Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
« on: April 01, 2007, 05:10:06 pm »
Well, sometimes a second or third look at a film is as good as the first.  I dont know how many times I have seen this film but evey time I watch it it's a new experience. I watched it again Friday night.  I saw:  three guys who have hearts of gold and endure the stigma of being DRAG queens. They survive, baby!! They make life just a little bit sweeter and a little bit more tolerable for all of us.
Plus, this movie is fun!!!

Absolutely!!! This movie makes you put on your flower skirt and lets you dance and bounce on the spring lawn like a newborn foal. Good stuff! :D

Hi Bear

this is one of my favourite movies..winter is slowly making it's way to NZ so it's will soon be time for the log fire and snuggling down to watch some old movies..I'll put that one at the top of my "watch again" list.

Hugs

Thanks sweetie!!

Annie..... That is a cozy thought. Of course we are just starting to wake up from winter here in the northeastern USA. The first spring flowers are out. I have (literally) hibernated for 3 months so maybe this movie will help me get out and shake a booty.

Yeah, like they say ..."drag is the drug"!   Another Aussie movie that I just love is  "Muriel's Wedding".  I think I've seen it like five times.

Whatever happened to Australian movies?  There was that real flurry of them around Priscilla, Muriel etc but not much lately.

I do enjoy enjoy Priscilla and when I think of it often break into that Patti Page song that Guy Pearce does a number to.  I am sooooo gay ;D

I love that movie/DVD... I am getting old.  It is classic camp drag at its finest.  When I need a good laugh, I play it or "Bird Cage".

Poz since 1990.

I got to watch Priscilla in Atlanta when it first came out.  Sitting in a theater with a full audience of Queens, priceless!

And how about that ABBA collectible... ?
