Hello Pls be patient with me as I am not very eduacated about HIV except for the few web pages I have briefly looked upon .

Well here is my concern about 6 Years ago I met my ex wife we met fell in love etc she lived in the U.S I lived in Canada She had gotten an HIV test and tested Negative before we met I had two tests done during our marriage that tested negative we were in a monagumus relationship and she was with no one during this time except for me . okay with that being said one night I was at work and one of the guys I work with cut his hand it was bleeding pretty bad and he wiped it on the cardboard boxes we stock . me without thinking could have possibly touched it and noticed I had a paper cut on my hand was I at any risk in this enviroment ? also I have had what seems to be an elarged lymph node for the past 2 years and the doctors keep shrugging it off as it was prolly a node that has never gone down . also I have prostate enlargement issues  . are these signs of anything ? just been freaked out because me and my wife still talk and are friends we havent been together over 1 year and a half and as of lately she has had Hives all over her for the past 6 weeks and she has never had them before and I just keep adding things up . Me and my wife Did have unprotected sex but only with each other and I was tested a year into the marriage due to Immigration etc so is any of this sound like I could be in jeopardy ? could her Hives be anything more then that considering we havent had sex in a year and a half ? are hives even part of anything ?  Im a worry wart and stress about everything and my lack of knowledge is killing me pls help thanks

You were not at risk from the circumstance you described. HIV is infectious only through anal and vaginal sex, sharing drug-injecting needles, and occasionally from mother to child.

I urge you to read our extensive lessons on transmission, found on the home page.

Again, there is no risk in the scenario you propose. I suspect that since you have been told this before, and have a history of testing, you perhaps have a fear of HIV that transcends rationality. Please address this. You'll be healthier and happier.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

You can do yourself a big favor and stop surfing the net where for sure you will find lots of misinformation to feed your worst fears.

Protecting yourself sexually from HIV transmission is really quite simple: use condoms everytime for vaginal and anal intercourse. Yes, it really is that simple.

And get on with your life.

Hives are not an HIV-specific symptom and ARS symptoms certainly wouldn't go on for such an extended period.

You are worrying needlessly about HIV. You should be discussing your hives with an allergist or a skin doctor.

This is NOT an HIV situation. Period.
