My Personal Experience with Vitamins
« on: February 18, 2009, 01:25:34 pm »
This is not someone else's story or made up.  100% truthful and my personal experience.

First, let me start by saying that I personally have always believed in taking Vitamins to supplement your nutrition.  Vitamins as a cure for HIV is wishful thinking, and completely baseless.

Here are my two major experiences, both with my pets.

First - Many years ago I had a mixed breed large dog, basically a sherpard mix.  At this time, she was about 13 years old or so.  She had been losing all her hair, she was very lethargic and her appetite was off and on.  I took her to the Vet and he told me she was getting old and there was pretty much nothing I could do about it.  Fair enough.  I started putting a table spoon of powdered Vit C in her food daily.  It was not easy getting her to eat in general, but I did so.  Within weeks she started to be more energized, her coat grew in and her appetite improved.  She lived 3 more years in relatively good health before being killed by a pitbull. (whole different story there).  Was this a coincidence, I do not believe so, but anything is possible.  Was she suffering from a Vitamin deficiency ?  Certainly a possibility.  The story however is dead on accurate.
Second - This was only about 10 years ago, actually more, 1998.  I had a dog in my shop Queens,NY.  He was a mixed breed Terrier/Rottie, great animal.  Anyhow, at that time he was over a year old, if my memory serves me right, he was close to two.  One day I noticed he was vommiting green foamy liquid.  He apparently had drank Coolant off the shop floor (I wont tell you what I did to the mechanic, it was not pretty).  I rushed my little friend to the VET (a different Vet).  They put him on Fluids asap, could not pump his stomach because the toxin had already passed that point.  The Vet told me that his chance for survival was very slim and most certainly his Kidneys would be damaged badly if he did survive at all.  I chose to keep him on fluids and monitor his Kidney counts with hopes of improvement.  The good thing about Vets, they have less to worry about in regards to malpractice and so I could make the next request.  I asked her to put my dog on a Vit C drip.  Why?  Because based on many "theories", there was a chance it would help in flushing out the poisons.  The Vet told me that if he was 6 months or younger, he would be able to recover as the kidneys can rejuvenate themselves at that age, but not at his age.  Well, his numbers began to improve.  I thn had him transferred out to Roslyn, Long Island.  There is a Vet Hospital there, 24 hours and all. They actually had different specialists....who knew you could find an Ear/Nose & Throat Vet? lol.
I had them monitor him for 24 hours maintaining his fluids and Vit C drip.
At the end, PUC survived and is still alive today with NO KIDNEY damage.  This is not a coincidence.  Event the Vet has a picture of him on the wall labeled "miracle dog".  It's not a miracle.  it's a combination of good doctoring with modern medicine and complimentary nutrients.

I truly felt hat people can benefit greatly from supplements.  HIV or not.  Taken with your head, they can only help.

Thanks for taking the time to read my rabble...  :)

Well, there was a purpose for that....no matter how badly I may have hidden it.   :)

I really think that vitamins have a purpose and place for those with HIV, or anyone for that matter.
What a fasinating story about your two dogs too.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the experience. I wished I have had more of a chance, time & money to try more therapy to save my precious girl (Westie) from Bladder Cancer (TCC) last year. She had a good quality of life with supplements though, keeping her beautiful, happy and alert. So, am still in a daze on how her cancer condition happened. Had I additionally stumbled upon the Hoxsey Formula much much earlier, my partner and I would have had tried that too, given that that may not be a guarantee too despite its reported high success rates. Guess some things are destined. Sigh. :-\

Nevertheless, good to know more about how Vit C helps.

Peace!
