Mitch,

I have had cats/dogs all my life and at some point you need to decide on who the alpha male is going to be.  My water squirt bottle and I have decided that I AM THE ALPHA MALE and woe to any cat, claws or not, who forgets that fact.

Joe

Oh they're getting to know who is the Alpha male alright. The squirt bottle. lol. I just have to pick it up and they know to stop the scratching on the sofa. Very effective.

Matty is adorable.

What I like about the squirt bottle, is that once I use it on them a couple of times, I only have to make the sound and they stop their mischief.  Pavlov's Dog indeed!

Yup. :)

We moved their kitty box today into the laundry area. Smell of cat urine and the litter spill just wasn't working for us. lol. FIVE whole feet but it required putting in a kitty door through the wall. Such trama! It's been left open with a rubber band and a tack. The human door is open too. Gai Pan decided to pee in the bed in revolt right in front of us. First "accident" from day one. hmm...

I'll give him a break tonight but that's it.

btw- bed freshly laundered hours prior.  >:(

M, what kind of litter do you use?  I use Fresh Step and I never, ever smell it.  It's a little more than brands like Tidy Cat, but well worth the "no scent" effect.  I also put newspapers down under and a little around my cat's litter box to take care of the "stray litter" that gets kicked out of the box.

A friend recommended Naturally Fresh made by The Blue Buffalo Co. It is walnut based and is chemical free. It says "Superior Oder Control" and actually works pretty good but since the box was located in the bathroom a mere 12 feet away from my side of the bed... the odor springs to life every time they do their footwork dance. The box has a cover and I placed a plastic tray in front but the stray litter still spreads a bit.

I think they both are ok now with the new placement but we are leaving the door cracked open for a few days. Then comes the challenge of them getting used to the kitty door in the wall.

Today's nap:

Oh yes, this thread continues!! lol.

Gai Pan has an affection for my keyboard. Today he stepped on it and typed out gibberish while on my home page. I decided to google it. The first entry was about cataract surgery lenses.

I thought nothing of it until I realized that I had just came home from bringing Moo Goo to the vet because I thought she had an eye infection.

Why bother with a book tour when I'm sure now that he is quite capable of being an investment guru or lottery number genius? Gay Pants (lol) would never steer me wrong.  :)

No my dear. It was the bug that could have bitten me, not Gay Pants. Although now that the poison paw theory possibility exists I might need that yellow pill after all. lol.

Oh, now that's just cruel lol.  Luckily my cat is not an outdoor kitty.  So she was safe inside.  You're on a roll tonight dear.

Cats already rule; have you not watched that video of cats refusing to give up the dog's bed?  I wish I had the link I would surely post it.

Dogs could never rule, they actually like people.  Cats would do just fine, since they already look down on anything that isn't another cat.

No way that dogs could rule.  Imagine all of Congress with their noses in each others ass.  Oh wait...

Miss Beazley, the Scottish terrier and onetime White House resident, died after a battle with lymphoma, probably brought on from eating cat poop .

In all fairness it could have been suicide from the shame of being Georgie B's dog .

She was a republican and even accepted treats from Scalia. Otherwise, by now, she would have thrown herself in front of a MoveOn.org bus rather than continue the shame.

Any well bred dog would have ran in terror from this!

At first, I DID think it was Scalia out for lunch. After I blew it up, I saw it was Shrub. That poor damn dog......

And, of course, not to be outdone by a *cough* dog, there is plenty of conspiracy surrounding 'Socks' Clinton and the oddly suspicious timing of his or her death! Considering all the other right-wing conspiracy theories, I'm not even sure if this is satire!! It only goes to show the feline lengths some White House pets will go to!
