That is more expensive than last years, probably die to the fuel surcharge.  I think the credit is per outside cabin.  I think this years credit was $50.  I had an inside cabin all to myself and paid 1 & 1/2 times for it and only got $25 credit.

I'll have to make up for it my eating more.  It may not be possible.  I ate a large breakfast, large lunch and double portions at dinner every night. I gained 10 pounds on the cruise, but had already lost 5 by Tuesday.  I hope to see you and everyone else from the previous cruise there.

It's a good time and always somethng to do. If you like meeting new people, visting new places, making friends, you can't go wrong with this cruise.  I already signed up for the next one and already counting the days for the fun to begin again.

Hope more people can join us.

I hope to be able to join in this year. Money is not an issue .... but time from work is. Hopefully I can get the time off work. Sounds like it would be a blast. What goes on when on these cruises?

The cruise is basically a getaway for guys that are positive.  There is also a hetero group of positive folks going as well.  There are some mixers plus seminars geared to each group.  This pas year, the scheduled events included a welcome aboard cocktail party, talks on advances in HIV, discussion of side effects, plus a movie night and a Halloween Party.  Plus there were two private excursions for the group with one being in St. Thomas and the other in St. Maartin.  The organizer knows the local contacts and is able to take the group on special excursions not offered by the cruise line.

The part that is invaluable is the opportunity to meet new friends, talk about things related to HIV in an open setting plus just have lots of fun.  It's a nice break from the normal routine of life and I would hope you get the opportunity to go.

That sounds wonderful..but expensive. $600 plus $300 and that's not including air fare!

Yes but where else can you go for a week to multiple Caribbean locations and enjoy good meals morning, noon, and night plus entertainment for that amount of money?  All in all, it continues to be a great value for those who go.

Sounds so tempting (and with a partner who claims he gets seasick though I'll be damned if I can remember him ever being on a cruise).  Could I afford it?  Dunno.  Seems like I finally have a reason to call "Can I Afford It?" on The Suze Orman Show!

Cruise updates.............

First Paul the cruise organizer has made arrangements with Carnival cruise
lines that passengers may now reserve a cabin with only a deposit of
$150.00 instead of the normal $300.00. A second payment of $150 is
due in mid May and final payment would not be due until the end of
July.

Second Paul annouced the hostess for this year's Hetero cruise will be Valerie
Wojciechowicz. Valerie is a nationally known speaker at many HIV
conferences whose motto is "Empowerment through Education". Valerie
will be presenting a lecture/workshop while on the Retreat.

***Price reduction ***

Breakimg news from Paul about the 2009 POZ cruise retreat

I am quite pleased to share with you that I have renegotiated our
rates with Carnival for this October's Annual Poz Cruise Retreat!!!!

Rates have now come down by about $60 per person for an inside or
outside cabin and roughly $80 per person for a balcony cabin!

With economy being as uncertain as it is I wanted to be able to offer
rates as affordable as possible and I think that I have succeeded. We
are still offering the $100.00 per cabin ship board credit and one
open bar cocktail party.

In addition to the savings the $150 deposit option is still in
effect. If you want to take advantage of the $150 deposit please
indicate this on your reservations form.

For those of you already under deposit there is no need to call me as
the priced reduction will be reflected on your final bill.

I hope you can join us as we sail from October 10 – 18, 2009 on the
new Carnival Freedom to San Juan, St Thomas, Antigua, Tortola and
Nassau. The rate for an inside cabin is now only $489 plus $237.41 in
taxes = $726.41 per person. This comes down to only $90 a day per
person including meals, entertainment, parties, lectures and so much
more.

Please call to reserve now!

Sincerely,
Paul
