It's funny how we all get attached to our fellow animal companions. Our dear Oliver, recently blind due to diabetes has surprisingly been an inspiration for me. I am posting this in this forum for this reason.

We have always thought that we had the means to correct his eyesight at great cost but my own medical bills have mounted up beyond belief. He has shown me how resilient a soul can be. Oliver has adapted with his own challenges better and faster than I ever imagined. Innocence. Faith in the love we give to him.

He still wags his snubby tail and barks with excitement to go to work with his papa Kenny.

It just makes me smile.

Where would we be without our babies, they give a lot of us a reason to get up in the mornings.

The older ones show us that despite their disabilities they always remain happy in the knowledge they will be cared for by those of us who love them so much, and I believe they can show us how to get the most out of life regardless of what is going on with us and around us.

I'm glad he is able to still join his papa every day.

Beautiful.  I can tell you've an excellent dad. 

Even though cats are a bit more independent than dogs, my cat makes me smile all the time.  I was reading a post by Jeff the other day, about how pets look into our eyes with love.  My cat does that.  It gives me a very warm feeling, whatever is going on.

So glad your dog has you.  And thanks for posting that.

   Having met Oliver , I can tell you he is an inspiration to me also .
   He is a loving and also a Barking wonder   
      I personally love my " Red Rocket "   ( Red Bone Hound )
       He shows me love when I am in my worst of worst physically
   drained states .   These couple weeks I have been home , my dog has
 been a gift from GOD

Yes I too follow The Way of The Dog , in that I try to be loyal to friends, live in the hear and Now , don,t hold on to grudges , and enjoy food and walking.

However out off the blue in the last two days some very expensive footwear has been serverely disfigured,by the creature glued to my lap after voice was RAISED .

So Mitch , that just leaves the fact that you and Kenny must be helping humans to a blind dog .
