids play t-ball.   I saw a great clip yesterday of a little guy hitting the ball and bumped another little guy.  But when he fell he did a somersault.  It was hysterical.  I was looking for it online but can't locate it.

I think I too would pass on the "whacking of the cyst". I had a subcutaneous cyst behind my ear.  It got so large and infected.  It was truly, one of the very worst pains ever.  I had to have it lanced about 4 times.  But the first time it was lance,  the doctor injected the localized anesthesia and tears burst out of my eye ducts so forcefully that my tears shot out from the sides like in a cartoon.  The doctor told me to scream if I had to ....but I just bursted with tears instead.

Well I'm having a count down to Atlantic City with my mom next week.  I can't wait to spend the time with just the two of us.  We're gonna do a spa....facials and of course gamble.  My mom hates spas, and being pampered...I think she's doing it for me.  She does her nails once a week so maybe she'll go for the manicure.

Ok, getting sleepy and head is getting fuzzy.

Anyway, hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday evening.

Morning all,

Mum, cute story about your daughter with microcephaly.  I hope you and hubby have a really good time today going out to lunch and seeing Star Trek.

Wendy, I can't believe the baby's 14 months old already.

Camms, wow, Atlantic City.  Sounds like a lot of fun.   It's very hard to go from blonde to a darker color.  When I first got my hair done, I thought it looked silver-ish (like an older person's).  It's not really too dark for my complexion, just very hard to get used to.

I haven't bleached my hair yet, though.  I'm going to wait and see if I can get used to this or not.  I'm thinking that if I let it grow out, it will be back to my normal color.  And until I get a job, I'm not going to be able to afford going to the hairdresser's every month to get it colored (or every other month for that matter).  As you all know, getting hair colored professionally is quite expensive.  With bleaching it, I bleach it myself.

My therapist and his wife got me a Bulova watch for my graduation.  When I first got home from the whole lunch thing after graduation, I looked it up online and saw it's an over $200 watch.  Well, the problem is, is that I can hardly get it off my wrist at night.  It takes about 15 minutes.  It's a snap thing and it causes me to get pissed every time I try to get it off.  So, I was thinking about taking the gift receipt and exchanging it for one that's easier to get closed.  My question is, do you all think that's tacky, since it was a gift?  It really is a pretty watch, but spending so much time on it at night to get it off is driving me insane.  I may do that this morning (exchange it).  I was going to check out this meat market not too far from me.  I've lived by it for four years and have never been there.  And I see the lawyer today to sign some papers.               You all have a good day.

:'( HELP I  am going nuts, literally! I really feel I am losing it! So much going on and I am stressed out! I don't no where to start, oh is there anything  a woman can take for here libido??? I don't have desire for sex, due to fatigue and maybe the hysterectomy???It has been seven years since living with a man and oh I am not use to having sex but maybe the few times I got lucky. What is wrong with me?? I had more desire before marriage.! This is causing some problems that I hope to work out.
problem no.2 I had a edg test this week. They put me to sleep and insert tube with camera in my throat to look at my organs.the results sofar are I have a hiatal hernia, which can cause the problems I am having with my stomach. I am on a acid reflux diet. I also had to go for a nuclear iv test the next day to see how my gallbladder is working and results are not in yet.
no. 3 problem-- Remeber the visit to the gyn oncology specailist? where I had a colposcopy and biopsy?? Well they called and we went in for my results, whic were not great and I have cell 1 dysplasia which thedoc wants to treat with laser surgery or radiation, now let me tell you raidation on your vajayjay ?? a no no...too much complications, so I opted for a laser copectomy, which is less painful and no bleeding. I have to have this 350.000.00 dollar laser skim of a thin layer of my vajayjay to remove the pre-cancerous cells. Ok my surgery is next Friday- one day surgery, should be fine afterwards except I have to keep all doctor apointments which are weekly because he has to open my vajayjay so it won't close shut which healing from the surgery !!!!! what the fuck!!!!! and no sex for six weeks!!! my poor dh!. OK the only positive thing I can see from this is that maybe the surgery will make my vajayjay tight ??? lol!!!! I have had a hysterectomy so all this is do to the hpv virus, and yes you can get cancer of the vajayjay !!!!the last option is to do nothing and hope it doesn't get to cell 4 which is cancer. well here are the new hairdo pics.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I need a drink.
Queen- so happy for you, have a great time!
Betty- congrats again, exchange the watch if you want
Camms- have fun in atlantic city, hope all is well with your test

Netta-
Sorry to hear about everything that is going on.  I don't anything that enhances my libido except smoking a joint.  I think your upcoming surgery, your stomach problems, ontop of the fatigue and hysterectomy might be contributing to you not wanting to have sex.  That is a ton to deal with, at this point, I wouldn't worry too much about your DH but concentrate on your health and getting through the surgery and healing 100%.

BT- I wouldn't blame you for exchanging the watch, if it takes you that long to put it on and off.  Maybe if you take it in, they can show you an easier way?

Camms- I hope you have lots of fun and luck at Atlantic City, I have never had a spa day but it sounds like fun to me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we get a casino here in Mass soon.  They have been going back in forth about it for awhile.  I think we should keep the money in the state, now everyone just travels to CT.

Mum- Have fun at the movies.

I kept all the kids home today.  All 3 boys were coughing, along with my daughter, who also woke up with pink eye, which I think, I have now too :(  Figures when the weather starts to get nice we all get sick and stuck in the house.  I was planning to go to my fathers today too, hopefully, next week.

People suck!  My SO went to a funeral today for his friends daughter and when they were at the funeral home, someone robbed their house.  Nothing like kicking someone when they are down.

smoking pot never made me horny. It just made me hungry and sleepy. LOL not my thing

hormones or rather the lack of them is probably the problem with your libido.

Hello Ladies-

Netta--  the haircut looks great.  It sounds like a lot.  Maybe after the surgery and your body heals, you should get your hormone levels checked.  It might me a chemical imbalance in your body.

Snow-  You sound like you have your hands full with everyone sick.  That's an old scam unfortunately, and its really sad regarding the robbery.  People scan the obits to find out when people will be out of the house....disgusting.

BT- I think that if its causing so much frustration it's fine.  I don't think its tacky at all.
Did you try to resize it?  or you can't because of the make?

Well, I think I might go back to sleep.  It's Saturday morning and I'm just very tired.

Have a nice day.

Morning all,

Netta, I'm so sorry about everything you're going through.  I agree with Camms, that you should probably get your hormone levels checked after everything else gets taken care of.  You're in my thoughts.  And I love your do!  You look good.

Snow, I hope your daughter's pinkeye goes away quickly, and yours if you have it.  Ugh.  You know, people also get "new identities" by reading the obits in the paper for like babies who have died; they take the name, get a new soc. security# etc.  I'm sorry that happened to your friend.

