Kids Say the Darndest Things

I must share this with you.

A good friend's little boy made a comment the other day that sent me to the floor laughing.

My good friend was looking through a photo album the other day.  It had pictures from those carefree days in the 70s and 80s.
His  five year old little boy came in the room and as his daddy was flipping the pages, pointing to certain pictures and then sighing.
His little boy looked at him and asked "Why are you making that noise daddy?"

My friend said to his son, "Oh, I am having an attack of nostalgia"
The little boy said, "I know what 'not tell ya' is!"
My friend asked, "Oh, you do?"
The little boy said "Yes, Mama said its when you think about all the bitter and sweet 'members you had!"

Well, you can imagine, I cut a look at my friend and we were both done. I am grinning now as I type this.

Talk about an Art Linkletter moment!

You guys are so right, my nephew told me on the phone last night (he is 5) that mommy and daddy are trying to make a baby.  I asked  how do you know it, because at night she keeps saying baby hurry up..  LOL.  Nice to see some other tampanians here.  D
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

I was observing a therapeutic group for children about giving and receiving compliments. As the children were taking turns giving compliments a 7 year old boy, who had been working on being able to play without disrupting his peers, told the psychologist "Dr. J, I want to thank you for teaching me to play with myself." She turned bright red and I about lost it.

Katie had been holding Destin, (4 year old grandson) He had been fascinated with the light diaplay on the conrol for her wheelcair, and she had shown him how to turn on the horn and ..beeepbeepbeep...unknown to her he had continued playing with the lights....he was resetting the controls...it has 4 gears...and they were getting ready to leave as it was getting late. She pushed the joystick and was instantly halfway across the living room. He was in her lap, she screamed, he liked it, but after much chiding was put down.  Getting ready to leave, Katie was calling him to come get his sugars so she could go to bed. He had snuck around and got on the back of the chair and reaching around turned on the chair and pushed the joy stick forward (kids learn real fast) . With everyone shouting.."Destin...stop"..he just shouted..."don't worry, I'm going to take Granma to bed and fill her with my sugars".. ::)
