Breast milk is not a risk for infection.

The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth.
Very specific health care situations.

You cannot get HIV from breast milk and stop poking your lymph nodes, as that's why they hurt.

Joe

I am afraid that there could be more situations of infection.
 1) If child can be infected from mother through breast milk, logically thinking, why would not be possible that an adult to be infected from a woman through the same breast milk?
2) What are these "Very specific health care situations"? This seems to be a very broad area...

 1) I am wondering if one who might got infected 12 years ago with HIV can be diagnosed at this moment with the standard Ab/Ag HIV test? Is the body still producing the anti-bodies so they can be detected the HIV ELISA test? If not, the test can show a false negative.
The HIV like symptoms appeared 5 years ago so at 7 years after the potential infection and became worse. Repeated tests at 7 years, 10 years and 12 years after the potential infection all were NEGATIVE.

 2) How many types of HIV exists? I know about HIV1 and HIV2 but there are also other types? Are there any tests for these other types?

 3) I do not think that there is an ADN/PCR test for HIV2, at least I could not find one. How is the quantitative assessment (viral load) done for people infected with HIV2?

You're making this situation much more complicated than it has to be. You don't say what your risk factor(s) may have been. If you have had unprotected vaginal and/or anal intercourse then you had risks and you should get tested.

Neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms is ever the way to know anything accurately about your HIV status. If you are HIV positive it will show on any standard HIV test. At 3 months or more past a risk all generations of HIV tests in use today will give you a reliable result.

You should only post in your original thread ... I will address your comments here but DO NOT COMMENT AGAIN IN THIS THREAD . You can read the posting guide here ...

Please do not post questions that you have about your own concerns in another person's thread. This is called thread hijacking and we do not encourage this practice so if you want to ask questions do it in your own thread .

Breast milk is not a risk to adults ... only children with developing immune systems are at risk . There has never been a case of an adult contracting HIV from breast milk .

You ask what are these "Very specific health care situations"? ... Needle stick injury's or a surgeon getting cut can put doctors and nurses  at risk . If you avoid sharing IV drug rigs and use condoms correctly and consistently you will avoid HIV ... its that simple .

If you care to discuss this do it in your own thread .