Camms, I hope you get some good rest.

Well, I took the watch back and had it resized (again).  So, now I can get it off without too much trouble.  I really hate to return gifts if I don't have to.  I also got my daughter a few baby clothes. I usually wait until after a baby's born, in case something happens, but I figured I was there, so I may as well get a few things.

Oh, someone mentioned marijuana making them horny.  Not me.  I used to be able to smoke it a lot when I was a teen (almost 30 years ago), but it's a lot stronger now.  The last time I smoked, I was extremely paranoid, I mean to the max.  So, I never smoked after that.  I don't care if others do, I just don't like it.         I hope you all have a good day.

Hello ladies

Tonight is the last night Billy's son and granddaughter will be here. Jon "Billy's son" wanted to go to a party tonight so I told him to go ahead and split and I'd put the baby to bed. I'll miss rocking her and singing songs to her. But I also look forward to time alone and a cleaner home.

I just started using Facebook. My friends on there are my son, brother and one friend of my brothers. I'm sure eventually it will get old but right now its kind of fun. If anyone of you ladies is into that and you want my info just PM me. I dont want to post it in the thread because it has my first and last name and too much personal info to give to just anyone. You never know who is reading our thread.

I've been working on my Itunes today too. Other than that nothing special is happening in my neck of the woods. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Hey Ladies

Wendy, so today its just you and Billy huh?  I see a nice quiet Sunday on your horizon.

I don't do the pot thing either.  I never really did. It makes me so paranoid to the point that is absurd.  My ex husband  can't put it down, another reason why I really avoid it.

Speaking of addictions, ah Facebook.  Watch out!

Well, it's off to church for me today.  When I return it will be financial aid paperwork and a freelance job.  I'm a little nervous about the financial aid route.    :-\

Well, hope you all have a really  nice Sunday.

BTW- where is everyone?

Hey all,

Wendy, I don't know anything about Facebook.  If I was on there, though, I'd sure share my info with you.  I'm sure you're looking forward to having your place back.  I know you'll miss the baby, but you'll be able to see her, right?  And I'm sure there will be many more nights where she'll be at grama's. ;)

Camms, I don't know where everyone is.  It seems everyone's posting has dropped off.  But, that's usually how it is on here.      I know exactly what you mean about pot making you super-paranoid.  Last time I smoked, which was years ago, I was sitting on the couch thinking, "I'm really hungry.  But, if I get up and go out in the kitchen, I'm sure I'll fall down walking in there."  Stuff like that.

Yesterday I went to my best gay friend's house for lunch and to meet this guy he's seeing.  I didn't care for the guy he's seeing too much.  Very bossy and gruff.  I wanted to tell him to shut the f*** up a few times when he was needling my friend.  Anyway, the lunch was good.

My doctor's office screwed up on a refill on one of my meds, which caused my mailorder pharmacy place to hold up my order on my other meds.  And they (pharmacy) have one of my diabetes medications, which I've been out of since Friday.  And that's making my sugar shoot up pretty high.  Last night when I checked it, it was over 500.  So, I gave myself some extra Insulin to hopefully cover bloodsugar spikes until I can get my other med (which is Metformin, a pill).  This is the 2nd time in two weeks my doc's office has screwed up a medication order.  I probably should get all my meds transferred to a local pharmarcy since I have to be here when the mailorder pharmacy sends my meds out; I have to sign for them.          Anyway, not sure what's going to happen today.  You all have a good one.

hello ladies, hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I am feeling better about the surgery. Pot made me horney and silly back in the day, i have smoked it  twice last year for the first time in years and its not the same.
Yesterday my womens group Sisterhood, had its block party and health fair in one of the worst projects in town, We couldn't advertise because of the gang problems, but we had a nice turn out. We cooked hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill and had clowns and activites for the kids, as well as face painting, my grand daughters came and the youngest one who is five won 3rd place in the "do the stinky leg" dance contest!!! imagine that and she is not evern from the hood! I also did a seminar on domestic violence and gave my hiv testimony, IT WAS THE MEDICINE I NEEDED!
We had about 20 women come to hear about hiv, domestic violence, all womens health issues,I spoke during the end of lunch and everyone was talking over me and such, I started to get pissed but the moment I stared talking about hivand aids you couldn't hear a pin drop, along with their mouths!!! I feelt so good giving these women a part of me and sharing on their level, I kept it real !!!
most of these women are livng in proverty in one of the old projects, the last that has not been renovated, it will eventually be torn down, and rebuilt, they are depressing . Most of these women have drug habits and share men, and young and illiterate, have a number of kids and baby daddysw who are thugs, gangster and dooe dealers. I am so proud of our group. we also had the founder of the only aids organization, the diversity house, Johnny, who did hiv testing in his mobile unit. This is a fat old white gay man whom I love to death and was my mentor when I first tested poz. WE have been friends a long time, his eye site is failing now but he still is a trouper, he has the only hiv homeless program in macon ga, runs everthing with RyanWhite and other grants. I saw a lot of old friends with hiv, still hanging in there. It made me feel so good.

I can see Haley any time I want to. But she will be a 4 hour drive away. LOL
Billy still maintains custody legally but Billy's ex wife will have her now. We all get along really well so there is no issues there. She is going to be coming back up to stay with us in July I think for a week or so.

Wendy, if you find yourself missing the whole baby-thing, let me know.  I'll happily send you one (or more) of mine for a week or two.

We went to my cousin's college graduation yesterday.  The main speaker was HORRIFIC! He spent 10 minutes telling us that he wasn't going to give a commencement speech, followed by the warning that for the next 20 minutes he was going to give us 5 arguments as to WHY he wasn't going to, then he rambled into something about pre-menapausal stressed out women and Indian basket weaving that went vertical instead of horizontal. Somewhere in it all he made necklaces to give as gifts to his research subjects.  I never did catch who those were - probably us - but I never got a necklace.  By the time he was finished, the entire audiance had glazed eyes and was drooling.

During this whole ordeal, our 2nd son (with Asperger's) needed to get up and walk around.  We told him that he could go out into the lobby.  After a couple of minutes, I went out to check on him.  I couldn't find him!  I was frantic.  The graduation was being held in the university REC center - a 4-story building with 90% of it needing a key card to get in to.  I glanced over into the weigh room and caught my son's reflection in the mirrors.  I couldn't figure out how he got in there since he certainly doesn't have a key card.  He was wandering around talking to people on the machines.  I was banging on the door and screaming.  There was a 9yr old kid walking around and no one gave him the time of day.  His mom is pounding on the door to get his attention and I'M  the one getting odd looks.

