« on: July 28, 2009, 07:09:13 pm »
hey everyone !

This week is dragging, and on top of it, I am feeling like crap !! My vacation officially starts, this Friday Morning, and I will be on vacation until the 16th of August.  So, just in case you don't see me around, you know that Ed and I will be on the Florida East Coast. We're deciding to do a "Stay-cation this year, and travel around the state this year.

Can't wait to get over on the Atlantic side !!

Edited :  The first few days, we will be on Daytona Beach, and then we will be heading south to Ft. Lauderdale. We will be staying here :

That's great, Ray.  That hotel looks very nice. It's a well deserved break, and I hope you and Ed have a wonderful time!
 Luv,
Betty

I grew up in Daytona Beach! Make sure that you go to Joe's Crab shack. And if you make it over to the St. Pete/Clearwater area, hop over to Treasure Island, there's a beach there called Sand Key. Totally secluded, totally amazing.

Tokyo, this is the long-term survivor's forum.  I don't know how long you've been positive, but if it's recent, please don't post here.  Not trying to be bitchy.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Hey Ray,

The hotel you are staying at was just finished last year and it is stunning.  If you head just a little south of there, at St. Sebastian is the gay beach.  It's a quick walk for you and there is a small bodega across the street that has sandwiches and drinks.  There is also a great SW restaurant right across from the beach, where you can eat on the patio, the food is great and the scenery is just fine.  If you have never been, head over to Wilton Manor's, Ruby's is a great out/indoor place and it's always hopping.  Down the street is the Georgie's complex with some bars, a gym and some great places to eat.  There are many great dining places, all along Manor Drive (The main drag in Wilton Manors).  Also try Bill's Filling Station, which is a really friendly neighborhood bar.

For a great day trip, head down to Haulover Beach, just North of Miami, parking is $5 and it's the only nude beach in S. Florida.  Look for the guy in the pink baseball cap, trust me, you don't want to miss "him".  Have a great time.

Hi Ray,

What days will you be in Ft. Lauderdale. I'll be back from Boston on the 11th, and take my last final exam of the summer on the 12th. Perhaps we could meet one night for dinner and/or drinks.

Hello Dennis,

It would have been great, to get together, but we will be back up this way by then. We will be in Daytona, on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th , and in Ft. Lauderdale on the 6th thru the 9th !!
We're taking one day from Daytona, to go up to St. Augustine.

From Ft Lauderdale, We're then heading to Orlando for a day or two, and then back to Clearwater, or wherever the car may head to !!  :)

Perhaps another time !!!  Have a great time in Boston !!

This sounds like fun.

"Daytona Lagoon's most hair raising experience is Blackbeards Revenge.  After you climb the 62 foot tower and mount an inner tube, you"ll take a 15 MPH six story tumble down a twisting, pitch black tunnel slide.   Don't miss the  brand new Kraken's Conquest, either. It's the four lane 55-foot long Pro racer- series speed slide.  Family and friends can challenge each other to high speed watery showdowns !"

We"ll be there tomorrow !
