Yes, I AM Supporting You

Hey Sexadditc007...

STOP, LOOK, AND LISTEN. Will you do that for just a second? Good. Understand that your fears are much worse when you are anticipating the situation than they will be when you actually in the situation.

Do yourself a favor, ASK yourself WHY you are acting this way. Does it make any sense to worry? No. It does not. So where does this leave you? Go and GET TESTED to give you a peace-of-mind.

Thunter34 was clear in his post above.

Enjoy your Holiday Season and Thank you for sharing.

Child, we've got people here who were literally hanging on their last t-cells when they found out.  I didn't have any to spare myself when I learned my diagnosis.  There's no such thing as having CD4's that are 'too low to treat'.  It just doesn't work that way.

Yes, that was good enough about the condoms with the escorts.  Enough about the escorts already!  The escorts are not the issue.  Repeat:  the escorts are not the issue.  The only conceivable risks involved from what you have described were the instances of unprotected sex you had.

I'm done here.  After this, I've told you all I have to say.

Use condoms for sexual encounters.
If you feel you've experienced an additional risk, get a test to find out for sure.

Beyond this point, you are just entertaining yourself with worry.

sexaddict,

Can I ask why you are using different usernames while posting to our forums? Thus far, you have also used detpiston7788

Please realize that this kind of activity is disrespectful of other forum members, as well as our moderators. People spend a considerable amount of time helping others in these forums. Using multiple accounts is at the very least annoying, if not deceiving and disrespectful of others. It is also against our Terms of Membership which you agreed to when you became a member. This information is also contained within the Welcome Thread, which you should have read by now. So really, you have no excuse.

You must realize that the answers won't change, no matter how many names you post under.

I would appreciate a reply to this message, and I hope you will commit to using just one account - preferably your original one. If not, you will be banned from further access to the forums.

check this out, interesting isn't it?

My husband is positive and I am negative. We went to his infectious disease doctor this week. She told us that the best way to assure my not getting infected was to NOT have Sex AT ALL. She said that condoms do not protect people from getting the virus. She said that the HIV can penetrate through and we should find alternative options for sexual intimacy. So, is she correct about the condom not protecting? What exactly is the ratio of condom use preventing HIV and causing HIV? Thank You!
A Dr is saying condoms dont protect, so i guess the dr's right

I guess your Dr. doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. If a condom is used consistently and correctly with plenty of water base lube it will be 100% effective. HIV virus can not go through an intact latex or poly condom. To be honest with you, I don't believe an ID doctor said that at all. You may try to pull the wool over some WW eyes, but you are not going to do it to us. I guess you will no longer need to be coming back to this forum. Good-bye.

Is that a correct use of a condom? You do it without lube you're asking for it to fail. If you don't know anything about condoms at the bottom of Ann's post you will see a condom link.

Are you paying attention? Did you read the condom link? Read the lube link also. If the condom didn't fail you didn't have a risk.

Stop whining and get those result. It will be negative and there is no need to fear to pick a test up. The test only reflects your status.

I´ll never get it why people are afraid to get the tests, what´s done is done. The test is only the prove. The actions beforehand is what people should be afraid of.

HIV is NOT easy to transmit.  Especially from female to male.

Just nut up and get your results.  Not knowing apparently isnt making you LESS stressed now is it?

Just go get em and quit whinin about it.  Be an adult.  Think I relished getting mine?  Oh, and yours wont be positive im betting!

det,

Yes, hiv infection can occur from female to male in just one instance. BUT... it isn't all that common. Your brief possible exposures are pretty low on the risk scale. Hiv IS much more difficult to transmit to the insertive partner and the odds ARE in your favour.

Let's just suppose you are hiv positive. Ask yourself is it better to know now, when you could start on treatments if needed and save yourself getting sick, or would it be better to find out when you collapse with PCP someday?

Grow some balls and pick up what is likely to be your negative result. Either way, it's far better to know your status than live in perpetual fear of the unknown.

PPS-  I will never understand the tendency of so many of the Worried Wells to forego reading and rereading the Lessons & stuff in favor of reading and rereading other WW posts in the AAI? forum.  That's the LAST place I would want to read for any peace of mind about HIV infection!  Just more "what if?" scenarios from people who are just as uninformed and/or flipped out as you are!

Le sigh.

And then mining from that only bits and pieces.  Like det mentions, "All that harder to get from female to male BS".  And then cites an anecdotal example of male to female transmission.

Le double sigh.

Exposed to the air?  Hang on:  Link forthcoming.

Since it would seem we have nothing better to do, we poz people were just discussing that very thing here yesterday.

I give you...

http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=12160.0

And remember, you can read but don't try to post in that thread.

It gives a very detailed explanation of how the virus deteriorates and becomes inactive outside the body.

Excellent reading...for once you have returned from getting your test results.  Now get with it!   ;)

Its hard to transmit because of the way its designed and its predetermined vectors of transmission.  It's fragile and breaks down easily for a multitude of reasons, also it requires a very specific cell to latch onto to begin its reproduction in the body.  Alot of factors work AGAINST it.

By the way, I hope your paycheck is a biggun, I got a hottub I been keeping my eye on!

Oh Det, puh-leeeeeeeeeeeze! It's time to come down off the cross, darling.

Nobody here hates you, but honestly you've gotten yourself in a terrible flap over five-eighths of fuck all. The likelihood of you being infected as a result of what you've described is pretty remote. But you're not going to know unless you collect those results.

Now you owe it to yourself and the rest of us who've patiently (and not so patiently) answered your questions and advised you in this matter to get those results and move on.

I'm so convinced of a negative result, that if you test positive I'll eat Andy Velez's hat.

Now go and make the call.

Latex condoms used with water based lubricant will prevent the transmission of HIV and a range of other sexually transmissible infections.

Det,

You have a choice. You can go collect your negative result and come back here and tell us all about it, or you can continue to wring your hands - and get a time out. There's nothing more we can do for you here and the time out would be to encourage you to get some anxiety counseling to help you deal with this so you can collect your negative results and move on with your life.

Well,  i still didnt get the balls to get results  I just read a thread from someone in the living with hiv forum saying that they're ready for death, and this girl i know told me hiv is a death sentance.  I dont wanna belive it.  I know, I gotta get tested. Its so fucken scary.  Cause all the sex i had. Regarding condom use, it isnt perfect.  I watched law and order, and this nurse on that show said condoms arent effective.  I just dont know what to do if i do test poz.  How can i tell my family this?  PEople here said female to male transmission is low, but i still read posts of hetro guys still getting it.  How could i deal with being poz and trying to live for a long time?

Det,

You've crossed the line.

We don't tolerate trawling, but you've gone too far.

This thread is reported.