After a while, security shows up and asks what exactly I thought I was doing.  I explained I simply wanted my 9yr old son to get the heck out of there.  Of course, the security people have NO access card.  So, what do they do?  They start pounding on the door.  Gee, why didn't I think of that?  Totally annoyed, a jock walks over all full of himself and asks what's up.  I asked him to kindly grab the kid who doesn't belong by the hair and drag him over here.  Instead, the jock finds my boy, buys him a Sprite, and brings him over.

My son's explaination: if he wasn't supposed to be in there, why did the guy hold the door open for him?  And, it would've been smarter for me to just go around the corner and down the stairs - that door isn't locked.

Isn't autism grand?

Morning all,

Netta, it sounds like what you did was really a great thing.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  The world needs more people like you and the other ladies (and the older gay guy).  I hope the women who heard you took everything to heart.

Wendy, sorry to hear Haley will be 4 hours away.  At least you'll be able to see her in July.

Mum, wow.  I would've probably cussed out the jock who got your son the soda, and asked why he didn't answer the door earlier.  In fact, I probably would have cussed out the whole exercise room of people.  I'm sorry the commencement speaker was so bad.  I hate it when a bad speaker holds everyone hostage.  At least you survived; and you have another amusing story to put in your book you're going to write when your kids are grown. ;)

I survived without my diabetes med all weekend, but my sugar has been consistently high, no matter if I eat or don't eat.  I guess my pancreas doesn't make any Insulin at all.  All I ate yesterday for breakfast was an English muffin with sugar-free jam and my sugar shot up to over 200.  I e-mailed my doctor to let him know how I didn't appreciate how his office messed up.  I'm going to see if I can get an emergency script for like 5 pills until mine get here (it's Glucophage, or Metformin that I'm missing).  I didn't realize, even with the Insulin, how messed up my blood sugar would get without those pills.

Today I have a few things to do.  I'm hoping I can get those job placement ladies motivated to help me get my resume done, so I can start job looking.  And I need to do laundry.  I don't know if it's ever going to get warm here, or if we're going to stay cold.  I'm starting to think "cold."  You all have a good day.

Sorry you have to go through this, its not fair and they are unprofessional. My dh is a diabetic, so I know when your sugar is high and low what changes you go through, I hope the matter is resloved soon.
Minmom- that is some story, thank god ur littlle one is ok. I still had to laugh!!

Hope everyone is fine.

Today I went for my pre-op test, xray and blood test, ekg. I told the doctors office make sure they give me something to calm my nerves BEFORE I get to the operating room, I can't imagine watching them spread me wide eagle, putting my legs up, for all to see!!! lol

Mim's EEG went well today.  We kept her up until 11 and woke her up at 6.  She's a 12-hour a night sleeper, so she was really tired by the time the test started at 10am.  She looked like Frankenstein with the 22 leads stuck to her head.  She brought 2 stuffed animals - Lacey the dog and Lucy the lamb.  The tech taped leads on their heads, too.  Suprise!  They had no brains.  Mim's EEG showed nothing significant.

Tomorrow, we have an appointment with Dr. D the ENT.  Not sure what he'll want to do, but I know he wants to talk about the EEG.  I'm hoping he'll order a 24hr EEG where they hook her up and send her home to see what her brain does while doing "normal" activities.  The neurologist today wanted to admit her in the hospital for 3 days and do a video EEG.  Problem with that is that she'd be confined to a bed (going crazy) except to go potty. I don't see how that will show her brain activity during everyday situations.  I told the neuro. that we'll wait and talk to her ENT and ID doc and get their opinions.

I started my shopping list for our trip next week.  Then I made a list of everything I need to do before next Monday.  Then, I threw the list away - too stressful.  Then not having a list was stressful, so I wrote another one. The new one only had 3 things on it: laundry, eat, pack.  That's more like it.

Kids had games tonight.  Mim's team lost by 10 points.  It was stinkin' cold out there - 42F.  They were all freezing and just wanted to go home and get warm.  Who could blame them?  Goodness knows that's all i wanted to do, too.

Well, my sweeties, I"m exhausted.  The older I get, the earlier morning seems to come.

Love you all!

Morning all,

Netta, when is your surgery?  I did call the doctor's office yesterday morning, and they called a few pills to the pharmacy.  I had to pay for them, though.  The Medicare insurance I have will only pay for one refill of each med a month, and the refill of the Metformin is on the way.  But, at least I have a few now.

Mum, what trip?  You haven't mentioned that yet.  Or maybe you have and I'm losing my memory (which is quite possible).

I got one of those phone calls last night that we don't like to get.  One of my friends, who had recently gotten clean from his Oxy-Contin addiction, passed away.  He had Aids, but the doctor believes he either had a stroke or a blood clot that got loose.  His daughter called me last night, and when I heard the message was from her, I knew it wasn't good.  He lived down by Indy, about 3 hours away.  I hadn't seen him in a few years.  He and his partner (who died some years ago from Aids) used to live in my town, so that's how I knew him.  They're the ones responsible for getting me to the hospital when that guy I used to see threw me down a flight of stairs.  Anyway, we've always kept in touch.  His mom is totally lost, as he became her whole life (as happens many times with a mother and child who's addicted).  This makes the 4th person I've lost in the last 3 and 1/2 years, and the 6th person total.  I don't understand why people get taken away from us.  I guess I'm not supposed to.

Anyway, today I'm supposed to get my grandkids and take them out to lunch and to get some shoes.  So, hopefully everything will turn out alright.  It's also actually supposed to get up to 74!    I hope you all have a good day.

BT- Sorry to hear about your friend.  I am glad you were able to pick up some meds, that totally sucks that your script was messed up, that pisses me off when it happens with something that you get a refill for month after month.  It seems like they should have something in place to notify the doc or the pharmacy if it is going to need to be refilled.

Mum- Glad your appt went well, with everything that has been going on you definately deserve a vacation.

I am fighting mad right now.  I got another court date in the mail today.  When we went to court in April we were told we had to go back to the visitation center, which is up to him to go in and get the ball rolling which he never.  I had called them and they told me just to wait for them to call me back.  This new motion which is going to be seen in June is for him to get more visitation and to pay less child support.  WTF! He hasn't had any visits how does he expect to get more AND he is supposed to pay $50/wk in support and has paid about $76.00 since he has gotten out of jail in Oct.  He is stating that his income has changed dramatically?  He still gets SSI, just like he did before he went to jail, for some reason they still gave it to him while he was in jail? and he wants to pay less?? He is just mad because his wife doesn't pay it anymore.  I just don't get it.  I know for sure Massachusetts is a great state to live in if you want to get away with anything and everything.  Now on top of everything else, I have to go get a lawyer(which my mother is paying for, Thank goodness) and keep dealing with this moron and all his lies.  I guess I should be happy I live an hour away from him or he would be stalking me like he is his   ex.  She had a restraining order on him which means nothing, the cops don't do shit.  I am really beginning to think he is paying someone off, because the shit he has gotten away with lately is frightening. SO tomorrow I am going to my Dads to tell him everything.  My mother didn't want me to tell him on the phone.  I told her today I was going tomorrow and when she had a negative reply, I asked her if she was afraid he was going to stop talking to her?  Right now I could care less if he does or doesn't, I am just sick of dealing with shit by myself.

