Its gonna suck over here.  I am in Maryland and want to see the entire thing!  :(


Dammit all, I just looked out the window.  That full moon has been shining bright all night and now its totally covered by CLOUDS!

Mouse, how is it up there in PA?

It is quite spectacular here in Melbourne - the clouds ahve cleared for a red moon and eclipse

Just turned 10.47 pm on Tuesday night here in NZ and we have a full red moon now..eclipse took about an hour and a half to pass over..what an amazing sight, and not a cloud in the sky, I tried to get some photo's of it but they didn't turn out.

I missed it, too.  The sun was just coming up at 6, and the moon would have been set by that point.

I miissed the full eclipse, but I caught the last of it while walking the dog at 4:45 am (it was still about 1/3rd eclipsed). 

Even then, it was pretty damn cool.

Missed it live, clouds and sunrise interrupted the live show. Watched it on local news via cam.

It was simply spectacular in Sydney last night, and at a great time to as it kicked off at about 7.30pm.
It was the first one I've seen as its been cloudy in the past.
It was quite eerie, the red colour shifting around the lunar surface like some blood red mist.

I invited some guys over and we had a bonfire on the beach.  For us the eclipse started around 10:30pm, full eclipse was at 12:31am and it ended around 2:31am.   Cloudless sky.  Amazing how bright the stars and milky way became as the shadow crossed the moon.  And when we walked out to the beach there was enough light to walk without a flashlight.  Awesome moonlight in the ocean waves.  Then as the shadow covered the moon you couldn't see the ocean.  When the eclipse was at it's peak a number of shooting stars streaked past the moon.   Some of the guys hung out late and we ended up playing in the indonesian hut until the full moonlight returned.    Quite awesome.....    Next lunar eclipse you should plan to be in Hawai'i
