Post by: jaxx on March 17, 2007, 07:55:05 am
hi guys i'm 22 year old male from turkey 14 months ago i had an protected vaginal intercourse with a sex worker during the sex i wasn't exactly erectile anyway i worried about hiv because i was brushed my teeth before two or three hours from this activity and i had a teeth which lost its plombe(i know my english is terrible) and we kissed each other very deeply(french kiss)any way 4.5 weeks after this activity i had 37 celcius degree fever and cold symptoms after that i freaked out and i got p24 antigen+igg antibody combi assay on day 45 it was negative but after that on 10 th week i realised and object in my throtte actually not exactly in my throtte it's exactly in the point between my chin and my neck and it's still in there my question is my test result is conclusive? should i get tested again? i'd appreciate if you answer my question if it's possible

Jax, I am not clear if you are saying you had unprotected intercourse or not. If it was unprotected then getting tested was the thing to do and that negative result at 42 days is very reassuring.

The average time to seroconversion is 22 days and all but the smallest number of those who are going to seroconvert will do so within 4-6 weeks after an exposure to the HIV virus. The CDC does recommend testing at 13 for a final result, so if your incident was unprotected then I suggest you re-test at 13 weeks. If you used a condom then there's no need for testing as they provide very effective protection.

Kissing is not a risk for HIV transmission even with having had some dental work done.

As long as you always use a condom for intercourse whether it's vaginal or anal it doesn't matter if you are with a sex worker or a civilian. Condoms provide very effective protection no matter whom you are with.

As to your "symptoms" about which you're concerned -- your sore throat, etc., none of that is HIV specific and in any case neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms is ever the way to know about HIV status. The ONLY way to know is with an HIV test at the proper time.

If you have symptoms which are bothering you that's something to discuss with your doctor.

Please clarify if I have missed anything here.

Cheers,

OK. Good. I'm glad to know you were wearing a condom.

Leave your neck alone. If you have swollen lymph nodes discuss them with your doctor. Pressing, squeezing and otherwise bothering them can create a problem where none exists.

This is NOT an HIV situation. Keep using a latex condom everytime you have intercourse and you'll be ok as far as HIV is concerned.

jaxx,

Can I ask why you are using different usernames while posting to our forums? Thus far, you have also used ice_t (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=925.0)

Please realize that this kind of activity is disrespectful of other forum members, as well as our moderators. People spend a considerable amount of time helping others in these forums. Using multiple accounts is at the very least annoying, if not deceiving and disrespectful of others. It is also against our Terms of Membership (http://forums.poz.com/Terms.htm) which you agreed to when you became a member. This information is also contained within the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0), which you should have read by now. So really, you have no excuse.

You must realize that the answers won't change, no matter how many names you post under.

I would appreciate a reply to this message, and I hope you will commit to using just one account - preferably your original one. If not, you will be banned from further access to the forums.