Betty - Sorry about your loss.
I had a whole bunch of Metformin somewhere. I have no clue where it went but I wish I could mail it to you. Probably a crime to do so. Prescription medication and all. I had a couple of bottles of the stuff. I'm sure its here somewhere. Unless Billy disposed of it.

Snow I hope everything works out for you.

Betty-I'm sorry for you loss.

Wendy-I hope you get to see the baby often.

I will try to keep up....

Morning all,

Snow, It's not just Massachusettes that's like that with criminals.  It happens here all the time.  It's irritating, because I see advertisements sometimes about the state wanting to crack down on dead-beat dads, or wanting to get "tough on crime," but it seems a lot of times, the laws are "tough on the innocent."  I hope the lawyer you get will bring some much-needed sanity to the judge's decision, and that your ex gets screwed.  I really do.  I don't say that about too many people, but he's had the chance to do the right thing, and hasn't done so.  Jackasses like that just need to be locked up.    And good luck with your father.

Wendy, I loved that picture!  I wish I had a top like that.  I'd probably never wear it, of course. It would just be fun to own.

Andrea, you must be doing the whole count-down thing.  I know you're excited.

Yesterday I took my grandkids to I-Hop.  My grandson, who just turned 5, got loud a couple times.  My granddaughter, who is 8, said to me "that's why we don't take him to good restaurants." ;D  She says some of the funniest things sometimes.  Anyway, afterwards the "mom" picked up my grandson, and I took my granddaughter and got her a couple summer outfits, and shoes.  Then we came back here and watched Gremlins.  It was on sale at Best Buy a couple weeks ago for $3.99, so I had to buy it.  I had forgotten how violent it was until watching it with granddaughter.  I like the movie, though.  She said it was "creepy," but that she wouldn't have bad dreams, since we watched it during the day and not at night.

Today I'm going to clean, try to get my daughter's baby stuff mailed, and mail out a sympathy card to my friend's mom.  I talked to her last night, and she's still pretty tearful (as expected).  I hope you all have a good day.

Well, I survived  ;D  It went very well actually, I think he was more shocked than anything.  It seems for now that he is going to be supportive and make some calls to make sure that we are doing whatever we can.  I did not sleep at all last night, I was tired this morning but looking forward to getting it over.  I had a lot on my mind and a lot of phone calls to make on the hour drive.

I had a blonde moment on the way.  I stopped to get gas and went in and paid for the gas and a gingerale.  Got right in my car and drove away WITHOUT pumping the gas.  Thank goodness, I realized it about a 1/2 mile down the street.  When I walked back in the station, the guy was like "Back again?"-  I said, I forgot to pump my gas!!! Luckily enough, no one had used the pump although thier was car there.  I said "Please tell me I am not the only that has done that?" and he was like "Oh, no, it happens all the time!  Thats good, cuz I felt like a complete idiot but I needed the laugh.

BT- Have you heard anything from the employment lady?  I had forgotten how scary Gremlins was too, but I love Gizmo.  Thank you, I feel the same way.  I have given him chance after chance and he has just blown every one.  I did my best to keep my feeling about my sons father to myself so that he could form his own bond with him but that totally back fired on me.

Viv- Have fun babysitting.  Where you able to get the job for the summer?

I am going to lay down for a bit before I have to cook dinner.  Everyone take care!

I thought I would post a photo of our camping trip earlier this month.
Haley in the front Billy and me in the background.

I also uploaded a video of me and Haley playing with the knot holes in the cabinet door.
She would stick her finger in the hole and I would blow raspberries on it or growl.

Snow, I haven't heard anything good from the employment lady.  I'm glad things went well with your father.

Wendy, Haley is a doll.  And I liked watching that video-too cute.

I'm waiting for the inspector from housing to get here.  As usual, he doesn't say when he's coming-just between 8-4.  So, more later...

Well Ladies, I'm back from AC.

BT I am really sorry to hear about your loss.  You've had it tough with losing family and friends.  It's seems so unfair.  I really feel bad when I hear about people that overcame an addiction just to die shortly after the fact.

Wendy-  That thread is sooo funny.  My dad sent me a pic of the redneck tee.  Hysterical.

Snow-  Glad to hear there is some relief in the drama.  It's good that you remembered the gas or you may have been walking back.

Viv-  Are you working during the summer?

Well, I'm exhausted.  I need to zone out in front of the tube.

Hope you all have a nice night.

AC was a really nice get away for my mom and I. This was for my 40th birthday so I used this time to relax and pamper myself.   We stayed at the Borgota casino, which had an incredible view and a beautiful lobby.  Incredible Venetian glass sculptures hang from the ceilings and large flower arrangements can be found around every corner.  My parents get comps so that was really nice of them to use two free nights.  Well, first off  I won some and lost a lot.   The first night I was so wiped out that when we got back to the room in was 8 pm!!!  Then on the second night I made it until 11:30 lol.  I get up really early and go to sleep early so it makes sense.

We went over to Harrahs to the Red Door spa and received an amazing facial.  Then we did some additional casino hopping.  We headed over to the Tropicana.  I kept winning on this one slot.  It was the old looking machine in the corner, the one that no one plays.   It made my money go a lot farther.  Then we decided on getting some appetizers.  The area where the restaurants are located has a ceiling  painted as if it is eternally twilight and has a particular lighting design for a realistic feeling. We chose the Red Square, a dark Russian place with a bar made completely of solid ice.  One of the apps was a plate of nachos, which we ordered.  To our surprise the plate arrived with 6 nachos!  Six wontons with fresh salmon and caviar covered the plate with a drizzle of wasabi sauce.  It was so delicious and surprisingly filling.  One of the best appetizers that I ever had.

We headed back to Borgota for dinner.  Our hearts were set on Japanese but it was closed.   A lot of the places are opened only on particular nights due to the economy, so we walked over to Wolfgang Pucks.  The food was very good and the atmosphere was very trendy.

Over all it was a great trip and well spent with my mom.  It was a memory maker indeed.

I got really great news yesterday......I got accepted to grad school.  My classes start on June 15, since I opted for two classes for summer.

What's everyone's plans for memorial day weekend?

Camms, Sounds like a great time, and congratulations on your acceptance!!  That's wonderful!

