FOR WEASEL - CITROËN SUSPENSION ADVERTISEMENT
« on: November 12, 2008, 08:04:12 pm »
You are going to like this 2 advertisements of Citroën. My father had a CX for a short time. I loved it when the suspension rised. It was like if the car floated. Citroen still makes that kind of suspension but they make it much harder to meet people´s taste. In my case, the softer the suspension, the better.

Citroen you say??

How about this one, which I imported under the "Grey Market" law, created by Jimmy Carter during his Presidency, which allows one non-conforming import in your lifetime.  This was mine, and it was created by Fonier, in Belgium.  It was done up as a Charleston, and included a leather interior, and the German brushguards, and fog lights.  Personally it was one of my favorite cars out of the sixty I've owned, and I kept it for 11 years until I had to get rid of all my cars.

Hope you like it, I sure did.

No, not quite zooooomy, they only have 602cc's in a two cylinder opposed aircooled engine.  Top speed is about 75mph with a nice 20mph tailwind.  Personally the speed never bothered me, but the ride of a Cadillac in a car the weight of a Honda Goldwing motorcycle always topped the list of attributes that made it a true love.  Also it's 11" of wheel travel on all four coners made it impossible to turn over, and dirt roads smoother than a freeway.

The Dyane 6 and the 2CV from Citroën have been very popular here. The painting ou are showing in your picture was also available in the combination of "cherry" and black, which looks great.

From the factory when the Charleston was made, you could get it in the cheery and black and also two tones of grey.  This one with the cream and black, with a grey leather interior, was just my request when he built it.  I imported it in 1989.

The one in my icon is also one I owned for almost 15 years.
