Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

About 5 weeks ago I had protected  insertive anal sex with a guy of unknown status. However, the condom broke but I inmediately took it out. it wasn't less than 10 seconds. After that, I put on another condom and we continued. About 4 days after that I recieved I blowjob from a guy. The problem is that about 9 days after the first contact I got ghonorrea. I don't know who I got it from since both of them say they are clean. If the guy that I had anal sex with was the one that I contracted the ghonorrea from, is there a high probability I would have contracted HIV as well in case he had it ? I'm like really scared and freaking out right now

Alex, one of the other guys having had gonorrhea would not have put you at greater risk for HIV. Theoretically the condom breaking was a risk, but it was a low level one. It was a single instance, of short duration and the condom protected you until it broke. The risk is lower for the insertive partner.

Receiving oral is not a risk for HIV. Period.

Taking it all into consideration I do expect you will test negative. You can test initially at 6 weeks. A negative at 6 weeks is very unlikely to change at 3 months.

I expect you to come out of this ok as far as HIV is concerned.

heyy everyone, I've already posted on here before.

3 months ago I had protected anal sex for about 3 minutes until the condom broke. I took it out inmediately and it was less than a minute before I took it out. This was on a monday.

On saturday I hooked up with this other guy and I recieved a blowjob and I sucked him for like about 30 seconds.

However, around 7-12 days after I developed ghonorrea and along with it a headache,sore throat and a fever. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me something for the ghonorrea and in around two-three days I was perfectly fine.

Would the last three symptoms indicate ARS, or were they as a result of the ghonorrea?

I'm getting tested tomorrow so I'll let you know how it went. I talked to both guys and they said they don't have HIV, but I don't know what to believe.I'm still pretty nervous tho

Do you think I have a high risk? and are the Oraquick test reliable?

Yes, Oraquick is a reliable test.

The only risk you had was when the condom broke, however, you are more likely than not to get a negative result when you test tomorrow. Your result will be conclusive.