I"m going to be gone this weekend, starting this afternoon.  I'm going to an NA convention.  Actually, it's the same one I went to last year for Memorial Day Weekend.  I'm sure some of you remember.  I think it will be a great time.  It's set out in nature, but I'm staying in a lodge, where there's electricity, and running water (toilets, showers).  And the people who run the place feed us three times a day, and it's buffet style, so we can eat to our heart's content.  I'm going with my best friend.  She's supposed to pick me up around 3:00.  So, I'm going to go eat breakfast, take a shower and pack.  If I have more time, I'll be back on.

I hope you ladies all have a great weekend.

Hey Ladies---

Just chiming in on some things. Someone asked how long will I be in NY. Well, I plan on leaving around the 4th of June but will be coming back after some appointments I have back home. I am transferring my Section 8 to NY. So, I will soon be a NY resident. I just love it here and they do more for hiv people than in Pa.

As far as the weed goes, you know I had to put my 2 cents in. Weed always makes me horny or hungry, sometimes both. I never understood how people got paranoid from it. And I get livid when they show the anti-drug commercials,it's always about weed, never meth or crack or the other hardcore drugs out there. And I think it is bs when they call it a gateway drug but that's just my opinion. Speaking of smoking, I have cut back on cigs majorly and will prolly end up quitting. They are almost 10 bucks a pack here in NY though you can buy loose ones. So, instead of smoking a pack a day, I am smoking like maybe 4 a day which is a major cutback for me. I am surprised how good I am doing with it.

Netta- Sorry about the sexual issues you are having. Isn't there something for women to enhance their sex drive. I thought it was called Niagara or something. I am sure you can prolly google something. Sorry to hear about the other problems you are having too. I am hoping things will get better for you.

Betty-- Sorry about your friend. I just found out that a friend of mine who lives in South Africa just recently had a stroke and lost the use of some of his limbs but I think he is getting better now. I haven't lost any friends to HIV/AIDS yet.

Wini---Haley is cute and it seems like she has an attitude in that pic.... :D

Well I am going to run, I will stay in touch. Much love ladies.... :-*

It's been forever since I've posted here.  This past week has been nuts, but we made it through all Mim's doc appts.  Her EEG came back "normal" which means that for the hour she was hooked up to the machine, she didn't have a seizure.  ENT agrees with us that her dizzy / headaches / balance issues are due to her double vision.  She sees an occupational opthomologist on June 4th.

Then, on Wed., we rounded off the marathon with a 6hr round trip to Chilicothe to see Dr. F (new ID doc). It was a mixed bag, but a good visit.  Our biggest concern is that she dropped over 2lbs in the last month - from 59 to 57.  If she loses any more wt., he'll have to adjust her med dosage and is worried it won't be effective.  Then yesterday his office called to give us some of her prelim lab numbers.  Her CD4s are wonderful: 1205 (50.2%), her red blood cells were low, her cholesterol still high (172), and her triglycerides off the chart (378!!!!).  So, she needs to eat more, gain 3lbs, all while lowering her cholesterol and her tris.  Other than eating hay, I have no idea how she's supposed to manage it.

Monday morning bright and early, we are heading out for a fun-filled week at Hershey, Pa.  We're staying in the High Meadow Campground in one of their extra large cabins (I'm with you, Betty.  Must have electricity and water)  Today we're finishing up the shopping and cleaning the house.  We'll pack tomorrow after church.  I'm afraid we'll need a U-Haul before all is said and done.

Betty: hope you have a wonderful time on your get-a-way.  Watch out for bears.

Queen: Congrats on your move!  I hope you find every happiness in NY.

The rest of you ladies have a great weekend.  I'll see you in a week!

Much love and be good,
Mum

Well Hello to anyone who is around this weekend.

I got some crappy news from my primary care doc late yesterday.  I got an MRI done on my ovaries and it seems that they cannot tell if the cyst is benign or malignant.  It's not a typical cyst.  It's growing and nobody can tell me what it is after the ultrasounds and mri.  I see my gyno on Tuesday.  I was freaking out last night.  I asked my doc "do you think its ovarian cancer"?  She said, "well, we don't know what it is".  I hate this....and it is becoming really frustrating. I'm upset also, because I lost a friend to ovarian cancer last year so its I'm really sensitive.  I also never had any children and would hate it if I had that option taken away because of removal of the ovaries.   It seems like its one thing after another. :-\

Hey everyone!

Wendy- What a cute picture!

Camms- It sounds like your trip was fun. I love to get facials and massages! No, I'm not working this summer. There is no summer school due to budget cuts. I am supposed to babysit a friend's baby but I don't know. I am a little worried, but I try not to think about it. Oh...congratulations on your acceptance!

Betty- Enjoy your weekend trip! I totally agree about the electricity

Queen- How exciting! I am glad you are enjoying New York. I take things are going well with the man... ;D

Mum- That sounds good about Mini. Enjoy your trip.

Netta- I hope your recovery is fast. That's too bad about the all the medicine. Get well.

Nothing much is going on with me. I am still staying at my dad's house. Things with my sister are good. We have been enjoying each others company. I have someone to cook for which she likes... :) My dad comes back on June 1st and I will be glad to be able to sleep in my own bed. Vivian, my dog, is really having a great time here. My dad's house has a huge yard and she likes to run around in it. Hmmmm let's see...the only thing coming up is Open House. Nothing else...how boring my like has become! LOL! Have a nice weekend lovely ladies!!!

Camms- I can't imagine the stress you are feeling but I hope that everything works out in your favor.  Figures you find this info out on a holiday weekend, I know the waiting must be unbearable.  Good Luck!

Netta- Glad your surgery went well. I hope the new meds work for you.

Viv- That is nice that you and your sister can spend sometime together and your doggy has the yard to run in.

BT- Hope you have fun at your weekend away, it sounds like a good time!

Mum- Have a nice vaca, have some chocolate for me.

I am getting over a cold and sick and tired of having no money.  To think that I have to borrow $2500 from my mother to pay for a lawyer to protect my son and myself against this low life is really getting me down.  I need to put food on the table, keep a roof over my head and clothes on our backs while he can take me back and forth to court whenever he feels like it.  To think this going to go on for at least 7 more years is depressing.

I hope everyone has a nice long weekend.  Stay strong Camms, I will be thinking of you.

Morning all,

Queen, I'm so glad you're finding some happiness.  So, things with this guy are going good, aye?   I know in Chicago, cigs are like $10/pack.  That's the main reason I quit, was because of the price.  Do you know how long it's going to take to get the section 8 transferred?  I was just wondering, in case I ever decide to move somewhere else.

