The Bush Doctrine As It Applies to My Apartment
« on: July 27, 2007, 11:35:51 pm »
So, there's a new chick who lives below us.

She is very nice.

She is also hot, and this makes me like her.

We get along quite nicely.

However, she is in the nasty habit of leaving CDs, the titles of which I can only assume are "Stevie Nicks Greatest Hits" and "The Cure's Greatest Hits" in her stereo.  And putting them on repeat.  And putting the volume at maximum.

And then leaving her apartment... thus causing me to hear "Edge of Seventeen" fourteen times in as many hours.

I like Stevie Nicks a lot... but not that much.

I am now getting her back by blasting Le Tigre, Bjork, Ladytron, and The Smiths on my stereo as loudly as possible.

I want her to know that she's messing with a faggot with an extensive music library at his disposal, and that I will win this war.

Does this make me a bad person?

 ;)

No comment...  :P

I'm kidding. I had that happen one time where a downstairs neighbor left something akin to Jazz meeting Trance on all day for many, many days. It drove me and my roommate crazy. What did I do? I broke out my Prince collection when I knew they were home, and I blared that sucker for a week straight. (My roommate and I wore earplugs) Needless to say, they never, ever, did it again.

Unrelated, but they also bothered me when they would get intimate with each other. Their bedroom was underneath mine, and that guy did not have anything even close to a regular rhythm.

Good choice!!!!! Has always loved Prince.Which songs did you play? If that would've been me, it would've been Prince's Controversy LP, the song would be Jack U Off to help with the neighbors rhythm problem... ;D But for sheer loudness, I would've played, Let's Go Crazy the extended version, just for that guitar riff alone is enough to get anyones attention....

Wicked. Isn't this on the same album as "Last Xmas I gave you my heart?"... that's pure punishment. Especially in july. Fire, brimstone and Wham on endless repeat.

I would rather think that a nice rendition of "She Bang, She Bang", full blast, on permanent repeat, would do a nice job on her.( by Mr Hong of course)

I really love this story.

Hot chicks rule. But music is sacred, and that is some seriously whack behaviour. Does she have pets?

I dunno that you'd be a bad person for such retaliation, but your taste in music is outstanding.

BTW, I think this might be my first post on this forum. Cheers.

Basquo~~ Yep, that is the catch line of the song...

Damn, registered a year and just made a post tonight? Has to agree with Thunter Bunny on that one, of all the threads to respond to. But either way, Gibson, How you DOING?

Where has Benj gone to? Did he ever tie the knot? Or did he say the hell with it and was someone else's flower girl? I miss his wicked sense of humor.

Yeah, well you know, Life happens. I have been coming to poz.com/aidsmeds.org for a lot longer than a year. I am not sure why I have not posted but I have perused a few threads. I have been on a mission to learn as much as possible, and the more I learn it seems like the less I know. Also, the more I learn the more what I learned changes, AND the more I learn the less my doctor knows. I have asked. She doesn't know.

Like everyone else I have a long story that leads to this moment. I am sure I will share all that at some point.

For now, I am doing very well, thank you! How are you Akasha?

I am comforted to know you are all here, alive and interacting.

Ya, apparently. I am an old Smiths freak and I saw Le Tigre open for Beck in SF. They blew me away.

I dunno Nickel Creek. Sure it isn't a Nickelback and Knob Creek evening?

Eww. Nickelback. *shudder*

NO.  Not Nickelback.  Nickel Creek.  I was in a mellow, bluegrassy kind of mood the other night.

Really pretty stuff.  Great harmonies.

I do so dig the bluegrass thing. Steve Earle is underrated. I also dig that a thread that starts with The Bush Doctrine can lead to the word "bluegrass".

Now that poses a question...Are you speaking of your ID doc who knows nothing or your primary doc? My primary doc is quick to tell me he knows very little about hiv but works in my ID doc's office once a week. I guess he is working on learning more. If it is your ID doc, you might consider looking for a new one unless you are stuck with her.

As far as how I am doing, can't complain healthwise, although my diabetes seems to be doing it's usual number on me. But ya know what doesn't kill me makes me stronger and prolly just a tad bit evil.... ;D

Akasha,

I ask very complicated questions, and as we all know the science behind this stuff is still being sussed out. It is not just my current doc. I have simply heard "I don't know" or "We don't know" an awful lot since I was diagnosed 5 years ago. It is sort of comical in a way. I am by no means an expert and yet we sort of have to keep learning lest we end up following some doctrine that is no longer relevant.
Welcome to life and related paradigms.

Surely I am not in the minority on this "I don't know" experience?

Yeah, I would say you are a tab bit evil because of diabetes. But as it makes you stronger I will keep my mouth shut. :)

-Gibson
