Zephyr & OzPaul's NIH journey
« on: June 11, 2006, 12:03:18 pm »
Hi AM Family

As some of you will know, Zephyr and I are invovled in research studies
In 3 days (Wednesday) Zephyr and I will be traveling to the NIH in Bethesda Maryland to continue in our efforts as research subjects in their Long Term Non Progressor (LTNP) studies. Zephie will be traveling from the West Coast and I'll be coming from Australia by way of NM. We travel all day Wednesday, arriving that evening. On Thursday we each will have a physical exam and a blood draw to do the basic blood screening. Friday morning she and I will be in adjoining chairs have a procedure called apherisis in which they take out our unique white blood cells then give us back our red cells. That procedure takes about 45  minutes. Also while were in the DC area Minh aka "Terpie82" will be our host, guide and dear 'family' friend and confidant. Thanks Minh in advance for your many kindnesses.

Zephie and I would like our Aids Meds family to know that we are passionately dedicated to the many LTNP research studies we are in. She and I are, for some miraculous reason able to control the virus, naturally. We are availing ourselves to these many researchers so as to hopefully help these researchers find a vaccine or cure for everyone around the Globe affected by HIV/AIDS. We are humbled beyond measure in our gift and thus we dedicate our journey to you all and many, many more.

We also want to thank those AM family members who donated money to the Zephyr Foundation. It is with those funds given with love and compassion that help make this trip to the NIH possible. We are deeply touched by your gift !!! Zephie and I will make a full accounting of these funds when we return home.

I'll write after we return and check in to let you all know of any news resulting from our trip.
Till then be well everyone.

Wishing you all Peace and Love

Paul

Safe passage to you both!  Having just today returned home from the Desert Southwest and South Plains, I advise plenty of laughter and tenderness for your journey.  It means so much when family is together. Thank you for what you're doing (you too, Minh) and I hope to be joining you as a subject soon!