Mum, I hope you have a great time at Hershey!  About Mim's numbers, boy, her CD4's sure look good.  As far as her triglycerides go, mine are always high also, and I'm also diabetic.  My sister, who works in a doc's office, says all their diabetic patient's tri's are high all the time.  And my cholesterol is normal.  It may just be a "thing."  I hope Mim gains some weight back, though.

Camms, I'm thinking about you.  I hope the cyst is nothing.  I know you must be worried sick.  Please let us know what's going on.

Netta, sorry to hear about all your physical trouble.  I'm glad you're healing alright from the laser surgery.  Hopefully you'll adjust to the new meds alright.

Andrea, would you please come cook for me?  I'm glad you and your sis are having a good time together.

Snow, I don't understand how the asshole can keep taking you to court.  Is there nothing your laywer can do to get the judge to see that it should end (him taking you to court)?  I'm so sorry you're going through that.

Well, the convention was lovely.  I had a nice time, and it ended much too soon.  I saw some people I hadn't seen in years, and the conversations went really well.  The main speaker on Saturday night was very inspiring.  She had lost all 3 of her kids in her active addiction (put into foster homes), and had spent quite a bit of time in prison.  But now, she has all of her children back, and is doing very well.  She's been clean for, I believe, 7 or 8 years.  The food was really good.  The workshops (which is where they pick a topic and a couple people talk about it) were good.  One of the topics was "recovery and relapse" and I got up at the end and talked about how I had about 10 years clean, and got strung out on pills (legally prescribed ones).   I didn't get a lot of sleep, but that's alright.  Last night I went to bed around 10:30, and didn't get up today until 8:00 a.m.  So, I caught up a little bit.  I have nothing to do today, and I may just stay in my jamee's (and hopefully no one comes over).   I should have taken out a steak to cook on the grill, but I totally spaced it.  I'll survive, there's other things to munch on.  I hope all you ladies have a good Memorial Day. :-*

Hello Ladies-

I am off to the gyno this morning to finally get some answers.  Friday night was really bad for me.  I just got to the point of 'enough is enough".

BT and Mum= So glad that you had a nice get way, though we are still waiting for mums to return.

Hope everyone else is good ...sorry, a little distracted and quick to post.

Hello ladies,
Camms hope everthing went well at the doctors.
I am doing alright, had to come off my premarin, (estrogen for a while and it sent my body  into shock! hot  flashes and nite mares, feeling tired and liteheaded at times, but I am sure this is also from the anasthesia. I have a doctor appointment today. I look like crap, dark circles under my eyes.lol Did I mention my viral load is undetectable! my tcells are 286, which is not great but due to stress. i have my husband to thank for being undetecable, he stayed on me about taking my meds, and taking them on time. he has been a dear, considering we can't have sex for six weeks!!!

Hi Ladies-

I go to the gyno and he was really great.  First time seeing him and just was wonderful.  He put me at ease and did not batter an eye lash when I answered all the questions regarding HIV.    He told me he was gonna put me on the pill for three months and see what happens to the cyst, within a cyst.  He was going to give me another ultrasound since the reports were so ambiguous.  I read them and I thought, being a layman, I just wasn't sure what was going on because everything was inconclusive.

Anyway, while getting the transvaginal ultrasound we saw the cysts but they were smaller.  However, something showed up that wasn't on any of the other tests.  There was an item that was dense.  He was a bit surprised.  The course of treatment changed.  He asked me that since this showed up he could stay on the original course or have my ovary removed.  He said that "of course, if I remove it the item might be benign", but it's up to you and I'll give you time to think about it.  I thought about it  before I went in and I told him I wanted it removed.  My gut is telling me I'm ok, get it removed, I have another.

I'm 2 weeks short of 40 with no kids.  I know that if I want children I want to adopt.  I've been thinking of that for a while.     The doctor will call me at the end of the week with a date which should be in the next few weeks.

I feel really at peace with the decision and that is what is important.

Thanks for everyone's concern...it matters :)

Everyone have a really nice day.

Camms

Camms, I'm glad you made the decision you wanted.  That's the important thing.  When is the ovary going to be removed, or do you have to go back and see the doctor to discuss this and schedule it?

Netta, why did you have to come off the Premarin?  I hope your system settles down.  It's awful to have woman problems.

Not much going on for me today.  I'm supposed to start a temporary part-time job (like the last one I did) in the middle of June.  It's at an agency where people come who are in desperate situations, and this place tries to either directly help them or steer them in the right direction.  Anyway, I think it will be interesting.  I had lunch with a friend at the new Red Robin they have here and it was really good.  Nothing other than that.  Have a good one.

Camms- I am sorry you have to go through all this. When is the surgery?

Netta- Good news about being undetectable! :)

Tomorrow we have Open House, which I hate. It is such stress getting the classroom ready. The kids are finishing their state reports. Today they came to take all of the fifth grade laptops away. It was kind of sad. Anyways...nothing else going on. I think I only have 2 more weeks. Oh there is soooo much to do!

Have a good night,
Andrea

Hi GFs~

Its been way too long since I've posted.  I caught up with Queen on IM over the weekend and she told me about NY and a new man?  Woo-hoo!

BT CONGRATS on graduating!  I've missed you!

Netta, I heard you cut your dreads, but I still can't stop giggling about your vajayjay getting tighter from having work done on it?!?!?  Oh girl, you are hilarious!  Also, the sex thing, it always slows down after awhile.  I have been living with Ice since November and I am too damn tired to commute AND have sex!  LOL   :D

Camms Camms Camms, I can't believe whats been going on with your cyst issue.  I am so glad that you've made this choice to have the ovary removed and that you're OK with it.  When did you turn 40?  I turn 40 this November!  Also, I went to Harrahs in AC last summer with work, took pics out by the water, it was nice, a day trip with a bunch of drunks from the office, lol.

Hello to Mum and Win and all of my GFs.  I have missed you all.  Ice and I are doing good, I just met his ex this past weekend and she seems nice.  Work is easy, the hard part is being in there with a few bad apples that are stupid, unmotivated or both.  That's OK, I just keep thinking of the nice raise I got last March and find things to do around the office.

Cheech is still doing good, 15yo doggie.

Iceman finished renovating the bathroom on my TH so we can rent it this summer.  That's when the doors will be wide open and we can start saving $$$$.  I am holding my breath trying to get everything done on that place.  Its taking forever.  We just got it measured for carpet last Saturday and we will start painting soon.  Come on, somebody rent it!  LOL

Good to see everyone!!

Love,

Cindy

Wow- Cindy, really so nice to see you and hear great things.  Your like a breathe of fresh air.  It's been so long since I was off the post for a while.

It's funny how there are so many different seasons for people.  They go through a tough time for a while and then there's a break through.  Good news physically, they meet someone, there is a new job.....it brings joy to read about other people's happiness and accomplishments.

