Information on Integrase Inhbitors, "me-too" drugs and second generation

I try to learn as much as I can about Integrase Inhibitors as I can. I do truly believe, based on the research I have done, that Integrase Inhibitors will be key in one day eradicating HIV. Like I have stated previously, since switching from Reyataz to Isentress I feel that I have gained back some, although a small amount, of fat in my face.
But anywho, I am interested in second/third generation Integrase Inhibitors because I worry about becoming resistant to the one I am currently on.

What are you taking Isentress with, Truvada?

Yes, with Truvada. I believe, and doctors have told me, that I developed lipoatrophy on Reyataz and Truvada. But I continue to take Truvada because I know it could be SO MUCH worse then what I complain of. I do not have any lipodystrophy belly or a buffalo hump, and I have not lost weight in my arms or legs. So yes, I am taking Truvada and Isentress as my second combination. I have been taking it since late 2007/early 2008.

Enjoyed reading your link. The abstract showed the similar interaction between the integrase inhibitors in study and raltegravir. Their final conclusion was the key for me. Quote:

"Dramatically diverse classes of molecules look to be required for inhibition of viral enzymes in a long term fashion. Thus, in our eyes, the only hope for complete viral eradication is innovation."

Eradication must be the goal, not "me-too" drugs.
