HIV Youth Project

Hey everyone. After testing positive in early July, I tried going online to find more information and support and as a gay, Asian American college student, I found sites targeting HIV-positive youth and people of color to be terribly lacking -- save this website/forum. It has helped get me through some pretty dark times. Now that the worst has passed, I feel compelled to do something about my situation. So I got to thinking about creating a website that would particularly cater to positive youth, LGBT-identified, women and communities of color. I admit that this project may prove to be a little too ambitious, but I thought it would be well worth the try.

So, the Project is now accepting personal story and article submissions on your experiences on testing positive and/or living with HIV. We are also open to any other submissions, such as artwork, spoken word, blog links and etc.

Good for you. I was talking to my ASO and told her that more people are needed who are poz to talk to those who are just finding out. When I found out none of the folks I was dealing with were HIV+. How can anyone know how I feel unless they have walked a mile in my shoes. I think thats a great idea Cali. Run with it.

Hi, the idea of this project is really good.

I wanted to advice you to get in contact with AIESEC, it is a global network of students with offices in over 80 countries, since couple of years ago they are running a learning network initiative about hiv/aids prevention in several countries.

Perhaps AIESEC in the US (www.aiesecus.org) is taking part of this initiative too, i think you both can cooperate closely.