Anyway-  Netta, great news on being undetectable.

Andrea-  What is an Open House at School?  I know what they are regarding houses.  Sorry if you posted this earlier.

I haven't officially turned forty.  It's June 12th.  When it's this close I just think of myself at that age. I am waiting on a call from the doctor this week to set up the surgery.  It should be set for the next two weeks.  I have pre op testing which is more of an inconvenience than anything.  But I'm back to feeling good mentally.  When things are really ambiguous it's very frightening.  I kn.ow I stating the obvious but it's sooo true.

Well i hope everyone has a great day.

Hugs,

Camms

Afternoon,

Andrea, good luck with that open house.  I couldn't deal with a bunch of kids and their parents all at once. Ugh.

Cin, HEY!  So good to hear from you.  I'm glad things are going so good with you and Ice, and your job.  Congrats to Cheech on being 15 and still going strong.  Keep in touch more often.

Camms, I'm glad you're feeling better mentally.  That's really important with an upcoming surgery.

Well, I keep looking and looking and I just can't find a job.  I do have that temporary one coming up in the middle of June, but that will only last a month.  I really want to find something, and am trying to practice patience.          There's really nothing exciting to report.  Have a good one.

Hi GFs~

One thing I noticed last night while reading this thread.....so many of us have come out of our shells.  I remember when I started posting I wouldn't dare put a picture here, I felt so alone and withdrawn.  Now, I see that so many of us have gotten stronger, braver....there are definitely more pics of us here.  I know we all have our own comfort levels, and I sure needed to "dip my toes in the water" in the Forums before really being comfortable, but when it comes down to it....We are all brave, strong women.  I have read so many times, "I have HIV, it doesn't have me," and that's the God's honest truth.  Kudos to US for pulling together to show love and support even if its through our keyboards.  All of you have made a tremendous difference in my life.

Yeah, it was nice seeing so many pics of US on here.  Yay! :D

So, I'm trying to get things in order so that I can rent my place, and also I need to find a new vuhjayjay doc.  I move in with Iceman, a half mile from a second office that my doc has and think "How convenient it will be when I have my annual again!"  Last month I got a letter saying she was leaving the practice.  She was my doc for about 8-10 years, for a good long while.

Also, I absolutely hated the lab I went to in March.  It was a new lab for me, in a more congested area, on the way to work.  The wait was horrendous and it was standing room only for awhile.  My ID doc said to change my primary doc to him on my HMO and have the labs drawn at his office.  I checked online with my insurance plan and they don't have him listed, so I need to figure something out soon before the end of next month when labs are due again.  I just never trust what insurance or medical providers say until I get the bill, lol.  I can't imagine having my labs done at his office and then finding out they aren't on my plan, and then getting hit with a ginormous $1000 lab bill or something when it should be free.

Lastly, I guess this is good news, but I don't qualify for ADAP anymore because I am in a 2-person household.  They count total income, so with Ice and I living together, I have to start paying copays at $60 a pop.  If I lived alone, I would still qualify, but I am trying to be honest and do the right thing so the ADAP police don't hunt me down, lol.

Has anyone heard from Drag or Cristy?  I haven't had a chance to catch up on the other threads from January forward, just this one.

Hope everyone is doing well tonight.  :)

~ Cindy (and Cheech!   ;D )

My cat just jumped on keyboard and my original post is gone.  :-\

Netta -  This may not be our month, but next month will:)  Glad that your healing well.

BT-  As I was reading your report the news was reporting the frustrations of new graduates.  You work so hard during college and enter the working world with great expectations.    I think things will eventually turn around in the job market, especially after the summer.

Snow-  How are you feeling?  Are you able to hire the lawyer?

Cin- Sorry to hear about your doctor departing.  That's a long time and you build a relationship of trust we these folks.  Then when they decide to leave the practice we almost feel a sense of "wha? how can this happen".  Hopefully it works out with your doctors.  Find a good gyno is sooo important.  I had usually used my primary care for paps until last year.  She referred me to another women doctor who was brutal.  She was sooo mean and definitely not gentle.  To top it off her breathe could conquer an  army.  When I told my primary care doctor's nurse that I wanted to change my gyno she said, "oh my, I worked at her office for one day and I'll never do it again.  She's a freakin B."  I started to laugh and said I'm glad to hear that since I thought maybe I saw her on a bad day.

Well, lots going on this weekend.  Heading to brooklyn for a block party.  Maybe I'll run into
Queen.  Park Slope to be exact.  Then I'm going to see my ex husband after church and catch up.  Today, I have a breakfast date with a friend from my previous job and laundry.  Then a two websites to work on....so I will be busy.

Hope everyone has a really nice weekend.

Hugs to everyone....

Camms

Hey ladies,

Netta, I'm glad you're healing well.  That's good news.

Cin, Cristy got approved for disability, so I believe she's dealing with all that.  Anyway, I'm glad you're back with us (now stay, kay?).  Sorry about your doctor leaving.  I hope you can find a new lab that's not so congested.

Camms, it is frustrating trying to wait for a job.  I hope things do improve with jobs.  Anyway, I hope you have fun in Brooklyn.  I've never been to NY, but I live about an hour and a half away from Chicago, and used to go there often.  Have a good visit with your ex and if you see Queen, say hi for me. :)

Not much going on today.  There's a vertical blind in my living area (I live in a efficiency) that I haven't cleaned since I lived here, which is almost 4 years.  It's really dusty, so today I'm commited to cleaning it.  I may also go the women's HIV support group.  Last night I went to my ASO's board meeting (I got elected to the board of directors), and heard about all the financial problems ASO's are having.  It's getting pretty desperate, but hopefully things will turn around.  I heard Obama has an Aids task force and has approved quite a bit of money, mostly for prevention.  Let's hope it trickles down into the states.        This weekend I only have going to the NA speaker jam planned.  I may go to the library also.  And Sunday I believe my brother is coming over so we can continue watching The Sopranos.  You all have a good day.

Hi GFs~

Oh this humid Maryland weather has sucked this week, lol!  I have the most terrible sinus headache and I am on edge because pop-up thunderstorms keep rolling through.  I should've been a meteorologist, lol, all I do is keep tracking the radar on the weather sites.  Iceman just got pounded with a really bad storm out by the Bay, south of Baltimore.  I was gonna go to group tonight, but I just want to curl up with Cheech and hope no other storms come along.

That's good news about Cristy getting disability!  Did she just apply for the first time before the holidays, if I remember correctly?  I knew the waitressing was really tough on her, so to have this income is a good thing.

Laughing about Camms running into Queen in NY   :D  Wouldn't that be funny?

