The Bactrim/Septra double-edged sword that cuts both ways??

I started meds - atripla - just a month ago, and was put on Bactrim as a prophylaxis just before. What I have noticed in the last few weeks is a return of signs of sinus infection, and occasional cough. It seems I read years ago that Bactrim may cause pneumonia, but this may be erroneous. I DO wonder while this antibiotic is supposed to kill PCP what else is it killing that may be beneficial and could this ba causing sinus issues I have not had for more than 10 years.

From my experience with Bactrim, a lot of people are allergic to this drug.  For me, the symptoms included minor fever, aches, and a runny nose.  I eventually developed a rash and then my blood pressure was affected causing it to drop.  I ended up in the hospital for two days as a result.  You might want to talk to your doctor and explain what is happening.  There are alternatives including Dapsone.

Bactrim is notorious/dangerous for : kidneus stones ( at least 2 litres of water ) , bone marrow ( supress production of some cells ) , anemia , and fatigue.......and could cause hipersensibility.............proved!
Hivers must be taken off soon as their CD4 > 200 in 6 months or in 3 consecutive CD4 tests.

My cd4 is less than 200. My doctor told me the same tihng, that I would take this until I reached 200 and for 6 months beyond ... I don't think I want to do that!
