Forgot my pill last night!!
« on: September 20, 2012, 10:22:27 am »
I forgot to take my Atripla last night! I usually take it around 2 AM.

Would it be ok to take it now? I've been taking Atripla since August 2011 and I've never skipped a dose.

One missed dose in 13 months isn't going to have any noticeable effect.

If it was me, I would just skip it.  Taking Atripla in the morning makes me feel "drunk" all day.

Thanks for your reply! I was so distressed that I called up my clinic, the nurses told me to take it, so I did.

8 hours late isn't that bad, huh? I can't believe that I forgot to take it last night. The sad thing is that it was the first thought that popped into my head when I woke up.

DanMo, missing a dose for the first time is a very valid concern.  Be glad you didn't freak out like the guy below.  I feel sorry for him.  I worry about irrational things, but I can't imagine worrying over one minute.  Hell, your watch could be fast.  This was a question to a doc at The Body.

"Hi, I am currently on Lamzid and aluvia, I always take my meds at 9am and 9pm but yesterday I took my meds at 9:01 pm. What are the side effects, will I develop resistant?"

Heh. This thread just made me realise I'm nearly two and a half hours late. Not worried, but I did go out into the kitchen to take them and make a sandwich (supposed to take Prezista with some food) before I posted. ;D

Hey Ted, that's really quite funny that someone would freak out over 1 minute.

Hi Ann, I'm glad my post served as a reminder then! I usually take Atripla sometime within a 4-hour span since you're supposed to take it right before bed and I don't always go to sleep at the same hour.

I was expecting to feel drunk, like darryaz mentioned, but I was pleased to find out that I didn't feel anything at all... it didn't even affect my attention in class a couple of hours later.

I usually take my meds sometime between 11am and 3pm - it all depends on when I feel like eating. I generally aim for noon, so I consider anything after that to be "late". I just don't stress out about it and I've never taken them (so far) any later than 3pm. I have two alarms set on my phone (because I'm absolutely crap at remembering things like taking meds). The first one goes off at eleven, and the second one goes off at noon. The second one I have the snooze function set so that it nags me every ten minutes until I do something about it - preferably take my meds, but sometimes I accidentally hit the off button instead of the snooze button. Like today. ::)

My first post-starting (six weeks) blood draw came back with a VL of only 414 (down from 30,000-odd) and 414 would have been UD only a few years ago, so I'm a happy camper. :)

I wonder if he counts down the seconds before 9 pm.

I forgot my pills one night and had to do an aids walk to medicine cabinet .

I have a pill organizer or I would forget if I took them most times . I'm also on insulin and I'm going to have to start writing it down when I take a shot , last week I wasn't sure if I took a shot or not , insulin isn't something something to mess up with when it comes to dosing especially if you were to double dose .
