Just tested Poz at Indonesia
« on: October 05, 2014, 10:48:48 am »
Dear all,

Im 31 years old, male from Jakarta, Indonesia...googling around since i got the result on 1 october 2014.

Last year i started regular exercises, joining gym and got coached by personal trainer. I was around 175lbs and during six months i lost 20lbs. I was happy to lose weight... but no noticeable muscular built.... i just got skinnier.....

Little did i knew... it was maybe a symptom of HIV, losing weight

Out of knowhere, im curious bout my hiv status. Last time i check was on August 2012.
1 October 2014 i checked and tested positive....Speechless
My CD4 258 and i have not done my viral load test yet, the lab was unable to test due technical issue... but i will go to another lab in this week

Is my CD4 concerning?
I have been tested for blood check and thorax photo, all come with flying colors.
No issue at all

But now i feel kindda paranoid on catching all kind of hiv symptoms
i got diarhea for 2 days, which only runny watery poop but im afraid i ate something cause diarrhea and might have it all my life
I had cough today and a bit freaking out, i dont know whether its just regular cough or PCP sympthom :(

I did start my ARV ART on last friday, barely just 2 days with once a day pill
My doctor seemed so relaxed and just recommend me to just relax and get enough rest

Im gay and also in relationship with my partner
He tested negative, but must recheck after 3 months too make sure
He is my angel
He never been in relationship and never had sex before
I felt so guilty....
Love him so much...

Well rambling will go on... lol

The point are:
- Is my CD4 258 is threathing?
- Is my cough normal?
- how to improve my health in general....as im newly diagnozed positive and want to improve
- any online support group? chat group that can i access?

thank you so much for reading

As long as you have already started ART and make sure you take it everyday you will be fine.

Your CD4 is borderline where you should become concerned but now that you have confirmation and starting meds you are on the right track.

I would make sure you take those meds and keep taking them.  Also take it easy and try to eat healthier for a little while.  Give your body some time to wipe out that viral load and recover from the damage its taken while you were not on meds.

The symptoms you described could be related and a sign from your body telling you to get it checked out.   Now that you have and you are taking meds I think if you just eat healthy and give yourself a rest you will come back to normal health very soon.

you probably get neviral (nevirapine) and duviral (azt/3tc) free from the government.
make sure u start neviral at half dose for the first 2 weeks. (yes, some doctors dont know about this).
and make sure u check your Hb and liver function, specially in the first months.

the government will start using newer drugs and drop azt in the next few years (i think).
use vitamin E to lessen side effect of azt.

and there are lots of support groups. try to join if u need support.
u can try spiritia.or.id/smf for indonesian language support.

sory, didnt read carefully your post.
u got once daily pill, the newer drugs.
so its probably tenofovir/3TC or FTC/efavirenz.
same as atripla, viraday.

good for you. those have soo much less side effect than azt.
thank good they start using the newer drugs.
one of my friend died cause he cant handled the side effect of older drug and stop arv.

had PM u my whatsapp number.
