Title: Virology I: How Viruses Work, Free Online Course from Columbia University
Post by: oksikoko on July 26, 2013, 01:24:53 am
In case anyone's interested, next week is the first week of an 11-week Columbia University MOOC on Coursera called Virology I: How Viruses Work.

The description is "Introductory virology course emphasizing the common reactions that must be completed by all viruses for successful reproduction within a host cell."

Workload: 3-4 hours/week
Starts: Aug 1st 2013

I don't know anything about this course, and MOOCs are hit or miss, so this is more an informational post than an endorsement. The AIDS class from Emory University was really, really good, but I've listened to some real clunkers. You can usually tell after the first week, so give it a shot if you're interested in virology at all.
