How safe is this site?

I just posted a reply to a thread in Living with HIV.  I have a pic like most and placed a tag line under my pic, however that tag line was changed today and not by me.  Credit to the dumb ass that invaded my profile with a better line, but I guess this site is not respected/protected.

There is no moderator on here at this time.  This sucks since I want to trust people and this crap just proves me wrong again. 

Whomever did this, owes me an apology.  I want to stay here, but if my personal profile can be accessed, what else.  I hope Ann, Andy or Peter can shed some light. 

I had my identity stolen last year and it has been hell.  I do not need the stress.

I sincerely doubt you have been hacked nor has this site been hacked. 

There are some 'quirks' in the new-ish software that could have caused a transposition of information perhaps.   I think that is a far stretch by itself, but the most plausible explanation.

Please send an email to Tim Horn or any mod to have this investigated though.   

If I was a hacker, I certainly wouldn't bother with menial information like a signature, I'd be stealing your credit card information and things I can actually use.  Before starting a shitstorm, please contact the owners with your concerns.  They do deserve that much as a courtesy at least and probably can tell you exactly what happened from logs and shit.

I have 'reported' this thread to have this matter looked into for you if you don't have the opportunity to email them yourself.

Dingo was kind enough to point out there have been glitches on the board, but I prefer to be safe - well at least this time.  It has been tough to even open up here and this just sent me to PO land.

I'm very sorry to hear about the confusion surrounding your profile signature line.  Whiile I'll definitely be in touch with the Smart + Strong IT guy about this, I cant for the life of me figure out how this may have happened.  All passwords -- which would definitely be needed to access your profile for the sake of changing your signature line -- are encrypted.  In fact, they can't even been seen by us.  Please believe me when I say that this site is very much protected. 

Like I said, I'll be happy to look into this for you.  If something else comes up -- or you figure out what might have happened on your own -- please drop me a PM saying so.