Betty, I remember when I graduated college and moved from the dorms back to my parents' house.  It was December 1991 and I couldn't find a job for shit.  So, I went back to my roots and worked as a manager trainee at McDonald's.  Hee hee!  I worked there in HS as well, so I took what job I could get, and then I got into banking FT again.  I always liked counting all of that money.   ;D  Hang in there and take something even if its not ideal, cause it will help you to network and move to where you really want to be.

OK, time for sinus meds and todays episode of AMC.  Do any of you watch it?  Ooooh its been good lately!

Strange thing about getting older is that my grey hair is coming in curly. Billy took me to a fancy hair place to get my hair cut and colored last week as a early b'day present and his stylist friend gave me a cut that makes the curls more obvious. The coloring was actually highlights. I wanted to be blonde again but for the next few months I'll have to settle for lighter red. LOL
I was a blonde naturally up until I was maybe 16.
Oh! I have a year book photo from 1988 I can show you all. It was before I had braces so you can see my vampire teeth. Totally dig the 80's hair too LOL note that my hair was curly then but it was a perm

Good morning, ladies!  I've missed you all so much!  We got home just before 3pm yesterday afternoon.  I'd forgotten how much unpacking was involved after a trip.  And to think that next Sunday, we get to do it all again - beach style ( I HATE the beach!)

The weather  in Hershey was quite frigid the entire week.  It was nice the 2 days we were in the park - highs in the upper 60's to low 70's with cloud cover and a nice breeze - much better than sweating to death.

As is her way, Mim dragged hubby and me on every roller coaster they'd let her on.  She was hooping and hollering, hands in the air.  I had my eyes closed trying not to puke.  Our youngest son, 6, rode his 1st (and 2nd and 3rd and 4th) roller coasters.  He was a bit upset that they wouldn't let him on one that went upside down, though.  He was about 1/2 inch too short.  Our youngest daughter learned a new phrase "kiddie ride".  That's pretty much all she said "kiddie ride" and "more chocolate" (mo goc-a-let).

Cindy, so good to see you again!  Glad things are working out for you on all fronts.  Happy early birthday!

Wendy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Your hair has gotten really long.  I try to let mine grow out, but I get too impatient with it.  When our oldest was born, it was one-length down to my waist.  Now it's short and sticks up everywhere (on purpose...lol)  I'm going today to get it trimmed before we leave for the beach.

Betty, glad you had a good time at your vacation.  I hear you on the job-hunting.  Things are slow here, too.  We had a friend get laid off of his job (his entire section got cut).  He was "promised" a job in December with the FBI - he just had to get his paperwork and background check done.  They offered him a contract that he was too scared to negotiate.  Then in April, a week before he was supposed to start, they called and rescended the contract.  His unemployment barely covers their house note, let alone food and utilities.  Their kids have health problems and now have no insurance.  Here you have to be off private insurance for 6mths before you can apply for a medical card.  I know this is happening all over.  Times are tough.

I need to get a shower and do the shopping.  Our pantry is bare.  Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.  Cold and rainy here (still..will it ever end?)  Love to you all!

Mum

Hey ladies,

Cin, it's humid here as well, and my sinuses are always killing me.  I can't take decongestants because of being on thyroid meds; and they cause my heart to race and pound.    I'm not sure when Cristy applied initially for disability.  I'm glad she got it also.  I wish we would hear something from her though.    And I would take another job, other than what my degree's in, there's just nothing in this area right now.  Being that I live right next to Elkhart, they really got hit hard with the RV world shutting plants down left and right.  So, there's lots of people looking for jobs, and few getting them.

Wendy, happy birthday!!!  You don't look bad when you wake up (you should see me, ugh).

Mum, welcome back.  I was just wondering if you were getting back sometime this weekend.  When are you leaving for the beach and how long will you be gone (I have to keep track you know). :)  I'm glad you had a fun time at Hershey's.  I'm really sorry to hear about your friend's situation.  I hope things improve.  I know it's rough all over; I was just explaining where I live to Cindy.  Anyway, I'm glad you're back.

I never got that blind cleaned.  I went out to lunch with a friend of mine, got back, took a nap and slept for 4 hours.  I didn't want to get up when I did, but I didn't want to be awake all night either.  I'll get to it today or sometime next week.   The only concrete thing I have going on is that I believe I'm going to go to an NA speaker thing this evening.  Today I'm going to try to get to the library, though a friend of mine e-mailed me last night and is having a crisis, so I told her I would be around until about 4:00, in case she needs to get out.  You all have a good one.

Hey Girls-----

Glad you decided to post again, Cindy. We all have missed you but knew you were doing your thing with work and Ice. Ah, Camms, you were in Brooklyn, I am in Queens so there is no chance that you would see me. It would've been a trip though. I haven't gotten as many pics as I would've liked because it's been a bit rainy here. But I will be heading back home sometime next week but only for a few weeks. Then I will be back in NY again. Isn't love grand? ;D

I have often wondered what happened to Drag and a few others too. And I know I have gotten a bit bold and posted my pic now. And really don't care who sees me anymore really. I need to blog soon but I'll wait til I get back home to do that. I am down to my last vial of Lantus and not due to see my new primary doctor til the end of June. I am going to see if I can move that appointment up. I need to change my stats in my sig line. My cd4 is now 664 and I am undetectable again. I guess I was lucky not to have gotten resistant to the meds when I took that 2 month break.

So Wini, the new avy pic is your new look? It looks nice, fits you well too. And you never want to see what I look like in the morning. It is definitely not pretty, usually takes me about an hour to get my face right... ;) Not that I wear a lot of makeup cause I don't, just takes me that long to wake up. ;D

I think the next time you will all will hear from me, I'll be back home. I have a lot to do next week.

Hey everyone!

Cindy- So nice to hear from you. I am glad you are doing well.

Betty- I can totally relate to planning on cleaning and then not following through. You have another day.

Camms- I hope you enjoyed your party.

Netta- That's good you are healing well. How long before you are totally well?

Wendy- Wow! Your hair really grew! Happy Birthday!

Queen- It sounds like you found your niche! Good for you.  ;D

Well my Open House went well. I think someone asked what it was? It is just a time when parents and kids can come to the different classrooms and see what the kids have been working on. The primary grades usually deck out the rooms with all kinds of things. Some teachers also save ALL the projects during the year and put them out. In fifth grade we decided just to display what we are currently doing, so are focus is state reports. I also had the movies the kids made on the computer from our overnight field trip running on the projector. It all went really well and I am GLAD it is over. Unfortunately, a couple of the kids were really coughing and sick this week so of course I caught the cold and feel TERRIBLE today. Coughing, stuffy nose, sneezing.... >:(
We only this week and next and we are done. I hope I survive.....LOL!

Have a good night,
Andrea
